I’m not sure how many of you are interested in charcoal, but I’m giving some of my tips/methods in this video in case some of you are looking to try or revisit it! More a video suited for beginners but it’s also just fun😄
I am hopeless with charcoal....or maybe just too impatient. Having said that, I have most of those pencils in my collection. 😂 Love the flower, it turned out so pretty! 💜
I know what you mean, I sometimes am not patient enough for them but then on the other hand if I want something that isn't so precise, charcoal is tons of fun! And thank you!🌹💙
I have been waiting for this video for a long time it was soo amazing!
Yay I'm glad you liked it! If it seems well received I'll definitely make more on this topic💜
Yes thank you! I need to have 5 charcoal drawings completed for my art class and I’m using this for my last one, thank you!
Ooh I'm so glad then! Thanks for watching:)
great explanation of charcoal for new people to the media and good example to go with it 🙂
thank you:) I think a lot of people are put off by it but it can be really fun to work with!
Thank you for such a wonderful video. Easy to understand and follow...👍👍
thank you for your comment and I am really glad the video was helpful for you:)
I just picked up some charcoal pencils the other day so this is great timing. I noticed they also had a white charcoal pencil, I'm assuming for highlights. Have you ever used the white one?
That's great, I hope you have fun playing around with them! The white one is a bit tricky, it works great on toned or black paper but if you're just using it with the regular charcoal on white paper, it will great sort of a grey tone when layered on top. You can get highlights by layering more but they aren't too bright. It helps to smooth out the charcoal though and create tones:)
@@AlexisCassandraArt Interesting, thanks :)
Thanks for the graphite demo
you're welcome, haha this one is charcoal for once (I have too many graphite already)
Thanks for this video, you explain things very well. 👍🏻
thanks for watching, I'm glad it helped!
Besides charcoal being a little messy- it’s sooo fun to work with! Those erasers are fun to play with 😆! Such a cool texture! I need to brand out my charcoal collection. The tissue works so well at blending it out smoothly 👏🏻!! Dang charcoal dust LOL 😂😫! I loveee tulips 🌷! Charcoal definitely speeds up shading in bigger areas 🙌🏻! Soft and extra soft versions of the charcoal pencils work so well for this 😍! Nice demonstration and tips 👍🏻💗!! Makes me want to get my charcoals back out. ✨✨
I agree, it is messy but fun! I think that it is honestly kind of freeing to use because you can work a little faster and not worry about every little detail at first. Lot's of fun to work with! Thank you for watching💙
This was great👍thank you so much🥰
glad it could help you out! thanks for watching :)
I actually use the hard one to do my under drawing so there is nothing to erase later and it erases well. Just a thought. Great video and great drawing. Subbed. Edit: you forgot to tell people they need to spray fixative on the final drawing so it doesn’t smudge all over the preceding page.
That’s smart! I stopped buying hard charcoal pencils because I kept getting really scratchy defective ones. I have a good cretacolor hard pencil though and may just use that. And good point about the fixative!
I got some charcoal pencils as a gift and forgot about them 😂 thx for the reminder!
Ooh you might like them! Let me know if you play around w them haha
Great demo as always .. charcoal has always been frustrating for me ( messy !! 😅) but your tips have made me want to dive in again ,lol ..oh and good luck with the Cretacolor sponsorship 😏😅
Yes, charcoal is definitely messy but it can be very fun to work with! And thank you😂
Alexis Cassandra Art You're welcome as always and I seriously hope Cretacolor reaches out to sponsor you .. as because of your comments on them , I'm definitely going to go pick some up 😁
thank you awesome info . Buddy
thank you!

Hope to see you around 🤗
thank you so much:)
I have mujinhua charcoal pencils are those good? Im starting to think i bought the wrong brand
I haven't used those before! Are they overly scratchy? If not, then they probably are good! Charcoal is just a bit difficult to get used to and it doesn't go down smooth. If you want a smoother pencil, try cretacolor oil based charcoal
@@AlexisCassandraArt they’re 4 dollars and most of the reviews were positive saying they were good beginner pencils on amazon i don’t think they’re scratchy but they do feel heavy in the hand when drawing with them
Please make video on begginer art supplies in lowest price
working on it now, thank you for this idea!💜
They break evey single time i try to use them when you put em away after using and next day it's broken
LMAO this is why I prefer the cretacolor oil charcoal pencils now
WTF MY CHARCOAL TURNS LIGHT GREY WHEN I USE A NAPKIN ON THE DARKEST 6B IS IT THE PAPER OR THE PENCIL OR ME????
Ok I just realized what u said about that sorry I’m kinda retarded
Sounds like you’re lifting the charcoal! It lifts super easy. You can use a better paper to help prevent it but you can also try using a fixative if you’d like to keep any charcoal from smearing or lifting on finished artwork!
@@AlexisCassandraArt thanks for the reply, will look into it
Please try this pencil
And make on it
Draw with these pencil
