What is amazing is these guys only rehearsed for a couple hours before the show, which was literally the first time they played together in over 30 + years! They didn't even rehearse this tune.
He turns the most weird scales into some of the best. Return To Metalopolis is one of the albums I will never tire of as it's too classic! You fucking rule Chris!
Chris reminds me of my grandpa (god rest his soul) my grandpa used to jam like this all the time, and I used to watch him awed at what a master play he was, both Chris and my grandpa have the same playing style my grandpa hated those boring old pentatonic "slow bending bullshit" as he called, both guys are the reason I play guitar, ah damn if papa could see me now
There's a finished, one hour (out of 4 that was played) DVD video that was produced (which I was a part of)... but it is up to Chris Poland, his Managment, Yamaha, and The House of Guitars to release it. We (GhostFilm) had permission to let one loose. We are (all) glad that you enjoy it!
i've learned my bending from Ace Frehley, but most of my vibrato and bending from Chris Poland when he was in ]v[EGADET]-[ . One of the only guitarists that could make me cry with his intensive solos
Don't need Dave Mustaine to tell me that this guy is World Class....but yeah, if Dave says your one of the greats- you can rest assured your a beast on the six string.
His bends are just out of this world. They astonish you with their unpredictability but then even more so when he takes the most 'outside' sounding note and make it very melodic. Fuckin class player. No one can sound like him ever
@Robo902 Megadeth is my favorite band, but I do believe that this was the best decision for him. In Megadeth, I doubt Dave would have allowed him to express himself as much as he does now.
Didn't realize a 54 year old was suppose to look young as hell. Marty is over rated, he is great but Poland doesn't get the credit he deserves and THAT makes me like him more.
Wow Chris Poland looks old on this video and this was 12 years ago? I remember renting a rehearsal room at downtown rehearsals where he was manager and he was much younger back then. Well unfortunately he kicked me out. I have no hard feelings for the guy he was very respectful to me always even when he kicked me out he was very nice about it. It was my fault anyways, I was partying way too much.

@Robo902 He didn't break his finger, but he had put his hand through a glass window at school and cut the tendon on his index finger, and when the wound healed it made his finger bend out and to the left so he can stretch really far with it. But I think Good Mourning black friday really show cases Chris's playing. He is better than Marty Friedman in my opinion.
Poland is so under-exposed. This guy is amazing and definitely top in the 10-20 guitarists of the 20th century
