In this clip, Gabby tells us a brilliant story from his time with England… Fabio Capello was the manager when Gabby was called up and he reveals the strict rules they had to follow, down to what they had to wear, the timing of meetings and the food they had to eat!
But Gabby reveals there was a secret meet-up location where the players would order in McDonalds without the manager knowing!

So, the FA should've known English players were too unprofessional to be successful under a manager who had been doing the same things with top clubs and top players of many nationalities for over 15 years?
Under Capello and Hoddle, the problem was the manager being too harsh. But under Sven, Keegan and Venables the problem was the manager not being harsh enough. At some point you've got to realise the common denominator is the England squad, and not the manager.
