  • This walk takes in the two Munros Beinn a' Bhuird and Ben Avon (Leabaidh an Daimh Bhuidhe) from Glen Quiche which involves a cycle and walk to complete the in/out route. These are the most easterly tops in the Cairngorms.
    A super weather day with the wind settling down into the afternoon.

    I walked these two hills with my ten year old daughter, years ago when my knees still worked. We camped near where you left your bikes. The highlight was seeing Dotterels on Being a' Bhuird.

    Nice one Charlie! Crazy to think , but I was cycling up Glen Lui and you were cycling up Glen Qoich at the very same point in time😂… Tuesday 13th Sept. Did Devil’s Point, Cairn Toul, Sgorr An Lochan Uaine and Carn A Mhaim. Weather was stunning! Though I saw snow on Cairn Toul on Friday.
    Weather was just as good for The White Mounth circuit the next day.
    Thanks for the advice a few week’s ago…. The bike hire from Breamar Mountain Sports was just spot on.
    Keep the videos coming Charlie, they keep a lad from South Yorkshire in touch with The Munro’s of Scotland. Brilliant.

    That's possibly my favourite Cairngorms route. Ben Avon is a remarkable landscape, and is so vast you could build a small city on it.

    Another stunning video gents, thank you. The views you got were glorious. I see Autumn has well and truly arrived. This was a big day for you. The Cairngorms always provide long walks, but these two in particular, even by Cairngorms standards, and whichever way you approach them, give you a seriously long walk. Well done.

    Hi Charlie! I had been looking at these but by a completely different route? I know there are lots of options but is this route a popular route? Do you do your own GPS files? Really enjoyed watching this and look forward to visiting these! Cheers. Paul

    • @charliemccartney7055
      @charliemccartney7055  Před rokem +1

      Paul, I think the route that Frank completed is the popular route. We've never done that as our preference is this glen which is stunning and the paths are ideal for covering the ground.
      We record the walking on our GPS but don't bother making routes prior to the start. Remember,
      guide books or walkhighlands are only one option and not set in stone as a must do route 😂
      Cheers, Charlie

    Nice one Charlie & Mike, looks a lovely way in thru that Glen, I was awe struck with the steep cliffs once you were up on the plateau.
    Big change in landscape from Skye Charlie, in that note did you not get to do sgurr Nan Gillean & Am Basteir when you were up there.? Can’t see a vid of them from yourself.?

      Hi Frank, We didn't get the two in the north this time due to a last minute cancellation for our original guide. Fortunately Skyeguides were able to accommodate us and save the week but it wasn't possible to include these two. Not a big issue for us as we don't actually need them to complete our next round.
      The last visit to the north end was May 18 and there is a video in the library showing the day. Cheers, Charlie
