    Shouldn't have called out my team to be honest, but after watching my entire team sail past the B capture point, repeatedly, I'm pretty sure I lost some braincells. CVs aren't really my style nor my favorite type of ship, but hopefully this guide will teach you something you didn't know before!

      u should think about hosting "tutor lessons".. for a price of course.. 2€/h for a team of 4 players on audio-chat or smth.. or analyse player game live,and correct him,and give after game report of player weakness, advantages(if any lol) for some price..just trying to make a suggestion how to capitalize on your knowledge and skill that is worthwhile your time and would also be beneficial for the customer who will hopefully become better player..

    • @victorsung3582

      They need to add more incentive to take a point, maybe make the caps a fuel/ammo depot. Can't stand it when your team just completely refuse to take any risks!

    • @rousp
      @rousp Před 8 lety +1

      Good idea, but why only 2€/h? He could charge 20€/h for a team. At least. But would probably be better off streaming for an hour.

    • @sa3874
      @sa3874 Před 8 lety

      of course, have no idea for price, it depends of demand/supply ratio.. i think an hour with full time Flamu availability analysing your match, your weaknesses, faults, suggestions, remarks is easily worth 20€...if it raises your avg. exp from 800 exp per match to 1200 exp. you get all that money back you would have to otherwise spend it on premium time etc..))

  • @dorathesovietexplorer4539

    I learnt a lot from the video. Thank you very much. Usually I do the cross drop simultaneously. I think your method is better. I also forgot about manual dropping. Last CV I used is Bogue during Open Beta.

  • @tungcaothanh6262
    @tungcaothanh6262 Před 8 lety

    Great vids again :) May I ask why you like to play Shima more than CV, I always see Shima gameplay much more boring even when I utilize its guns a lot.
    And how do you think about not strafing bomber and use normal attack only against them (unless they are about to drop)? Low tier fighters have like 3-4x more ammo than high tier so sometimes it might save more ammo that way rather than 2x failed strafe.

  • @TK-fk4po
    @TK-fk4po Před 6 lety

    Enjoyable video. I'm just finally deciding to learn carriers and I am kind of flailing with the Langley in Randoms. Can you do an updated video featuring the Langley now with no manual drop or strafe? It seems like my main issue is poor positioning of planes, especially fighters as well as the ship itself.

    • @xsupremeyx9923
      @xsupremeyx9923 Před 5 lety

      You gotta keep in mind that USN Carriers are inferior from Japanese counterparts, You Have to Use your Fighters Intensively as they are your best bet against IJN Carriers, Also keep in mind your squadrons are less but planes in Squadrons are more than enemy's.... So you'll do more effective torpedo run than iJN if you managed to hit all of your Torpedoes and the enemy doesn't Stack two torpedo squadrons at once..... Like IJN (Tier 6)has 3 Bombers per squadron so 3 hits, and USN has 4, So 4 > 3 but if IJN take 2 Torp squads so 3*2 > 4

    Great guide, definitely learned some things. Playing CV can be very very frustrating...I feel I have to go fighters every time because if the opposing CV goes fighters and I don't, I get wrecked or at least am largely useless. If I go fighters myself then I spend most of the game chasing their planes and do little damage. Any tips on how to remedy this predicament? Also, any tips on using dive bombers more effectively?

    • @Flamuu
      @Flamuu  Před 8 lety +2

      Consider dive bombers your "fire on demand" button. The actual damage the bombs do is irrelevant, you want to be using them to start fires. Torpedo a ship, cause flooding, wait until he has repaired (check tech tree for repair durations on different ships) and then bomb him to cause unrepairable fires.

      The dive bombers doesnt have a high dmg outout, but they can easily disable ships. The dive bombers initial dmg is slow , but they can set fires, and it slows the ships a bit. They are perfect against DD-s too since there is no way you will hit them with torps.

    I tried CV's in Beta and didn't get on with them, but if I was to try them again, would you suggest American or Japanese CV's to start with? Is there much difference between them?

    • @Gro3n
      @Gro3n Před 8 lety

      The greatest difference is the amount of squadrons and planes per squadron.
      USN CVs are generally better at dominating the skies, while IJN CVs are generally better at dishing out damage. (However at some tiers, depending on the setup you choose, it's the other way around.)
      I would suggest every player who wants to play CVs to play both nations' CVs until T5 (Zuiho and Bogue), to get a feeling of their strengths and weaknesses. I would also suggest to try out the different setups.
      e.g.
      AS Bogue is the best to dominate the skies but the worst to deal out damage (2x fighters, 1x dive bombers);
      Strike Bogue is the best to deal out damage but can't dominate the skies (1x torpedo bombers, 2x dive bombers);
      Stock Bogue is good to dominate the skies and good to deal out damage (1x fighters, 1x torpedo bombers)

    I have a dumb question. How do you get to that overhead view you're using on this tutorial? I have a Langley, but I'm so far unable to use that overhead view I see in these CV tutorials. Is it a mod, or what key combo do I use? I wish these "basic" CV tutorials would demonstrate how to get to the overhead view the demonstrators are using to show their tactics.

    • @warmike
      @warmike Před 4 lety +1

      The tutorial was made 3 years ago. In early 2018 CVs were massively changed. This is the pre-rework state, it's left in the mobile version of the game, Woold of Warships Blitz.

  • @Schimiter89
    @Schimiter89 Před 7 lety

    I wouldn't worry too much about losing planes to AA until tier 6 because AA in low level ships are quite abysmal. Just don't let your fighters get caught by enemy fighters when you are hovering around enemy AA because only then it could make impact.
    I highly recommend 'Air Group Modification' over 'Flight Control Modification' for upgrade 2 because winning fighter battle and keeping your fighters alive are so important in low tier CV battle; once you lose all fighters and enemy CV still has theirs, you are pretty much screwed. You only have 2-3 control groups so you can't really outmaneuver or juke their fighters; you only have few extra planes to spare whenever you lose one, and their fighters only need to shoot down 2~3 of your squadrons until you are completely out of planes. Your planes can't hide behind ally cruisers and battleships because their AAs are useless in low tiers. The fate of your entire flock depends on your fighters, and you really need to keep them alive as long as possible.

    • @ReddyTuRole420
      @ReddyTuRole420 Před 7 lety +1

      It wasn't a hosho. That would be an enemy langley/bogue with the air supremacy skill which adds 1 fighter to his squadron of 6, making 7. need a 15 point captain or more to have this skill, so he was probably seal clubbing.

      focus lone battleships, come from their side and quickly drop then go back away from their AA and when you are out of their AA. go back to carrier to rearm and make sure u dont get near enemy AA.
      if u can go for the weakest AA target, especially BBs as they are easier to hit.
      use fighters to eliminate enemy fighters and bombers. u can lock fighters with your own fighters, but best near the best friendly AA u can find. a good strafe can help too. also u can just make the enemy follow u into heavy AA and then make him weaker.

    I still don't know if the tier 4 is fair. IJN:2 torp 1 fighter vs USN: 1 fighter 1 torp 1 bomber. Was better in the past when there were no dive bombers for USN. Because Langley will always outperform the fighters. But it's tier 4, so people don't know what they are doing. :P

    • @cobrazax
      @cobrazax Před 8 lety

      i would prefer langely without dive bombers, as they take aircraft slots.

    • @johndford
      @johndford Před 7 lety +1

      Langley is well... susceptible to getting alpha striked because it's so slow, and it's aircraft are generally slower than the hosho, also long reload times :v

    • @cobrazax
      @cobrazax Před 7 lety

      yea, but without the DB, its really good as it has more fighters and 1 big torp squad.
      it makes it very easy to control, even for new players.
      the DB are a bad addition, as they take the space of more useful fighters and TB, and they are not useful that much. also u need to micro more, and at low tiers, its easier to control 1 strike plane type than 2 different types

    • @johndford
      @johndford Před 7 lety

      When I was playing the Langley, I found it easier to alpha strike enemy carriers, torpedo bombers first, wait for them to repair, then drop the bombs on them, ans USN dive bomber squadrons don't mess around, even if they are only tier III

    Usually i do enjoy your videos a lot, you are a very good player and respect you for this and the fact tat you share your knowledge. My problem with this video is that your so called "tricks" make people violated the rules of the game. The map border is there for reason, its not made to be crossed, neither is leaving the map with your planes to hide them from the mini map a valide tactic. It's obviously intended by the developer. There for those two tricks are basically glitches and bugs you use to your advantage and this is the worst, sharing such glichtes is even worse. Its hard to respect you after you did this for no reason.

      While I am wholly against cheating or exploiting, I have to respectfully disagree that this violates the rules of the game. First, the developers are almost certainly aware of this possibility, and would be very easy to fix by simply not letting planes cross the border; however, there is a reason this is in the game. As Flamu mentioned, the ability to drop outside the map border is intended to let carriers do something about people riding the border; otherwise, players could simply scrape the border and be, maybe not immune to, but certainly much more resistant to torpedo bomber attack. As for using it to hide your planes, the only thing that really does is make players be more aware of their surroundings, which I don't find to be a bad thing.
