Jim Gifford, Drums (Sonor, Zildjian)
Andy DeLuca (Tobias, Thunderfunk)
This was an improvised jam. No rehearsals or planning. I thought it was great, so here you go!
This is the first video I'm uploading for your enjoyment... I'll figure out how to work out the sync issues as I decide which program to purchase in the end.
Feel free to comment, but be friendly. These cats deserve respect!
Despite the incredible talent you need incredible guts to play like him. He fearlessly steps on some very questionable notes and then springboards off them with some of the most exhilarating and unique melodies Ive ever heard.
This is fucking incredible. Tone and technique. As good as it gets and completely original. Man. He's up there with Shawn Lane and Marshall Harrison
Chris is best playing from the heart like this....just amazing
His playing is so immediately recognizable and unique.
I'd recognize that lead tone anywhere!
Awesome....I was there. I walked up as he was just warming up...from outside the building you could already tell it was him, the huge tone. I just stood in the doorway in awe while the staff was setting up chairs. Drove 5 hours to be there and it was worth it. Thanks for posting this.
I like him so much. Chris Poland has tone - unik to say the least.
that guy in the slayer shirt looks dissapointed. he was expecting some deth stuff
I love how he explores a groove, swims around in it, and then just organically wanders into a completely new groove… and then finds his way back into the original groove to close it out. I thought he was completely lost between minutes one and two, but boy was I wrong.
3:11 hooooooooly
This isn't a specific song. It's just a groove and he made it all up on the spot. The guy's insanely crazy good.
@GreenGuitarNerd Thanks for coming out. We appreciated it, and I KNOW Chris appreciated it.
gran musico, me llamo la atencion en el disco peace sells de megadeth hace ya muchos años, es de esos tipos que tienen un toque unico y reconocible con tan solo una nota y los que tenemos oído absoluto solemos disfrutar mucho.
Just another days work for the legatogod.
If any illustration were needed that shows just exactly how I think Chris is one of the best players around right now :)
@CWPtacek How wish i was there,long way for me : )
What a player he is. Many thanks for sharing this video.
2:29 best part, tasty!
AWESOME..WISH I WAS THERE
Great video - thanks for posting it !
3:56 thats right...
what an ace sound!
So tasty!!!
He reminds me of a metal Neal Young. All over the place but really makes it work.
@imaxeman69 Dude, there were plenty of metalheads there, and no one was disappointed. :) There ain't nothin' wrong with a little Slayer in between Shakti and Tribal Tech. Alphabetically, anyway. :)
Sounds a little Holdsworthish.
The man on the right was surely waiting for The Conjuring
@petepachio ...So be at the next one, brother!
@imaxeman69 If there was even a reason to be upset at a show Chris Poland was playing at, it would be because no Black Friday...but honestly...just seeing Chris play would be fuckin awesome.
@moneymoney220666 Andy's playing in India with Michael, yes.
I won't press the thumbs up button just because I'm jealous.
What's the tune? Does anyone know?
Hypnotic. So beautiful.
His tone is unbelievable. Wow.
@imaxeman69 The guy in the Slayer is at almost every Metal show. He must really be open minded and know his music. BTW Hangar 18 is from Megadeth not Slayer.
@imaxeman69 hangar 18? , that's marty friedman's era. lol killing is my business and peace sells were the albums that chris played in.
@CWPtacek does andy play for Michel angleo batio
I wonder if the cat in the Slayer T-shirt was upset that he didn't hear Hanger 18?!?!
Mark Walter Poland didn't write hangar 18. How and why do idiots make statements that are not based on fact?
@imaxeman69 Why would he? Chris Poland didn't even play lead guitar on that song!! :P
@MrEyebrowz I am slowly being won round to that opinion.
Shhhhh
@imaxeman69 it's too bad chris played on a better albums than rip
