Damn, Brackeys had better watch his back
This project was a lot of fun! 🖌
Great work, its good to get a project finished from start to finish. One thing you could add is the ability to add in pictures to use as an outline guide for people to follow, like that zebra picture, but it shows up as a grey outline for the player to follow and scratch out.
this is actually rlly dope! Keep up the hard work :)
Thanks so much!
i love how ur just playing with the program. really relaxing and fun. helps me realize it doesnt have to be big projects each time. :D
I'm personally planning to make a bunch of small-ish projects to learn a wide variety of things! Thanks :)
Hi Rachel, ive just discovered your tech channel, always loved your guitar videos, and now seeing you getting into godot has warmed my heart :D
Thanks so much! :)
@@RachelfTech thank you for the informative videos :)
Yay more Godot content! Love it.
Thank you!
5 days work delivered exquisitely in 10 minutes, fantastic 👍
Looking forward to your future Godot projects!
Thanks so much, I appreciate it! Already getting started on the next one now :)
good job, looks great!
a custom mouse cursor would make it even better (maybe a pencil or a hand or something like that) and it's one the easiest things to implement in godot
Thanks! That would be a fun addition :)
it looks like you built a game... from scratch
nice idea!
😁
I think it was really cool how far you took it and how polished you made it.
I have worked with Unity a lot, and I would always and still do struggle to come up with ideas for things to make. The problem solver in me breaks it down to its simplest form: removing one texture to reveal another texture underneath. But in doing that, I guess I kind of impede myself, because I would have stopped it there. In fact, it seems so simple on paper, that I wouldn't have even started a project like this. But you kept going from there and made it way more atmospheric. The particles alone bring it to a whole new level.
I wish this kind of project mindset was more common and normalized for beginners, because it also introduces you to way more systems of the engine and game-making process.
By the way, if you want to make the particles a bit more realistic (I'm not sure if it was a style choice or not, but they are very floaty), you could make their deceleration really high and maybe also increase the acceleration from the blow.
Thanks so much! I definitely learned a lot more than I initially thought I would going into this project.
I watched your other videos in the past and instantly knew how to approach the unique rainbow texture because of your terrain videos. Thanks for making it easier to think critically about projects.
Glad to hear they've been helpful, thank you!
Perfect progress. Hope you will always be happy young lady.
This was such a cool project idea. Very inspiring to me in my Godot journey and adventures. Excellent job!!
Awesome to hear, thank you! Best of luck with your Godot journey 😁
So cool!
Wow! Great work Rachel! Love how u showcased your dev journey along while all the milestones. One of the best feelings a dev can have is solving a problem and it was cool to see your reactions to tackling a challenge. Keep up the great work and looking forward to your next endeavor.
Thanks so much Huy, I appreciate it!
The sound and particles are such a nice touch! It turned out super satisfying!🌈
Thanks so much!
I'm worried you're making content faster than I can try out your last fun project you shared! I saw the video on procedural generation in JS and have to try it out myself.
Definitely try out procedural generation if you get the chance, it's very fun to play with and applicable for many use cases! (Like I used noise here for the procedural rainbow 😁)
Really cool project and great video. I am also getting more into godot. I used Unity before but this engine seems just more interesting.
Thank you! I've been really enjoying my time with Godot so far :)
Hmm, maybe make a visual novel.
It's simple, and can help you learn some useful stuff for future projects
Focused Punisher Rachel best Rachel! 😅
Really nice project loved it. Congratulations!!!
Thank you!
I really appreciate your work i tried your game and loved it, Keep creating content like this.
I appreciate it, thank you!
that's just what I was looking for. I am trying to get a Holo effect for a 3d Card game, similar to pokemon TCG. nice
Godot is quite fast in the development process and some things in this engine are rather fixed. For example, I'm not 100% sure, but you can't interactively change shaders while running.
Awesome work!
Thanks a lot!
ultra sick
Pretty great! What resources are you using to learn Godot?! I have a little custom game engine but I am thinking about switching to Godot!
I am working on a game that features intractable screens, I think sub-viewports might be something that helps me accomplish that.
I went through the first 2d game tutorial on the Godot website. Then I've just been searching on CZcams for videos as run into things I don't know how to do.
Subviewports do seem like they'd be great for that case!
Also Godot documentation is available in the engine itself when you need it.
Eds zebra?
Hi nice work
If you looking for downloads like a google play apps
You can make a macsk you should follow to get a paint like in the thumnail
By the way you can add a defrant brush masck
Your follower from Egypt
Adding more brushes / stamps would be fun! Thanks :)
