    I bought a new car, but the new car smell is making me feel sick. This is how I remove the new car smell! New Car Smell contains VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds), which is unhealthy for your body. New car smell is the off-gassing of toxic chemicals, like benzene, formaldehyde and many others!

    Dude. My body cannot handle it either! It is NOT in your head! Thanks for your video!

      Yeah I thought I was going crazy or the bumps in the road made me feel sick. Nope! It was the car! Pulling over to throw up isn’t fun! Thank god I sold it!

    Just bought a used car (2021)that has a weird smell. Dealership used an ozone machine inside it without telling me. The ozone O3 oxidizes materials inside and releases VOCs in the air. I drove it around for like a week and now I'm spitting up green mucus, have a tickle in the back of my throat, and feel overall unwell. VOCs are no joke

      Wow that sounds very serious! Is there a way you can air it out by leaving the window open and the a/c running for awhile? I also had to use a mask while I drive, but that's no fun! I felt so nausous driving around. Also check for any CO leaks as well.

      Wow! Thanks for the tips on the ozone machine. I thought it was a good thing!

    You're lucky it's just the car, imagine commercial truck drivers who also sleep inside for weeks. Spend 24/7 in these trucks for years. Everyday you have to fight this shit getting up with headache.And when addressing the issue to dispatch they say "did you tried air fresheners?".

      Oh nooo that would suck!! I can’t imagine being in a situation like that.

    Hey I recently bought a new car and yes the car REEKS of this smell.
    While I personally happen to like the new car smell, I realise it does give me a headache at the end of a long drive.
    Aren't car manufacturers supposed to be banned from using such products?

    • @IAMChrisWorkman
      @IAMChrisWorkman  Před 11 měsíci +1

      Yeah some are, but don’t remember which manufactures. VOCs is a real problem and health concern. Bank GOD I was able to get ride of the car and get another one.

      @iamchrisworkman you mean you had to sell this car and get another one?

    • @IAMChrisWorkman
      @IAMChrisWorkman  Před 8 měsíci

      @@vanessatang6760 yeah I had to! I didn’t want too but it left me no choice after while. The tools I bought helped reduce the VOCs but not enough to make me feel 100%.

      Oh noooo! That sucks! There's no way they can swap the car some how? I am grateful I was able to get out of mine. What I described in the video did help, but not enough to keep the car...

    Recently bought a new car and cannot drive in it.. Voc It's severely affecting me...i thought your car was new but you just changed the filter.. Was hoping to get some better tips on how to rid this smell.. How has the deoudouriser helped.. Is it huge difference

    • @IAMChrisWorkman
      @IAMChrisWorkman  Před rokem +1

      Oh no I’m so sorry to hear about this! My car was 5 years old and the cabin filter has not been changed until I did. The deodorizers did help a bit, but then I was getting sick again. I think I had a CO leak! Carbon monoxide exposure: If your car has a carbon monoxide leak, it can cause symptoms such as nausea, headaches, and dizziness. This is a serious issue that should be addressed immediately, so if you suspect this might be the problem, take your car to a mechanic as soon as possible.
      I ended up trading my car in for another one. Thank god my car had positive equity.
      Check out this CO detector I was going to buy. At 9 pmm I believe is when it’s harmful in the car.

      Also you may have suspension issues. If your car's suspension system is worn out or damaged, it can cause the car to bounce or vibrate excessively while driving. This can also lead to feelings of nausea or motion sickness.
      Just another tip.

      It's actually a new car but the voc that's being released was insane especially for me as I am sensitive to chemical smells. It has reduced to an extent over the last few weeks but still unbearable for me. I hope the voc gets to a limit I can manage soon. They say it can take up to 6 months and I'm on month 1 thankfully have a second car but the gas price is ridiculous and it's quite heavy on gas.

    • @IAMChrisWorkman
      @IAMChrisWorkman  Před rokem

      @@tron3652 yeah it may take several months. You can leave windows open and blast the heater for several minutes. Constantly need to get the smell out. Also take water and mild soup and wipe inside the car. I even sat in my the car when it was not driving and see if I got sick and I indeed started feeling light headed.
