      Does the freezer also separate the digitizer from the amoled when doing it or somehow just loosens the glass from the digitizer/amoled? I have access to dry ice so I was thinking of trying the freeze method.

      the easy way to do this is to freeze the front glass screen off and replace it will a new OEM glass screen. glass screen costs $15 - $30 on amazon....... the problem is the Freezer costs $3500.... you need to get the temperate in the freezer to minus 100 degrees F....you can freeze off the screen and replace the glass screen in like 20 mins and it costs like 30 bucks if you have the right tools..

      Not nessiseraly if you had a thin wire heat up the screen and then put the wire in between the glass and lcd use a saw like motion use a little force going down into the glass not to much pressure don't pull the glass up to much or push the lcd down to much otherwise you will end up with no lcd it is harder on a phone which has a edge though as you can put to much pressure on the lcd

      It is LOCA glue, You don't need UV lamp if You use special loca. You can find it in my links

    Is it necessary to remove the back cover to change the front glass?

    • @JerryMobilePL
      @JerryMobilePL  Před 6 lety +1

      Tania Santiago Aponte Yes, becouse we can't destroy front camera and iris scanner.. LOCA glue will dagame these parts, so first it ia necessary to remove them, and then clean the phone - then mount it again :)

    I just bought a replacement screen kit for my samsung Galaxy s8 on Amazon but I noticed the screen doesn't feel like glass and more like plastic...did I buy the wrong thing? I'm not too familiar with some of the vocabulary. I keep hearing LCD and amoled, not exactly sure what kind of screens these are, is there anyone kind enough to explain?

    • @mat8448
      @mat8448 Před 5 lety

      An amoled is individually lit pixels, whereas an LCD is a liquid display that is equally lit. The first is far more expensive than the latter

    you accidently cracked the edge all around the phone?? mine is cracked on corner and splits through the middle. do I have to do the edges like you? if so how did you get it like that without messing up the digitizer?? not much help if you missed the most important part out, getting started.

    do you have to take off the back cover in order to replace the front glass??

    • @nobodynowherre9117
      @nobodynowherre9117 Před 5 lety +1

      Yes, the rear glass is how you access all components in this phone. Also, before doing any kind of repair, you should always disconnect the battery. This way, you reduce the risk of damaging or shorting anything in the device. Id personally reccomend to remove the battery entirely if youre also replacing the battery, so you can reduce the risk of puncture and severe overheating at this point which could lead to some violent reactions.

      A Great channel for tech repair is Jerryrigeverything. He explains everything very thoroughly. His video on an apple watch screen only repair may also be helpful, as this shows how you can separate an lcd from glass, although it is highly tedious and risky as you can see. He uses a different method.
