One of the first things I was taught as a new claims adjuster was to allow for "rough pull time" on my estimates. You don't just slap new parts on a vehicle to repair it. You need to deconstruct the accident damage by taking it out the same way it occurred. Any dorks questioning why you are pulling parts that are just going to be replaced are just that, dorks.

A "Tip" for when you break into a brake system - bin the caps, jam a bit of wood/proper brake depressor onto the brake pedal - once it is half/a bit more than half depressed, no more fluid will leak from any open line-joint. Saves a lot of drippage/mucking about/bleeding.

😀It must be very satisfying to think back about all of them and know that you fixed all those cars/trucks/SUVs and that most of them are still on the road? And I guess you earned a few $$$ back selling them. Hm... you got me wanting to get a V8 before I "kick the bucket". A fixed up newer Chevy SS or a Pontiac G8 GT/GPX (without active Displacement On Demand) would be nice. But at the same time the fuel/gas prices are crazy expensive over here now, and the price will only go up as time goes.
The big trucks you have fixed also look very nice. But I kind of like wagons (we have 2, 5 cyl. Volvo "wagons", an old crappy V70 gas-powered and a newer XC 70 AWD with "serial turbos" diesel which is still rather nice) but I guess the Australian Holden wagons (som have V8s) are all Right Hand Drive. Some crashed UTEs have been imported to the US and rebuilt using crashed LHD G8s or SS cars to make them into LHD UTEs/small trucks. Those were "teased" but newer imported to the US as new cars.
I guess I can import an older Corvette or Camaro V8 from Germany but they wount be exactly cheap either.
I've seen some new C8 Corvettes for sale over here which start at more than $110000...

Your patience dealing with tools that do not obey your needs, metal that someone reshaped the wrong way, and the trials of life is relaxing and hugely satisfying to watch, it calms me down when my day is going less than well. Clearly a person with respect for the work you do, with an understanding of the vital needs of repair work. Watching each episode is a great way to spend some unwinding time.

Scott, absolutely fascinating. I still don’t fully understand the time taken to do all the pulling before cutting. I guess it’s so you have less to remove as it is partially aligned? I appreciate your channel, skills, and explanations.
Sorry the >$10k price of the pickup was beyond my son’s budget. Not saying it isn’t worth that.
