I hope this flash mob of incredible musicians in such a beautiful place inspired many more classical artists to come.

This is the last movement of Beethoven's 9th and final symphony before his death. It's undeniably one of the most beautiful pieces of music ever written. Beethoven wrote this completely deaf. When the 9th debuted on the 7th of may 1824 Beethoven stood behind the actual conductor, conducting himself, and the orchestra was instructed to ignore him. By the time the orchestra had finished, he was several bars off. At the conclusion, Beethoven had to be turned around by one of the Chorus member, Caroline Unger to see the standing ovation, and rapturous applause of the audience. He couldn't hear it. i am crying watching this too. so glad to know there are others that listens to music the way it is supposed to be listened to - with the soul. Classical music always affect me this way, and i am a young person. lol
i was thinking the same thing. there are so many beautiful things in this world that brings us together no matter who we are or where we're from. makes us wonder why then is there so much hate and evil.
It is always the same, instant admiration, you forget until you hear music live, what a connecting point it is to humans! And the "Olde for Joy", as a veteran it even has a greater meaning and emotional response to hear out in the open, by real musicians, playing unmodified instruments,. Where crowd participation is involuntary, spontaneous, even in kids:) Should be done once a day, in every square in the world, to calm the beasts:) Beethoven' is smiling at this tribute:)
But it is all about money...and when you try to change it everyone clings to their fucking money. We have this world because we choose to have this world. We did it. The best thing that could happen now is an asteroid fix the mistake.
@@cbriangilbert1978 I did not choose to do so! *I did NOT choose to be forced to pay protection money* to keep my roof (they call it property tax), or being extorted from part of my own fruits from my own labor (they call it income tax). I did not choose to forcefully pay a multitude for energy (Gasoline, etc) due to all the forced taxes. The list could go on. As long as gvmt. forced people to pay, as long "all is about money". Once the extortion stops, the society can change. Then, WE can by our own FREE WILL choose what we wish to support (eg. firefigters, peace officers, road maintenance, etc). And if we don't support it, we won't have it. This simple, as soon as there are no people willing to shoot, because they are told so, if one does not pay, what others enFORCE.
Actually, it sort of is about money... this flashmob was organized by Banc de Sabadell - thus it's right in front of their bank with the name prominently visible in most of the shots.

Stalin’s Russia, Mao’s China, Pol Pot in Cambodia, Fidel Castro in Cuba......etc. the list goes on and on. Not trying to be a jerk here I get that you’re trying to spread what you think is a positive message but chalking all of society’s problems up to power games between the rich and the poor is a dangerous ideology.
I though so when I heard it for the first time at 7, when I saw it live for the first time in New York, at 17, saw it in Jerusalem at 24, all the way to this moment, watching it late at night at age 62, with a plague still ravaging too much of the world. There is nothing like it, if people are genuinely able to be touched by something divine, Beethoven, aging and deaf, proved he was that kind of man with this conclusion to his final symphony.
I love this piece. It whispers, "I have a secret to tell you, come closer", and you see the kids and families come closer and pay attention, and wait for the story. Then the most beautiful music plays and takes you on an adventure. A delight to watch and listen to.
I was just going to comment on exactly why this is called " Ode to Joy " but when I saw that joy on the faces of adults and children alike 😷😷😷 it made me cry with Joy . I keep coming back to watch this video . Thank you all for sharing this .
@Juana Gómez I didn't say I don't like street music. I said that this video looks staged and "fake". They probably signed up for this concert because the organizer needs their consent to be published on media.
In 2003 I had a friend that performed with the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra and received free tickets to most of their performances. I’ll never forget a guest performance from Itzhak Perlman. His mobility was torturous and the hall was totally silent as he very slowly made his way to the small platform. It was very hard for him to step up the 6” surface and the concentration on his face to simply maneuver a small step was upsetting. He sat for a few minutes and then started to play - he and his soul became weightless and powerful and gentle and strong. It was difficult to not weep with pure emotion throughout his performance. I’ve never heard such a thunderous applause and open weeping by all. The power of music cannot be denied.
I know I'm late for the show but this was fantastic. Wish I could have been there to see it unfold. And like the one person said, it brought a tear to my eye. Had to edit...quite a few tears actually.
At 85 years of age I have heard Beethoven’s ninth dozens and dozens may be hundreds of times. But this rendition brought to my eyes. The crowd reaction and the little boy who climbed the light pole were just mesmerizing. Thank you for posting this.
The greatest thing about this impromptu performance is that some random kid will go home pick up an instrument and become a great musician and insipre other kids in the future. Music is truly special and universal.
With how much of train wreck my life has been these past three years, this song just brings me to life in a way that words alone cannot describe. I can genuinely feel euphoria whenever I listen to Beethoven and this somehow found me on an atrocious day.
Beethoven's 9th symphony, Ode to Joy, is the name of this wonderful piece. Enjoy.

I had tears in my eyes. That was beautiful. Those people there to witness that beauty were so lucky.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Same here
Me to.. :)
All of this brought a tear to my eye. The musicians, the singers and the audience! Just beautiful, it gave me goosebumps!!
Same
It just emphasises how we are all one !
Everything you do effects me and everything I do effects you............
for better or for worse.
Agree 100%
Goosebumps here too!
Me also I cannot believe it brought a tear to my eyes. The power of music.
200 years old, and this epic masterpiece of music still attracts and inspires ppl of all ages and backgrounds. From toddler to grandma/-pa, everyone joins "The Joy". Good job Mr. van B.! Awesome performance ❤
What a wonderful experience to share a come together of many different musical talents and lift our spirits of so many people. What a Blessing to start your day with such unselfish Love. I cannot thank you enough! I really enjoy seeing people coming together in such a creative beautiful display of talent. The world has been Blessed with such beautiful unselfish generous people! Amen 🙏⚘️
I'm sitting at home with tears rolling down my cheeks listening to this and experiencing this long after it was performed - found it very moving for the times we are living in now.
Yes, that was a beautiful performance! It stirred my emotions. 😊
You are not alone about releasing tears over this performance, Sue Owen. Me too.
Yes Ma'am.
i am crying watching this too. so glad to know there are others that listens to music the way it is supposed to be listened to - with the soul. Classical music always affect me this way, and i am a young person. lol
@@infraredp7 wait until you get older, and you hear a song from when you were younger. Nostalgia is grand.🙂🎶
The world needs more of this this, and it would be a better place.
💯
i was thinking the same thing. there are so many beautiful things in this world that brings us together no matter who we are or where we're from. makes us wonder why then is there so much hate and evil.
It does indeed, let's start by banning all religions then we can all be one
@@sterlingkayon84 God is love... the devil evil my friend. And the world is currently in the hands of the devil. Thankfully not for long.
Where’s this place?
not everybody has the privilege to watch an orchestra..this is perfect ❤🎉
It is always the same, instant admiration, you forget until you hear music live, what a connecting point it is to humans! And the "Olde for Joy", as a veteran it even has a greater meaning and emotional response to hear out in the open, by real musicians, playing unmodified instruments,. Where crowd participation is involuntary, spontaneous, even in kids:) Should be done once a day, in every square in the world, to calm the beasts:) Beethoven' is smiling at this tribute:)
How much richer is life, when it is not all about money?
And they didn't start till they got money
Bet those instruments weren’t free.. money is king 🤴
Every single person walked away happier and more uplifted than when they came, wonderful moment
If this doesn't put a tear in your eye, your heart is stone, How wonderful it is. :)
Beautiful! I love the tension the orchestra created by slowly adding instruments.
If the whole world would just stop and listen to this and watch the joining of everyone...coming together in unison...sharing our universal language of music....just imagine how much better our world would and could be.
Amen!
@@wade6663 Touche, wouldn't it be wonderful.....what a world.

@@josephvizzaccero7981 Good point.....we also happen to live in a very Greedy world full of a bunch of Narcissists.......pathetic.
@@josephvizzaccero7981 Okay Karl Marx........you know millions of people died in the 20th century alone as a result of that ideology right? Stalin’s Russia, Mao’s China, Pol Pot in Cambodia, Fidel Castro in Cuba......etc. the list goes on and on. Not trying to be a jerk here I get that you’re trying to spread what you think is a positive message but chalking all of society’s problems up to power games between the rich and the poor is a dangerous ideology.
People talk about paintings and sculptures as great works of art, but this may be the greatest work of all.
And deaf while composing this. Imagine! 🤔
when Beethoven wrote this what was in his mind it was pease and kindness to all of us
I love this piece. It whispers, "I have a secret to tell you, come closer", and you see the kids and families come closer and pay attention, and wait for the story. Then the most beautiful music plays and takes you on an adventure. A delight to watch and listen to.
It's the real world we want to live in. The music is life. Tears flows out relentlessly out of joy. Thanks for making me happy.
I agree. The power of music is undeniable
Do others cry hearing this glorious music - I do!
Please somebody let me know what type of music is here?🎻

KOUSHIK KAR It's Beethoven, Ode To Joy.
Goose bumps, teary eyes, smiling. Every. Single. Time. What a joy!
Check out the one for Ravels Bolero. It’s pretty dope.
Beautiful! Brought a smile to my face and happy tears to my eyes!
I was just going to comment on exactly why this is called " Ode to Joy " but when I saw that joy on the faces of adults and children alike 😷😷😷 it made me cry with Joy . I keep coming back to watch this video . Thank you all for sharing this .
Have you heard heart playing stairway heaven in front of led zeppelin obama michelle and others the ending is unbelievable
Hello how are you doing hope you are having a wonderful day??
Thanks for commenting... Your comments are worth viewing i hope all is well?
The children in this are magical.
I was just thinking about how lovely it was to see kids enjoying this. Brought a sparkle into our dark times.
They are the future entrusted to our care.
Paid actors
@Juana Gómez I didn't say I don't like street music. I said that this video looks staged and "fake". They probably signed up for this concert because the organizer needs their consent to be published on media.
Have you ever seen non-magical children?
This just gives me chills every time. I find myself coming back to this often.
Well im glad your coming often back
Well said Rose, fine music will bring you back again and again! Have a great weekend!
A performance like this can turn a whole new generation on to the classics. This needs to happen more!
Music...the universal language that brings us all together.
Not RAP
yes, from another Schaffer
Change the young lady's life !
The only thing that brought these people together was the money the producers paid them to appear as extras for this commercial.
I know I'm late for the show but this was fantastic. Wish I could have been there to see it unfold. And like the one person said, it brought a tear to my eye. Had to edit...quite a few tears actually.
Can’t help but smile and just really enjoy the piece that all these musicians played. Obviously for their love of music and not for money.
At 85 years of age I have heard Beethoven’s ninth dozens and dozens may be hundreds of times. But this rendition brought to my eyes. The crowd reaction and the little boy who climbed the light pole were just mesmerizing. Thank you for posting this.
@Hello there, how are you doing this blessed day?
The greatest thing about this impromptu performance is that some random kid will go home pick up an instrument and become a great musician and insipre other kids in the future. Music is truly special and universal.
I hope they are Indian
@@krizyamz70 I hope so too, my friend.
Sorry d.v... but it was rehearsed and staged to feel like an impromptu performance... The kid was real
@@clivecowlard7098 That's alright, if not the live performance, the video might have the desired effect. Hopefully.
not bloody likely
Ode to joy so aptly named, this gave joy to so many people.I just loved how even the youngest child reacted
It's wonderful to see the little kids enjoying the music so much, trying to conduct. This is something they'll never forget.
Everybody smiles in the same language, and music translates it.
maritimer Man Indeed !! What a magical time in space
Very well placed.
An excellent analogy !
Right! I'm Asian, but I'm terribly moved by what I have watched.
One of the first comments on here that makes good reading.
The biggest respect to all musicians who took part in this performance of unity for all viewers!!
👍
Agreed
Huge respect
especially the musicians that recorded the music in a studio you don't see which they over lay on the video edit.
With how much of train wreck my life has been these past three years, this song just brings me to life in a way that words alone cannot describe. I can genuinely feel euphoria whenever I listen to Beethoven and this somehow found me on an atrocious day.
I will never grow too old for this
