  • Have you ever wanted to just quit your job, live on a boat, and fish every day?
To many of us, this sounds like a dream, but for Marty Zoffinger, that’s his reality!
This guy went from just “existing” and going through life without any passion, to living a life where every day he does what he loves.
    Can you imagine that?
In this episode, Marty shares his story of how so many “failures” lead to him living this dreamy island lifestyle.
For instance, he “failed” at owning a house, so he bought a boat to live on.
He “failed” at his job, so now he rents kayaks for a living.
If you’re feeling stuck in life, or wish you had the courage to chase your dreams, then you definitely want to tune in to this episode.
It’s a mix of inspiration, funny stories, and philosophy.
Have any questions about Marty or chasing your dreams? Let us know in the comments below!

There was a time in my life when I would have watched this guy talk and thought "what an absolute loser! Just running away from reality". Luckily, I'm not that same person anymore. You have to find what brings meaning to YOU in this life and who cares what others think about it, as long as you're not hurting anyone else. I couldn't do what he has. Like he said, I do have a great business of my own, a wonderful wife and a daughter. But man more power to this guy for doing his life his own way.

"The currency of our current age is authenticity" - Robert Meyer Burnett.
Marty is popular and successful for this ONE reason only. He is so genuine and contagiously likable. People these days have been burned by corruption everywhere they look, and so its the purely authentic people, like Marty, who are the most valuable of all.

We all love you Marty!! You've inspired me to purchase my 1st Kayak and outboard motor, to make my own as of this winter 2021. I live in a small studio, with my dog, and love my jeep wrangler. I've spent my life on the water, in the keys, with my dad. I look forward to someday, leaving for Florida. I live in Rhode Island. Bless you my friend, and be safe. I hope to meet you someday!! 👍🙏

Marty Zoffinger, Master of Inspiration; Recently discovered Zoff by chance and been hooked ever since. In my eyes, he's living the life many dream of but, for what ever reason, didn't find the nerve or, failed to recognize opportunity to break the conventional drudge of life. Fascinating how Marty hits the relevant points in his narration like, "don't fear failure" and "Love what you do" and "know when to walk away", in my case it was after 33 years working in a $ 20 Billion a year corporation and rising to VP level in one division; Guess what, I was NEVER happy in my job and not missed when I was gone but, I was ALWAYS happy in my fishing boat, regardless of whether i caught anything and I know the fish miss me when I leave the water. My mantra ; "There's more to fishing than catching fish, thank God" Keep the flame going Marty, you sir, are the type of individual the youth of this country desperately needs in these divisive times.

I know a guy who spent 13 years building a 35 ft boat in his backyard in Utah. He sold his house in Utah and trailered the boat, I think to Texas. He and his wife traveled and lived on it for a few years. He's got it docked now behind a property he bought on the Alafia river in Riverview. He's still living on the boat while building his house on that property. People do some pretty amazing things in search of an adventure and an other than average life.

Simply awesome. I'm subscriber some where around number 1500 to Marty's channel, It's been a great ride. Also a more recent Salt Strong subscriber and I love the more serious fishing related content. But, This podcast has really hit home. I've been in the same trade for 35 years a business owner for 15 years and I truly hate it. I hate everyday. I wake up everyday wishing I lived in or near Matlacha Florida with my wonderful girlfriend who feels the same. As Mr. Kenny Chesney says in one of his songs, "All the stuff that I've gathered doesn't make much sense any more". I'm in the process of selling literally everything accept my clothes, fishing gear and a couple of furniture items and buying a small Florida home where we can actually live. Actually live life in stead of being trapped in life. Gathering "things" isn't living. It's a trap. I've got a house an 80x40 building packed full of lifes traps and it's ending. This video was inspirational that I've not completely lost it and I'm actually on the right mental path. Wish it didn't take me this long to figure out what actually makes me happy. Thanks guys.

  • @verdellparentaaawink268

Kayaking is my therapy, also been where I couldn't make repairs on the house I owned ,a working drone , I really got into electric kayaking in 2000 I was working in the family salvage buisness and I had a chance to trade a truck windshield for an electric kayak. I have been hooked every since who knows how it will turn out,,your life reminds me of mine and millions of other people ,,,God bless you Marty ,,im not much into wearing shoes any more I don't care what time it is I'm doing what I want to do ,,when you stop swimming against the tide it gets easier,,I was mentally ready and I quit smoking for good I can relate,, thanks marty and thank you salt this is as good as kayaking

Nice interview. Marty rides the wave of life and looks for challenges during the trip. One thing though, just my opinion, u really can't "know" people or have a real relationship or understanding of the nuances of their personality thru social media. Not even close. Nothing compares to actual personal interaction on a consistent basis as a means of knowing someone. Marty sort of without realizing alluded to that when discussing how kids that wanted to be like him have no clue what he did and went through to be "who" he is. I am the black sheep in a lot of ways in my family similar to how Marty described his life, but I don't deny the necessity of actually being in people's lives on a personal close proximity manner to have memorable relationships. Fine line to walk in life between acting on personal desires and yet not missing out on others. Peace
