HEY GUYS,
I TOOK A TRIP DOWN TO ONE OF MY ALL TIME FAVOURITE WILD CAMPING SPOTS IN MY AREA FOR A RAINY WILD CAMP. I HAD A CHEAP BUDGET TENT, THE VANGO SOUL 200 WHICH I NEVER USE SO I THOUGHT I'D BRING IT ALONG FOR THIS TRIP. IT WASN'T THE BEST NIGHT SLEEP AND I DON'T THINK IT WILL BE COMING ON ANYMORE TRIPS WITH ME- BUT IT'S ALL GOOD FUN!

It's always nice to return to a favourite place after a few years. Like you I can't wait for some long summer days so I can get among the Lakeland fells. Loved the Tawny owls calling out in the night xx

I would have liked to have seen those geese in the video that were making all the noise. Nevertheless it was a great pitch👌
The only negative camping in that spot in summer I can see is the potential for waterborne insects and forest insects.

Yes in summer it’s a nightmare- head net is essential during the summer nights near the water otherwise it’s torture 😂

I agree about the sound of rain on canvas, i was out Sunday 31st march and woke up to rain at 4.00am and just listened to it for a couple of hours.

Hi, that looked a bit like Dalby forest. Ive recently found your videos and I enjoy seeing my local countryside from a different viewpoint. Id love to wild camp, but I'm a chicken. 😂
No need to be - it’s an amazing experience, I mean I still do have worries and stuff but it’s definitely worth it!
That’s a nice setup there! I’ve always wanted to get into bushcraft and wild camping, I’ve only ever done normal camping on a Duke of Edinburgh with cadets decades ago. I’m thinking of getting a decent 2 man tent that I can move around with on foot. I’d probably be screwed with that one since I’m 6ft 3, I’d have to open the door whenever I want to stretch (or go diagonal).
I already have the 60 litre backpack (apparently you can get away with 40L, but only if you minimise and know how to pack properly). The dog is adorable, it’s like having a little teddy! 🥺🥺 I can totally relate to what you said about the sound of rain outside, it’s kind of peaceful. I can’t help but think to myself “ha ha I’m in here and they’re out there” every time it happens though lol
You should definitely get out for a wild camp if you can 🙌🏻

Great video. Looks a great little spot for chilling out. Dune, how does that play on digital platform?. It's a game I've never played. Digital or table top. Have you tried Everdell on IOS? There's so many good board game implementations on IOS nowadays to keep you entertained on camps.
dune is an excellent game I absolutely love it, it plays really well on the app it’s addictive! You can play with friends, solo with AI opponents or in online games with other people it’s so fun.
I do have the Everdell game on my phone, but I don’t find it as enjoyable as the board game it doesn’t play as well I don’t think.
But yea perfect for camping nights 🙌🏻

Have you ever had any dramas wild camping in england? I’ve always been worried about getting reported, i’ve always left early with no trace etc, but i feel like i can’t fully relax as i know some people get funny about it
No none, the closest I got was when a member of public saw me getting my backpack out of my car and accused me of heading out to illegally fish 😂 he took photos of me and the car and said he’d call the police as I didn’t have permission to fish in the area (I don’t fish just for the record 😂 he just assumed as I had a backpack) that’s the only crazy thing I’ve experienced.
However if I was ever approached while out I would simply just apologise and move on. I think there is only drama when you refuse to leave, as long as your respectful of the area and set up late and leave early there shouldn’t be any worries and always leave a location if your asked to without been confrontational. But I’ve never experienced it- that’s not to say I won’t at some point 🙌🏻
