Wonderful blessing. Thank yall. How great this country would be if we all had families that taught about Jesus and raised children with those values.
I love that verse "Behold I stand at the door and knock" God bless all of you!
No, we want to hear your conversations, too, as much as the music!!! Thank you Paul and please thank your cousins, too! I love seeing the guitars featured as you talk, thinking of how often they would have been played. Thank you again, so much for this 🙂
I'm still 👀 watching the video but I wanted to say thank you to Tipper before there are a thousand or more comments. Thank you Tipper for sharing your life, your stories, your family, your gardens, Brasstown, Appalachia and all of the music. Honestly, in the last few years I have found a brand new perspective on life and most of it came from watching you, Matt and the girls.. God bless you and God keep you ❤❤
Thank you, People_Watcher! and God bless you too!
You kids are making the old man cry and I love it thanks
Love this music!
Paul sir you did about the best a man could do to introduce this, thank you and may God bless you
Paul, you have done so much and continue to do so much to preserve your family’s music history. Wonderful job!!
There are no two voices I enjoy more than when you and your dad sang together. Absolutely heavenly harmony.
Thanks so much, Edie! I enjoy sharing the music! :-) I'm thankful that there are people out there, like you, who enjoy hearing it!
They were right up there with the Louvin brothers but chose to take another route. Proclaiming the gospel for Christ in song is the biggest achievement anyone could accomplish. Thank you Paul for your hard work in making this happen.
Thanks so much, Brenda! :-)
What a tresure. Love your remembering and the beautiful songs. Sometimes I so wish my mountain mama and daddy could have had youtube back in the day. They would have loved listening to this. Maybe they are hearing it now. 💕
Thanks, Jerry. I know what you mean. Although it was a huge hit when it came out in 2013 (#1 in 16 countries), I only recently discovered the song "Hey, Brother" or Avecii's Anthem. As I listened to it, I wished that Pap could have heard it, especially when I saw that the official video features US Marines. I felt the same way a week ago when I discovered a beautiful version of Satan's Jeweled Crown done by a young man on CZcams. I just have to comfort myself with the thought that Pap has gone on to bigger and better things!
Paul I absolutely admire that you are keeping your fathers' memory and talents alive! And letting his legacy live on! 🥰 Every generation should do this! 🙏
Thanks, Kimberly. I really enjoy it! It's a blessing for me. Thanks for watching and commenting!
I agree with Brian....yes this first track should speak to all of us. People need to get back to God. Thank you so much for doing this and how very wonderful for your whole family that you have this wonderful music!!
wow thats amazing to have such memories of something so far back that it was realeased
Amazing how much talent runs in one family and spans multi generations. Certainly shows God's hand and plan.
Robert, thanks so much for watching and for that very kind comment!
Thank for sharing Wilson Brother's with us.I really enjoyed their music.God Bless y'all.
Thank you for sharing your family roots, faith and music.
Cathy, thanks so much for watching and commenting!
I watched the whole thing and I completely enjoyed every single track and the commentary and I just love that they were offered if they would go secular a record deal but they just wanted to proclaim the gospel that's just amazing to me that's what stood out more than anyting accept for the music course. In such beautiful beautiful Harmony and you can feel through their words their love for the Lord, I just literally can't say anything else except that. I watch you all the time every video on both platforms. It's been hazy the last couple months because I had surgery found out it was botched during healing and have to go through it again I was angry at first but who am I to gripe because there's always somebody worse off. I have so much love for you guys I pray your seasons or wonderful, we're in the triangle area Raleigh area but in near Bunn North Carolina in the country where I do caning and gardening myself. I pray for your guys health and happiness everyone have you guys and everyone period. Maybe we can do a meet and greet. I sing also that would be absolutely amazing for me. But if not I completely understand. You guys be healthy and happy and we all love you guys, each and everyone of you!!!!!!!!
Jamie, so sorry to hear about the bad surgery. We hope that everything can be well corrected. We're so glad that you enjoy our videos. There's a lot more to the story of the demo session in Nashville. Maybe someday, I'll do a video about just that.
Oh! This video did not disappoint me! It was absolutely wonderful! I love how you set it up - having a general intro with everyone, then discussing each song individually after you played it. I have many things I want to say, but because I know I can be long winded and rambling, I took notes and will cover just a couple of thoughts. The first is - as I began listening to this video, the thought touched my heart about how God gave us the gift of rhyme in music. We tend to remember words better when they are in a song. It is easier to teach a young child a concept by teaching them a sing-song verse. It sticks with them for life. Even as an adult, I find that true with myself. I can reread something all night, but 24 hours later it will completely vanish from my brain. I remember better when I write something down and repeat it, almost in a cadence rhythm. This album gives us the life changing teachings of the Bible in song - we deeply remember the words God gives us to the Way of Salvation because of this. The second thought was in being self taught - not everyone has the ability to pursue an education in their passions (which is a pretty word for talents) due to time, money, or lack of classes being offered. God gave us the ability to self teach so that we can take those talents He gave us, become more proficient at them, and therefore use them in more ways to serve Him. If we just harbor an interest in something, it doesn’t grow into the blessing to someone else like it should be (or could be). Does that make sense? I hope I am expressing that right. I loved this video, Paul! As always - you are the best teacher I know. Your knowledge is so fantastic to listen to! I just want to absorb everything in your brain! I enjoyed meeting your family and hearing their memories, and thoughts on the songs and what the words of those songs have meant to them. The awesome thing to think about is that when The Wilson Brothers made this album, their desire was to share the Gospel with as many people as they could. I believe they were thinking mostly locally in your tri state area. Little did they know that their album would become listened to worldwide because of the advancements in technology - and the determination of their children, who love the Lord as much as they did. What a testimony you are - being willing to use your free time to get this most important message out there to be heard. There are no greater Words to be heard. The way of salvation is what life is about.
Donna. : )
Donna, thanks so much. You're absolutely right about rhyme. It can not only make things much more memorable, but in a way, the message can be more meaningful or powerful. Before the Norman invasion of England in 1066, English poetry did not rhyme. That technique was taken from the French. Pap was pretty good with rhyming in his songwriting. If I spent all of my free-time sharing gospel music, if I spent every waking hour doing that, it would not be as much as I should rightfully do for our Lord. :-)
I would love to have this album! Wonderful music lifting up our Lord Jesus!
I can make you a CD if you would be interested in one.
The Word talks about a “goodly heritage” you cousins have a goodly heritage because it’s godly! ❤
Yes, ma'am. Thank you so much!
I am so very happy to watch this long awaited video!! The Wilson Brothers are the best male group in my eyes - their music, the sound of their voices and instruments, was/is very wonderful to hear. My heart always sings when I listen to them. God always uses their music to lift me up closer to Him. I will have to watch this video in segments this morning, and write more later. I have been gone, and now have so much in my little part of the bis big vast world to catch up on, starting with my first meeting in just about an hour. I am very excited that you made this video!! And I love the length of it! Thank you!
Donna. : )
Thanks, Donna. We hope you're meeting and Monday went well.
As I continued to listen to this wonderful treasure/music that you all have I can hear some "Everly Brothers" type of guitar playing. They clearly must have incorporated some of it from this type of music. Just love this~
Every time I hear you speak of your parents it sure makes me miss mine. My parents left us with such a spiritual legacy and i can see your parents did too. we dont live up to it for sure, but God is merciful. This is such a special video and thank you all so much for sharing this with us. Ive already shed tears listening to the FIRST song!
Thank you so much, Ruth. It's good to know that this content means something to folks like you!
God bless you friends ❤️😢
God bless you, Norman!
I love your (and your family's) music Paul!
Jill, we're so glad you like it! Thank you very much.
Well...
I'm just a bit elder
but not by much...
Happy Anniversary.
and thanks fer sharing this...
Thanks, Phillip. My own personal anniversary (aka birthday) is only a few months behind that of the record). :-)
I'm listening now for second time. Doing work and listening and I guess I wasn't paying attention first time. The first track has made me have to stop to compose myself (got things to do in town and can't go crying). THIS SHOULD BE A HIT right now. I can't imagine anything more appropriate. Made me cry. 🙏🏼 💓 12:39
Thanks, Keeptrying! It does feel so very fitting indeed! That's what Brian was pointing out in his commentary. Although I miss Pap tremendously, there's a part of me that's thankful that he's not here to see what has happened to our country.
Oh yes and he was right on@@BlindPigAndTheAcorn . I completely understand what you mean regarding Pap. Thank you and God bless y'all.
I am watching this on the actual 50th anniversary of this record being made. So amazing! ya'll have such talent and so kind to share it all with us.
Thanks, Lissa! We thought it would be neat to release the video on the same date the test print was made. :-)
Paul, this was awesome. What a tribute to the Wilson Brothers, and what an interesting discussion between the cousins. Thank you all for the effort you put into this project. I enjoyed learning more about the brothers, from their philosophy on music itself to the finer points of salvation. I spent a couple of hours listening and re-listening and watching and re-watching. I can't begin to understand most of the technical aspects you discuss, because I play piano only with music, not by ear. Hence all the re-listening. Look forward to part b.
Thanks, mhelen! We just said what came to mind, so I'm glad it was interesting. :-)
Great album review!! It's awesome that yall r capturing this family history for the future generations!
Thanks a bunch, Johnny!
I’m watching this right now and as usual, I love it! Paul you are doing such a great job with your family’s music. I get excited when I see these kinds of videos. Thank you so much for sharing. It was also good to see your cousins.
Thanks so much for watching and commenting, Mrs. C15!
The instrumental beginning reminds me of Loretta Lynn (Coal Miners Daughter movie) So a true country vibe.
I'm a Wilson on my father's side. Heard all this music as well.
Cool, Tracy! We may be related! Pap's family came here from Madison County. No telling where they were before that. Where had you heard this music?
Madelyn O’hara😊
Yes, that was her name. I'm not saying it was Karma or God, but her life did not end happily or well.
