  • This circular Cairngorms walk takes in the four Munro's of Cairn Gorm, Beinn Mheadhoin, Derry Cairngorm and Ben Macdui. An enjoyable, clear day although and bit blowy on the tops.

    I had to do most Munro’s solo after my climbing pal had a hip replacements. Fortunately he was a rock climber and I did most of the Cuillin Munro’s with him. I managed Sgurr Mhic Choinnich on my own but I needed Martin Moran, the guide to get me up Inn Pinn.I’m pleased that on your Munro videos , the routes you have taken have almost always been the same as I took so it’s great to be able to retrace almost every step.
    Thanks again , Charlie.

    Great video. The only time I was on Cairngorm the weather station looked like an over iced Christmas cake. Derry Cairngorm was my last hill, done in shorts November 2007 from Derry Lodge. As we sat on, top a squad of soldiers came running by from Ben Macdui, goodness knows where they were going. Now all my walking is done on CZcams. Thanks for the adventure.

      Hello, What a cracking hill to complete on and especially coming in from Derry Lodge when you're certainly warmed up before taking the height. Glad our outing provided a wee flashback to your day. Many thanks for watching. Cheers, Charlie.

    A real treat, Charlie, for anyone who's been across the tundra. The crunch of feet on the grit really re-creates the experience. Many, many thanks.

      Hi Geoffrey, The grit paths are one of the many Cairngorm attributes that makes for an enjoyable experience. I can never quite understand some walkers dislike for the high plateau. Cheers, Charlie.

    Looks like you’d a grand day Charlie. I headed west to Ballachulish, shared the the wind with you but certainly didn’t get any views. I have to say I’m always impressed with the speed you two move at..

    • @charliemccartney7055
      @charliemccartney7055  Před 2 lety +1

      Hi Russell, The forecast looked as if you needed to be in the east for the best chance of clear tops. The wind was a bugger but the clear tops made up for it.
      We try and keep the hill legs going with some local hill walking when not away at the bigger tops which helps keep us reasonably fit but there isn't an easy answer you've just got to go do it. Cheers, Charlie.

    Good stuff guys, lovely scenery. I've not been that far east yet, probably next year for me now with the days shortening and rough weather recently. Certainly could feel the wind just watching some of those scenes, especially those quivering tufts at the last cairn. Looking forward to the next one. Cheers, Andy.

      @charliemccartney7055  Před 2 lety +1

      Hi Linda, Yes, I saw your Cairngorm trip with the midges. Beinn Mheadhoin is that bit different than the norm but it’s generally been blowing a gale when we’re there which involves lying on the rock. The Cairngorms is special and has a totally different feel to any other areas. The long walk just to get to the hills adds to the love/hate feeling that walkers have for the place. Many thanks for watching. Cheers, Charlie.
