I enjoy Modern Warfare 3’s multiplayer in the same way I’ve enjoyed nearly every one of Call of Duty’s competitive kill-fests. When you get down to it, there are few games out there that can match how this series looks and feels in the heat of a firefight. To its credit, this year’s game has brought back some great maps and made some meaningful tweaks to movement and recoil mechanics. But… that’s kind of it for what you get with Modern Warfare 3’s contributions - there aren’t any big new ideas to change up the same gunbattles we’ve had for years, with the most thrilling one being that cosmetic purchases carry over from Modern Warfare 2, which is only possible because so little has changed. Especially when you put those improvements next to a cumbersome and frustrating new progression system, it’s not enough to get excited about.

@@MARO24S Doesn't matter if they're the same maps. This game doesn't play like the original MW2. It's faster, and has more movement options, not to mention the different arsenals. Two different games.
The progression model follows the same design philosophy as seen in most free-to-play games.

Originally , this game maps was suppose to be expansion dlc for MW2(2022) but then Activision did a whole reverse and forced them to create a whole game instead .
They did that because people didn’t like mw2 that much cause they complained about it being too slow, visual recoil and etc.

@@thafinaleI mean everyone is going to have complaints but alot of people that hadn't bought a cod title in years bought MW2 due to it returning to its roots and allegedly was supposed to have been the primary title for 2 years without a 2023 release. It was well received at launch but they hardly supported it while they constantly added support for Warzone. MW2 could have been something that revived the franchise but as usual the shareholders made them fumble the ball and here we are.
IGN seems on to have turned on a right path to actually review products accurately, as they should. It's all started not long ago, but your reviews are now more meaningful and accurate. Thank you. Couldn't agree more on this one. Cheers

Think it started when they stopped doing doing reviews for example with a 7.4 review. The 1-10 reviews became more consistent

Yeah this is the First CoD Game with No new maps even United Offensive the Expansion pack of CoD 1 in 2004 had new maps
My only problem with the game (and other new titles) is the $70 price tag, I’ve been enjoying the multiplayer
They really took a legit DLC concept and churned a “AAA” game out of it.
Goad ti see COD getting called out for its lazy cash grab this year.
No challenges are impossible but you may have to use a default loadout. The TTK isn’t the same as MW2

Hit registration issues when playing on 60fps on console requiring two thirds to three quarters of your magazine to kill one person.
Extremely bad audio making somone moving above or below you sound like thier right next to you.
The sheer amount of cheaters in this game.
The strange weapon attachments positives and negatives, one silencer has increased bullet velocity in the pros yet decreased bullet velocity in the cons.
@@ParallaxStellaalot. Ttk definitely isn't the same. Map and new weapon count on par with other cod launches. New update kill streaks. Zero mention of new perk system which is 1000X better than MW2. No talk of ground war or war mode. Also no mention of mini map being back to the old school pre MW style. Your review skipped over a ton of positives. Just seems you were looking to pick it apart from the start.
@@grantmitchel2810 I talked about the game modes in the review in progress and those are part of my statement that they aren’t NEW or add to the game’s positives. Ttk is close enough that most players will not notice a difference.

Bought this game on sale for 48 and BO4 for 20, but i'm just not feeling MW3 that much, hopefully that will change with more consistent matches with non campers. On the other hand, i'm enjoying the consistent pace of BO4 so much despite its long time to kill. BO4's maps are also more fun imo.
Man said 70 quid for a 2/10 campaign and the multilayer is just a fixed version of mw2 with a map pack slapped on as a garnish to this bag of sh....

The game would be ALOT better if they remove sbmm from causals and only have sbmm in rank but nope, Activision wants to protect people's feelings. Don't worry, XDefiant will be out soon

It isn't the consumer's fault that a high budget entertainment product is underdeveloped and underwhelming. It is the production company's fault every time.
Are people not allowed to critique a game whether they pre-ordered or not now ? That's the only way we're gonna keep companies and products honest and transparent
@troyhowes994 it's literally the consumers fault. Year after year, people say they're not gonna buy the game again, yet every year they buy it on release. Buying a game and then complaining about isn't helping the situation at all.
Man can Cod just go back to how the old ones were. Every cod had a unique multiplayer start menu. This looks like a dlc no way this is worth the money

The time to kill was slower in the beta, did they make it the same as MW2 before launch? (The reviewer said it is the same.)
The health is 150 instead of the previous 100 in MW2. Vanguard also had 150 health, sledgehammer also made MW3. They have to stop letting sledgehammer make these worthless games.

Not sure how you can genuinely review Cod MW3's multiplayer mode and not even mention the GLARING issues of SBMM.
Would love to see gameplay clips longer than three seconds, to get a better idea of gameplay flow.

This game was so obviously planned to be a major DLC like the rumors originally said and Activision decided last minute to push it out as a full release.

The TTK is not the same between mw2 and mw3

They are great maps because they are all remade maps from OG MW2. His whole game has been one lazy $70 dlc to MWII, hell, the game just attached its trophy’s to MWII without a platnium. I’ve never seen a game launch fail so bad in just 1 year

IGNs track record with CoD games has been a static approval regardless of what they release for over a decade. My comment resonates the idea that if they aren’t in approval with it considering their track record of turning a blind eye to the issues of the series and calling every CoD game great, then it’s high time that they realize the games aren’t really improving and being broadcasted through players and gaming media outlets such as IGN.

Fair review, but she was off about the TTK, the refreshed TTK and fixed movement mechanics are the reason this one plays better than MW2. Not saying MW3 is great but anyone who played the previous multiplayer should know that this one is wayyyyyy better.

This has to be the most confusing review I've seen in a while. It's all over the place and mixes valid points with things that are just straight up incorrect. If you don't like it then you don't like it, but this just feels like dumping on the game for "cool points" to counter the reputation ign has gotten for questionable scores in the past
Quitting Cod is the best thing I've done to my life.. Im now cod free for almost 5 months now.. Im slowly getting my life back.
The progression system is TERRIBLE.. but least you can unlock everything really quick if play zombies, just grab everything that's new and exfil (or if got a contraband, equip then extract) ...

I’m actually enjoying the MP experience. Aside from SBMM, and the armory unlocks, gameplay wise it’s way better than MWII.
Just because the movement is faster? Thats literally all they changed and everything else is a downgrade (sound effects, no weapon tuning, less weapons)

If you are in the low spectrum of cod buy the game you will have fun but if your average or above average stay away SBMM will make your gaming sessions a living hell.

You will have 2-5 decent matches then the game will put you in lobbys full of either unemployed sweats or campers. The game itself is better than mw2 but matchmaking is a little intense.

I'm still playing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered and enjoying every minute of it, especially online.
There is exactly 1 whole new map in the entire release, same horrendous Hulu UI, same menus look and feel, there is absolutely nothing here that warrants a full release and could not be done with a big patch (which is exactly what it is)....still gave it a 6.....how are we gonna get any sort of breakthrough improvements if reviewers don't hold Activision's greedy f...ks accountable? It's not even sledgehammer's fault, they did what they could with the time they had...
