It's crazy to think about how much time you put into making this 6 minute video. It's no surprise you are nearing a million subs. Well deserved.

1:00 Nobody Knows You When You’re Down and Out - Eric Clapton
3:23 Make me a pallet on your floor - Mississippi John Hurt
5:10 Cocaine Blues - Townes Van Zandt
The version he's playing yes not the original though
The Scrapper Blackwell version is the one that I enjoy the most.
God
Sorry, "Nobody Knows You When You're Down and Out" was initially written by Jimmie Cox. I got that info from Eric Clapton's "The Easy Guitar Book". Of course, my favorite version is Clapton's. Cheers !
@@fowono2007 The version on the Layla album is the best, Duane Allman and Clapton bounce off eachother so well.
Is away from home for a long time.
Not only uploads videos.
But makes new videos on the go.
In good quality.
Actually I sang this comment in my head as if it was a blues song
Love the little travel vibes and history lessons. Great stuff dude
I live in the UK so it is always a revelation to see and hear you travelling through the famous places I can only imagine, and reminisce about the people who rode through those lands searching for their new life, carrying their music with them, and playing around the camp fire every evening, wondering what the next day would bring. One can only imagine the courage they had,and be grateful that they passed that way.
It's always weird to see someone actually visit where you live. Somehow you actually made Tucson look nice on a non-rainy day lol.
RedBeardJoe It takes someone from The Netherlands to make Tucson look and sound great hahaha.
I’ve been to Tucson quite a few times and always loved it. (Im a Brit)
Ja ja ja
I grew up, married my soulmate, raised four children, and taught for 30 years in Tucson.
I make every effort NOT to return to that liberal armpit of a city.
Bob Dragoo perhaps more the people than the place?
Such a pleasant and aesthetic video, musically and visually. Fantastic stuff!
Next level music and concept video/recording, keep it up and cheers :)
Very creative man, great job 👏👏👏
Beeing with the blues for a long time, in this case it's not the what but the how you are telling the story: what a great little piece of work this video is - Thanks a lot man!
What a timing! Yesterday I decided to focus some of my time on fingerstyle playing. Thank you Paul!
Great choice of songs, man. I need to go jam on these as well. Love the video!
I looooove this style of video! The cinematography, the aesthetics, the atmosphere, the sounds, such a beautiful composition sir 🙏🏽

Sedona, Arizona, home to red rock buttes, steep canyon walls, and pine forests....and also one of your biggest fans.
Great video man, one of your best for sure!
Home of two of your biggest fans! Sup jack!
MacGregor Young
-- Weirdest thing: I just spent the last couple of hours today looking into moving to Sedona (all the way from Massachusetts!), and then I randomly click on this video (because I play guitar, so lots of guitar videos get recommended), and a guy from The Netherlands just happens to be there! What are the chances?! ;-)
Anyway, I think it's one of the most beautiful places in this country.
Small world, dude! Let's get together sometime ;)
Amazing how your production constantly evolves. Truly one of my favourites channels. ¡Thank Paul!
Dear lord this was really well done! I love to see how so much work and passion went into every aspect of the video.
The cinematics are excellent in this video, it's appreciated Paul, or should I say, het wordt gewaardeerd Paul
fingerstyle blues is one the hardest and yet most satisfying styles to play imo. Great picking and awesome video Paul. You can feel the loooove......
The cinematography in this video is just beautiful. And so is the music. Amazing work!
Not only are Paul’s videos beautifully made and entertaining, and instructional, but this one is filled with rich history. Way to go, Paul! Your videos keep getting better and better! 🤘🏽👍🏽
While being locked inside my office life, your songs and skills are a true delight and inspire me to start playing again. Thanks for sharing your gift Paul!
I'm amazed at your knowledge in guitar and the many different styles you've taken time with., and how much I learn from you.♥️ Your a superb teacher Paul, really!
I'm from Alabama, been playing and learning from these old guys around me for 20 plus years. I love being able to expand on different styles. Ty Paul!
The effort that went into making this video can be felt! Amazing!
I appreciate this. The video shots, the direction, the history behind the music played and of course the music itself.
Paul has one of the most soothing voices ever both on the guitar, and with his words 👌
U a child?
Beautiful shots, just in general I really admire your work you put into this channel. Keep it up!
This amount of effort you put into your videos is the exact reason you are one of the best creators on CZcams - keep up the awesome content man, brings so much joy to so many people
Man, this video one of the best among others "guitar tutorials" but same time so inspiring.... I've the same guitar and traveled a lot in Russia and other countries with it. Thanks for your efforts and keep on going!
This is a masterpiece! Great landscapes and guitarsound! Thank you very much Paul!
Wat een super gaaf 'project' Paul!
Niet alleen heerlijke tunes, maar vooral de diepte die het verhaal brengt en dan de backdrops om van te dromen.
Heel erg goed gedaan!
What a wonderful mix of music education and history, along with great guitar playing. Good work. 👌🏻
"Nobody knows you" is one of my favourite songs. Great job! Man, it looks beautiful there.
I've played the Clapton version of this on unplugged for a longtime but very much enjoyed adding your intro to it which makes for a far more interesting beginning. Thanks
This video was amazing! Great songs, great narrating and overall a nice way to pay homage to the blues!
This is the most excellent video I’ve seen in a long while. Thank you very much for your work!

An amazing tribute to the Blues! I was expecting a simple tutorial. Well Done, Paul!
Can't tell you how much i loved his video Paul ! If you made a series out of this and packed it into a movie i'd definetly buy it

Love from Greece!
Well, that so nice that I may have to subscribe, finally. Thank you for the fine music and travelogue.
I truly love the blues, and you show great respect for it's history and influence. Exceptional playing.
I lived in that part of the Country for about 10 years, and appreciate it's stark beauty.
Absolutely awesome video. Love all the locations you went to.
Thanks, Paul. Lovely little lesson on the blues, and I got to see some of my old stomping grounds; I lived in the Phoenix area and spent a lot of time around Sedona and Tucson. My wife's son lives over the mountains from Tuscon near Ft. Hachuca, 10 miles (16 Km) north of the Mexican boarder. I love these litttle vignettes you do when you travel.
This Video Idea is soooo amazing! 😊 You inspire me so much!
Perfect video for a snowy and freezing Rochester Sunday morning. Kudos and thanks.
One of your best storytelling videos yet. Gorgeous cinematics!
Really enjoyed the video and music ... felt like I was there myself living the story ... so professional...
You are a very educated and organised musician.
Your dedication is worth appraisal
haven't enjoyed watching a youtube video this much for a while, really good work
Bro, I would happily pay to get tabs for your renditions of these songs. Your style is incredibly appealing. Been playing for 15 years, but I dont know a damn thing about music theory, so interpreting the tabs from these videos is tough for me. Your stylistic nuance is exactly what I've been searching for, I hear it in little bits from famous musicians, but you perfectly embody it every second of play. Glad I discovered this channel! Your my new model for emulation.
Surprinsingly i’ve came back to this video for the third time now. It’s such great work.
you're A great artist and a teacher man ,,my utmost respect man ...
Just discovered your vids. Amazing. The songs you play are better than the originals. You have helped me to discovery the beauty of blues and fingerstyle and in the space of a day I have watched this vid about 10 times. Great work, humbly delivered.
sounds great man! nice video quality for sure.
I always appreciate Paul's focus on the beauty of music. It's very refreshing. A lot of art could benefit from considering beauty. You'd think that would be obvious, but apparently not.
Wow! I was listening with my ear phones. My ear drums resonated to your strings when you played cocaine blues. Your videos are not only sheer joy to watch but also to listen too. 👍
I used to live in Arizona and would hike the horse trial once or twice a week. Beautiful country and beautiful guitar playing, keep up the good work man.
So calm to experience your videos
Love this one! Your videos are getting better all the time.
Wow! Fantastic Video, so much work put into it!
This is art at its finest. Thank you Paul.
The best edit for blues amazing man rly keep it up
Paul this is awesome! 👏 I LOVE Rev. Gary Davis and Mississippi John Hurt. Stefan Grossman, Roy Bookbinder and Woody Mann have some amazing stories about knowing Gary. He was a real character.
There's a beautiful video. Thank you very much Paul. 🙏
Honestly the most sincere, humble and overall the best guitar channel out there
Man it was just awesome, no words to describe this good... You deserve more than a million subscribers
You're getting better and better at editing videos and literally making videos. Can't wait for you to get big because you deserve it!
Isn't it just so interesting to learn the history of music? Very good video Paul, enjoy the road trip.
