    I thought the self leveling blocks on the bottom was so you dont have to use a morter bed as the tub was designed to sit directly on a level floor. Unless I am wrong about the installation of this particular tub design.

      (From the framing and support section of the manual) The Jacuzzi Tru-Level® base is a standard feature on all bathtubs. If the subfloor is level and a continuous surface, no other preparation is necessary. Proceed to the “Electrical Connections” section.

      I would recommend add the cement because of the weight of the motor and the water is level. I don't have any complaint about this unit, it's been working for since install and I like it.

      A dedicated 110 for the pump and a second circuit for the heater if you add one. I used this tub form my condo.

      @@oddlyrightoddlyright2475 I just checked and I added two new dedicated circuits, one for the pump and a separate one for the heater. Each breaker is 15amp. Sharing the load with another circuit is less than ideal.
      I ran the Romex behind the drywall and above the ceiling through wood joists, by strategically cutting holes where needed. I don't have a crawlspace so it had to be done this way. While I was at it I ran AWG #6 in the same direction to power an EV charger on the outside of the bathroom wall, so making the most of my messy drywall cutting.
      An electrician was employed to run the conductors, he guided me about the details like where there needs to be nailing plates and to be sure the holes through studs and joists are well away from where drywall screws or nails might go.

      On three sides of the tub there is a flange, this is drilled and screwed to the three walls that should be there. It's an alcove tub. A drop in tub should have been used. The tile would have finished around the tub much nicer and water penetration worries me.

    • @bobbobbinson1841
      @bobbobbinson1841 Před 2 lety +2

      You are totally right. This is an alcove tub made to sit right next to studs on all sides but the front. Then it can be drilled into studs and waterproofed properly. You built a 3 sided platform for a alcove tub... you should have bought a drop in tub and built a 4 sided platform. OR keep the alcove tub and NOT build that platform and push the tub to the studs then install.
