    I’ve watched so many of these videos, but yours, for some unexplained reason, was so much easier to follow. I think it has to do with your voice which sounds very calm and “matter of fact.” And, you don’t do a lot of unnecessary talking or over explain a simple “Click the button”

    I used your video to do the remote start install on my 2014 F150 XLT and it worked beautifully. I did buy a different OBDII cable. I bought the one from the Forscan site but other than that I did the same exact procedure as you did and it worked awesome. Thank you for making this video! Now if I only i could find a way to set my traction control & Advance traction control default to off when I start the truck and have the option to turn it on on the fly.

    Thanks for putting this together! The step by step setting up Forscan was very helpful. Some stuff has changed (didnt need to have a forum account) but it got the job done. I was able to get the new keys cut at the hardware store for $ bucks and program them myself. I was also able to connect with a bluetooth OBDII BAFX dongle I already had.

    I just programmed 2 additional keys today for my 2015 F550. I pretty much used the same procedures as you but I only had 1 key and I used Forscan in the pats key function to program 2 addition keys without erasing the original keys. Then I used the turning the key on and off 8x to program the fob portion of the key. Now I will order my remote start antenna and the turn on the remote start function using Forscan.

    Great video! Just got forscan and waiting for new keys and obdII connector to arrive as I only have 1 key fob and now I want the remote start for my 2014 f150! I might be able to handle that with the help of your video! I'm no mechanic but am tech/PC savvy so you got yourself a new subscriber and fan! Hopefully I can find the spreadsheet that shows what numbers do what functions and dont end up with 1 original key and 2 new ones that wont start my truck since it sounds like I need to delete the working key for the process but I'll back everything up 1st. Hopefully it's not hard to upload the saved profile. Thank you!

    • @LUCAMTire
      @LUCAMTire  Před 4 lety +1

      I did not have to delete keys which was nice for me so I didn't need to dabble into that scenario of things. Keep in mind if you are using the trial version of forscan it is for a 30 day trail. Then payment is needed I believe. Been awhile sense I used it.
      If you are looking to install a OEM remote start turn on your remote start module now before trial version times out. You can program the keys later with the door-door lock function with rotating keys in the ignition.

    Did you have to install a hood pin to ground out or anything?

    • @LUCAMTire
      @LUCAMTire  Před 3 lety +1

      No I already had a hood pin in place as a sensor for door open or hood open warning light.
      If your vehicle is not equipped with one you will need to put a hood switch in or bypass. Not sure how bypass works.
      Prolly just run a wire to ground from hood sensor wire. Best to put in hood switch though for safety scenarios incase working on engine and engine starts by pressing button by mistake.

    • @LUCAMTire

      The key will not work in the ignition if it is not cut for the lock cylinder. So yes you would need your keys cut before to program using this method in the video

    • @LUCAMTire
      @LUCAMTire  Před 4 lety +1

      I am not sure. You would need to see which kit needs to go for your truck.
      It could be but I am not sure. Different models and packages may take different kits.
      Search your year make model size engine and see what comes back for options for your vehicle and take it from there.

      Also 2010 has a 5.4 so different computers in the vehicle so might be different for number coding. You can search on the forscan website for module code changes through there forums.

      For the most part I am not overly far when trying to start it. Works alright. I dont need to carry a extra key fob with me is what I like.
      May have some issues through brick walls or high signal areas. For the most part if there is a straight line of sight it works. No complaints from my side of things. Others may differ.

      You sure can take it to ford and I am sure they will happily assist you.
      But if you are looking to save some money and believe you can achieve the out come on your own here is a video to help you understand the scenario.
      I achieved obtaining the remote start kit and installing everything with programing with a few hours of my time.
      In end result I was able to save 600$CAD
      Ford was going to charge me $1000 plus tax.
      I obtained and installed for $400 x years ago.
      Pay extra and have some one else install a remote start for you or do it yourself. The decision is yours to make.
