Hey guys,
In this video I head out on a rainy walk to the beautiful Thornton-Le-Dale which is my favourite place for a Yorkshire walk, even in this weather! I was scouting out some potential wild camping locations for a future wild camp. In this day explore vlog I got to test out my new coat Kathmandu (description below) which was great and will be coming on my future explores and wild camping trips.
I had great fun today hiking in rain, having a coffee with the locals (😂 the sheep) and exploring this lovely village.

Hey guys, currently editing a few videos I've filmed over the last couple of months, this was a little trip over to the beautiful Thornton-Le-Dale, I wasn't going to film this walk but I wanted to show you this stunning little village so I made a quick video whilst out! I was born in Lancashire and raised in Yorkshire.
Emigrated to Canada for 35 years in Ontario.
Now I’m back on the edge of Yorkshire in a village on the saddleworth moor (Delph)
A area still civilised and English.

@@ukcarrieoutdoors9840 oh yes. Lots of wilderness in Canada.Although most people must live by a city for employment.
Camping there in summer is nice and warm/hot. But bugs are a real big issue.
Black flies,mosquitoes,ticks.
If out in the wild camping there then bears,coyotes,moose can be a deadly threat.
Winter is too extreme and long.
Yorkshire is my home and there truly is no place like home.
I’m disappointed at what has happened to my homeland though whilst I was away.
Grew up in Northern Ontario (Rainbow Country) now living in Oxfordshire. I agree about the mosquitos

Thornton le Dale is a lovely place. Was there earlier in the year at matthewsons classic cars.

Lovely…I like Th/Dale that jigsaw cottage is fantastic but the car museum is the attraction… 😮
I had some Solomon walking trainer’s, very comfy lasted ages but found them a little slippery on Certain surfaces, like a surprise slip … type thing.. 🤔
Oh I’ll have to watch out for that, so far no surprise slips 😂

Hiya lovey. Good to see you out n about, despite the rain and mud. After so long throughout the years with the horses, I don't do mud anymore...but do hope you get to do an overnighter at some point! Sheep aren't reliable, we had one when I was a kid but it lost it's rag, it's spare rag and it's spare spare rag then attacked me for no good reason.

Amazing! May have to go there for my New Years Day walk. Is it a formal route? Or is it just following footpaths and making your own one up?
It’s a formal route, there’s a few ways towards it, and it can go in many directions depending on how far you want to walk. It’s a perfect place for a NYD walk, ideal start to the year 🙌🏻

That lovely cottage looks in danger of flooding during these storms we get nowadays. Nice little walk not unlike sections of the Teesdale Way which I did a part of from Barnard Castle a couple of weeks ago. I think you'd enjoy sections of the Weardale way too which isn't far from me.
