Thanks for sharing! I have the R58 Mini Coupe JCW. You'll be glad you didnt have to a demonstration on that ;) It's a big job in itself having to remove plastic side covers behind the front door. Unbolting the seat belt, remove the middle support bar plastics (behind the front seats), removing the right speaker thats right behind the front seat etc etc etc. SO anyone with a Coupe it will be fun for us.

Nice video 👍🏻I’m on vacation and I will probably do this for my
2013 Mini R56, it seems like it is time , I don’t know if this car has ever had it done since we are the second owners .

Ive done alot of work to mine and so I wanted a new filter to start it up after.....its been 3 months now. Changed pistons...rings....rebore cylinders with drill....Head gasket....new timing chain....spray painted some bits before puting back on so the bay looks nice. Sprayer valve cover red to match car.

I need to do this... also the oil filter, that’s a pain in the ass with the expansion/coolant tank in the way, the UK of variant has a pipe that makes it hard to move to keep to the side compared to the US ones, so you are basically guessing blind with one hand and a super fine thread trying not to cross thread it, while keep an expansion tank held back and hoping no to bust a pipe lol, much easier if you do the coolant and the oil on the same day :)

@@MGAdrive very welcome, i had an old mark 2 mini 850cc with an MG 1300 cc over the 850 cc gearbox.....nippy!, sadly gone now so all my Mini love is going on my daughters 2008 Mini Cooper pepper white, sadly the bloody thing is going in with idle issues, this wouldn't be hard with an A Series engine but hopefully the mechanics where we bought it from will fix? Blooming fingers crossed!!!
Will be a keen viewer and thanks for the vids....ps totally cool Dad fyi😁 Andrew...UK

Great video! I like your approach; you did a great job of showing your viewers what can go wrong (common mistakes), and what to do to correct them.

The other large blue seal is for the fuel pump side apparently.

    Hello MG Drive,
This is Scott from Winter Park, Florida USA. It's the town just outside of the Orlando area. I agree with the previous comment about the awesome music track that you used! Hello am going to change the fuel filter on my 2009 R56 JCW Hatchback. The car is not firing up. It'll crank but not run. The in tank pump as not been priming when you unlock the car. But sometimes it will prime the fuel afterwards. So I am going to do the filter and check the pump out at the same time. Thank you for the great advice and insight into the fuel filter replacement.
    Cheers,
    Scott Thompson

Does that piece of white tape mean it’s never been changed? Seen on other videos.

Is this the same for a standard R56 2007? I notice there 2 seal under the seat, it still behind the driver seat?

    • @MGAdrive
      @MGAdrive  Před 4 lety +1

#Liyonjin hey buddy yes it should be the same behind the driver’s seat .

  • @MrAssassinash

I changed my fuel filter today. Took over 2 hours. I ended up reusing the original seal. Not happy. I broke a bit off with the hammer too. It will be okay.

Or a large monkey wrench and a metal rod to put through the handle and turn.

My housing physically won’t go back in now, it’s as if something has broke underneath and is stopping it from going down, I’m now without a car
