I find it quite interesting the cultural difference of the audience compared to say...north American audience. Clearly they were enjoying the performance as they were all watching it very intently but there were few smiles and the clapping and cheering at the end were rather subdued. Is the culture more about being reserved and dignified when observing a fine performance? Quite interesting.
What you said may be right, but I also think that it was because most of the audience hadn't heard the song before. I'd say this piece is only well known among a certain community of the youngsters. If it were Despacito, for instance, the reaction would be very different.
@@82vojtech I think to test this theory we would have to observe a video of an audience listening to a well known piece then. I find it hard to believe, given that Pirates was a worldwide hit, that these people don't recognize the tune. They aren't living in a 3rd world country here. My 80 year old parents know the pirate's theme for goodness sake, they have grandkids that have made them watch pirates multiple times. lol
With all respect for the asian culture and talented people, but i would feel it better if some scandinavian vikings in pirate costumes would perform it. ;)

The only other country that I could think of that would be more jolly in their reaction would be the Philippines, even then, they wouldn't start howling like cats in heat.

Brings me to tears...due to the heavy workload I stopped playing violin in 2019, and although I touched it a few times during lockdown, I haven't played it like I used to back in the day during college days...beautiful memories...nostalgia hits hard bro...time really flew by

My great grand father was a unreal violin player he played a lot of old western music stuff that would make you start to dance even if you don't dance I wish I was able to get one and learn from him before he passed away
