I think the best thing about the character of Jack Black is that he really believes in his students and that although technically, for the first part of the movie, he "uses" them, he never stops believing in them and in their abilities, just as he would with a real band; It’s something all professors should have, no matter what they teach.

I watched this movie again tonight and am reminded how "similar" the music & arrangement was to "drum circles" i put on & facilitate. I go into schools, companies, organizations, after-school programs & outreach with as many as 80-100 of my percussion instruments. I often work with people who've never played musical instruments before. And it poses unique challenges when people have neither played, nor have much music aptitude. Fortunately for this movie, they had months to screen, cast, and teach these kids to play these parts. Compare that to my going into a school with an assortment of percussion instruments, and within 30-60 minutes, I've got kids rocking out. Age can make a big difference too, for when kids reach 14, 15, and 16 they’ve often had some music exposure & developed some skills.

@@CameraHam exactly. He even tells Zack that he is so much better of a guitar player than he is and can write great songs. It's actually very heartwarming and sweet the way he embraced them and helped them find their skills
Jack looked like he wasn't originally planning to have everyone in the band, but a kid asked otherwise, so he found things for them to do... He does this several times throughout the movie. When someone asks if they could do something else that he wasn't originally planning from them, he says go for it.
Because in that instant he remembered what it felt like to be left out of the band. This movie has such a positive message that everyone belongs and everyone is good at something, it's just a matter of finding it. From anyone else it could come across as corny but with Jables, it's just fun.
I thought a movie called Mechanics School featuring an experience professional mechanic teaching not only high school mechanics, but also car and car parts restoration. He or she is a loyal, honest, reasonable and truthful mechanic making sure all spark plugs, pistons and piston rings replaced from any car and truck engine.
This is my favorite scene in the movie. Jack Black's charisma and chemistry with these kids just eats up the moment. He feels so genuine and his passion for music is his best possible vehicle for a movie. I get goosebumps (no pun intended) when the little kid asks "You mean we're not in the band?" and Jack hesitates with "Now hold up now..." This movie was a perfect little storm.
The way he twists himself around while he's cranking on the guitar at the end of this scene perfectly illustrates how much his talent made this film work.
I don't think Jack Black was even acting he just showed up and kinda did his thing.
Part of what makes the movie so memorable because it’s just Jack Black being himself

I've legitimately never known a fellow sentient carbon-based lifeform dislike Tenacious D or Rush, nevermind disliking both
Jack Black’s film taught me how to be awesome and rebellious
And due to my autism I am not normal, I’m special

Its Jack Black
I still have my Guitar Hero band set from 15yrs ago👍🎸🥁🎶🎤
2:37 “Cello you’ve got a bass” gets me everytime😂
Jack looked like he wasn't originally planning to have everyone in the band, but a kid asked otherwise, so he found things for them to do... He does this several times throughout the movie. When someone asks if they could do something else that he wasn't originally planning from them, he says go for it.
Because in that instant he remembered what it felt like to be left out of the band. This movie has such a positive message that everyone belongs and everyone is good at something, it's just a matter of finding it. From anyone else it could come across as corny but with Jables, it's just fun.
@@FanboyFilms yes. That's kind of what I was saying. I 100% agree.
@@FanboyFilms Totally agree, you just need to let loose and show your talent.
That's like the opposite of my boss!

Remember Jumanji! Jack Black rocks!
The underline message here is Dewey is a great teacher who encourages his students to unleash their true potential without being rude or nasty.
I get goosebumps (no pun intended) when the little kid asks "You mean we're not in the band?" and Jack hesitates with "Now hold up now..."
This movie was a perfect little storm.
Jack black is an international treasure
This movie could not exist without Jack Black.
Pharaoh on LFS Probably his best performance! There's a reason he was nominated for a Golden Globe award for this movie!
And miranda, she was only like 9 years but it was funny and great for that age
Pharaoh on LFS aaahhh yaaasss -jack black
The way he twists himself around while he's cranking on the guitar at the end of this scene perfectly illustrates how much his talent made this film work.
Pharaoh on LFS
He is the one who makes the band so...
NO SHIT!!
I'm a classroom music teacher in high school - i promise you this watching this is the best CPD I have ever had in over 20 years teaching!
Loved this movie! R.I.P Kevin Clark ‘Fred’ :(
Those kids deserve Oscar awards for not falling over in tears laughing out loud at Jack's antics.
