  • The absolute master of string bending and vibrato, Mr Chris Poland, at the Tone Stone booth, NAMM 2018... My favorite guitar player with Andy Timmons. And he let me play his guitar :)

    I take great pride and saying for about 30 years Chris Poland is my homie and brother by different mother. I can't tell you how many times I saw him play at various places like the baked potato and used to take them. I used to go sit in listen to him play it is studio downtown rehearsal Hall quite often. He's not just a guitar player is a guitar God. You've never met somebody so humble and friendly. You can walk up to him and talk to him after he plays. Look at the bottom of his feet you'll see a huge white crystal. I gave that to him many many years ago he says it gives him power. You damn straight it gives him power. He doesn't just play the guitar he channels music. Keep On Truckin bro.

    You mean all those people walking around out there can't even tell who it is sitting there playing. I could hear it one time and tell who it was no doubt Chris Pollard and he absolutely was their best player in Megadeth still yet to this day..

      Yeah man good observation, I guess that's good in some ways, I mean there's still an aspect of metal being a club that's not for everybody. I guess that's what separates us from pop music.

    He let you play his guitar??? WOW. I should probably go to namm.
    Excuse me, can you tell me what amp does he use? Where does he get his gain/overdrice from? Is it from amp or pedal?

  • @deathstar7766
    @deathstar7766 Před 4 lety +10

    Because of his paralized pinky finger, he is forced to channel his talent differently than that of say of Marty Friedman. His notes are closer together, but he makes it sound so good. Better, in my opinion. A complete original.

    • @Buttsmoker

      It looks like it. He was using one at NAMM last year. I wonder if he's using sometimes using the Katana instead of his rack?

    • @thibderobAKAfremen
      @thibderobAKAfremen  Před 6 lety +2

      Yes, a 50 W Katana. And it was the best sound I had at NAMM (also used another Katana, a Boss GT1000, various Yamaha THR...)

    • @bingefeller
      @bingefeller Před 6 lety

    • @thibderobAKAfremen

      definitively NOT a 2x12, it was small

    • @azlakki
      @azlakki Před 6 lety

      Are you blind, he uses the Katana on the left which is certainly 2x12, the cable goes to it.
      Behind the floor monitor there is 1x12.
