my goal this past year was to read 12 books and i ended up reading 53 which was insane… but i also did cut out television so i guess it makes sense. crying in h mart was one of my top books in 2021, it really stuck with me and listening to michelle’s music is a much more powerful experience now knowing her story. some other books i loved this year were educated by tara westover, song of achilles by madeline miller, little fires everywhere by celeste ng, and pachinko by lee minjin… all SOOO good.

JENN. I just downloaded Storyworthy last night. I’m on chapter 3 now, and I can already tell that this is the book I’ve been needing and looking for over the last 5 years.
I’m a writer, but I also struggle with feeling like the main character in my own life. Lots of my childhood has been blocked out, and I’m on a mission to uncover it! As soon as I started my Homework for Life page, memories just started pouring out. The part about the dad, dog, and underwear in the rain was the brick I was longing to be hit with.
I’ll be reading for the rest of the weekend. Thanks so much for sharing and for such a convincing review!

I have tried three books by Colleen Hoover because her books always got good reviews and Goodreads awards, but they were never my cup of tea. I also read one of Louise Hay's books in 2021, "Experience Your Good Now". I used to listen to the audio version on CZcams many times but never reached to the end. Her soothing and calming voice just put me to sleep before I could finish. Thanks for the reviews, Jenn. "Big Magic" has been on my list for so many years too and I definitely should read it soon.

Jenn's book recs and reviews are always the best!
Personally, "It Ends With Us" is way hyped up but there are some good underrated books of CoHo.
Jenn, I would recommend you to read Colleen Hoover's "All Your Perfects", it's my favourite among her books and would like to hear your review on it! "Verity" is also a good read, it's kind of a psychology thriller so please give it a shot to those two books.

This video was perfectly timed. I never expected myself to be an avid reader until I realized that it doesn't matter what I'm reading, as long as it's fun. I tried out a book from the humour section (Why Not Me? by Mindy Kaling) last week and I love it so far. It doesn't feel like a chore. Thank you for the book recommendations! I'm definitely going to check out Storyworthy and Dear Girls. Happy New Year, Jenn! ♡

The one book that I will always get people to read when they’re into Self development is Pete Walker’s From Surviving to Thriving. I’m a doctor and 3 years in to self development and healing and this book made my jaw drop and absolutely changed my mind and behaviour. I wish everyone was made to read this in school, so so important for understanding mental health, cptsd and past trauma - give it a go!

The Omnivore’s Dilemma is my favorite book ever! You should check out Cooked by Michael Pollan too. That one is much more lighthearted and fun.
