    My Zip Navigator is the single most important investment in golf gear I've ever made. Word can't describe how good it is.

  • @richdouglas2311
    @richdouglas2311 Před 2 lety +6

    I have it. I love it. The learning curve is a little steeper than this video implies, however. It's challenge, at first, to keep it on track and out of trouble. But that quickly goes away. The only time now that I spill it is when it hits an unseen hole it can't get over.
    For the past 30 years, I've either carried or trollyed my clubs whenever possible. This device makes it sooooo much easier to do that I look forward to it. The freedom it provides cannot be overstated. It feels great and my energy level is much higher nearing the end of a round.
    Yes, a cart bag is recommended. Some stand bags have a feature that lets you secure the legs, but this puts a constant strain on them. Because I now either use the Zip or a cart, I got the version that came with a lightweight cart bag. (The red/white/blue color scheme of the bag matches the same found in the wheels; they're designed as a set.)
    Not mentioned is the alignment function. If your Zip Navigator tends to roll offline, as mine did, aligning it is a breeze. I did it once and now it goes straight as can be.
    It takes up as much (or as little) room in my vehicle as did my manual trolley. It's obviously heavier, but not too much. And it folds and unfolds in a snap.
    When I owned a BMW with a hard top convertible, I used to get the oohs and aahs. I get that here with the Zip Navigator as well. You end up becoming a spokesperson for it, but I guess that's okay.
    Oh, and disconnect the battery when not using the trolley. Otherwise it will drain the battery, even when not in use.

    Brought a MGI navigator 3 years and 3 months ago, spent ~$2,000 on it, did not use it for 18 months because of lockdowns, electronics unit is no longer working and has to be replaced (at a cost of $408), and MGI has said that they can not help... "Unfortunately due to the age of your buggy we're unable to supply a discount for this repair"... can get a new buggy for $500 with new 12 month warrantee... will tell anyone I can to shop around and avoid MGI like the plague...
    Thanks team

    I’ve bought this today and I love it. So easy to use. If you want to turn just press left/right fast a few times so it turns smooth. Folds away really small.
    I tee off. I send it to the fairway meet up change club and then send it to where I “ want “ to hit the ball.
    Now I can smoke and drink with ease.

    I own the zip navigator and he’s 100% right about needing the stop button in a better spot. I don’t like to put the remote in my pocket and the bracket is too far away from the handle to make it easy to take it in and out for an entire round. So I bought a magnet with a strap and have that on the handle and stuck a metal plate on the remote.

    • @Blue_Dun
      @Blue_Dun Před rokem

      I feel like I'd be hitting the stop button accidentally more often if it were in the middle. Once you get used to it I think it's in a safer spot in my opinion.

    Ive had the AT version for 2+ years and its the best golf related item ive ever bought. Yes it can tip, mine has dumped 4-5 times mostly due to excess speed on my part or not seeing a huge dip or hole when its running in front of me in the fairway. Best advice ive received on a forum review is to put a weight in the ball pocket of your bag, i use an old piece of brass that weighs about 8-10 lbs doesnt affect battery and makes the cart much more stable as all the clubheads make the cart top-heavy

    • @NewNineGolf

    Nice video. I’ve seen other electric and non-electric carts have an issue with the stability of the umbrella holder when in use. Many of the umbrella holders adjustment base breaks and cracks from the weakness of the materials used when holding the umbrella and movement of the cart on uneven terrain.

    • @richdouglas2311
      @richdouglas2311 Před 2 lety

      I'm glad I didn't get one with the "follow" function. (MGI doesn't make one, but others do.) There is simply no way to ensure it won't get into trouble behind you, and navigating tight spots would be much tougher. It sounds neat walking down a fairway, but navigating a water bridge or a tight path between holes can be difficult. I think you can navigate it manually in those situations, though.

      @@TMar1961 Agreed. I'd be afraid of forgetting it and then walking into something really bad. But I don't want to criticize something ("follow") I've never even tried. Faced with a consumer decision, I decided that among the three types of electric trollies--manual operation, remote, and follow--remote was right for me. But I could be completely wrong about follow.

    I have this unit and also use a stand bag with it. My advice if you don’t want to buy a new cart bag is to just put a bungee cord around your bag and the legs so they won’t ever open while using this unit. It’s as simple as that. Cord cost $2.00. Problem fixed.

    • @NewNineGolf
      @NewNineGolf  Před 8 měsíci

      Most bags have a built in strap or bungee cord for your legs. Just annoying to use. The problem is also the top of the bag where the legs are. Doesn't sit flush on the unit. I've tried multiple bags and it gets turned on its side or just makes it unstable. Design flaw with alot of electric carts. Not just this one.

  • @ronlebreton4274
    @ronlebreton4274 Před rokem

    Just picked this unit up at Costco, first all I really love the thing but I would definitely do some things differently on the engineering side. I don't like that I have use different charging sources for the cart battery and the remote, no reason that the the remote charger couldn't be amalgamated into the cart battery charger. I use a garmin watch style GPS so GPS holder is not important for me but on my model it isn't removable and makes the compartment useless for anything else and when that compartment door is open it interferes with removing and replacing clubs. The umbrella holder is limited to what type of umbrella you can use. The bottle holder attachment points seem pretty flimsy and are always in the way when closing the cart. If you use the seat it is a separate piece and doesn't fold down into the cart. There is a separate score card holder on a flimsy mount also and since there is also one on the back of the GPS holder if your not using the GPS the second one is redundant. Moving the battery forward and under the cart would have made far more stable, it spends a lot of time riding on the forth wheel even on slight inclines, it would also afford a little protection from rain. I would have incorporated some type of mechanism to secure the battery as it may fall out when you invariably tip it. I wish they had put a few holes as tee holders and maybe a place for a couple balls. They could have put a USEB outlet on the unit. If you stop it on a hill it still likes to roll slowly away so fidgeting to get it in spot that it stops is a distraction also.. I know I will be adding weight to the bottom of my bag to aid in stability.

    Looks like you have the same bag as I do (Vessel Player III DXR). Why not just clip the legs under the elastic cord on the bag? It prevents them from engaging and I don’t have any issues. You could also purchase a clicgear bag cozy to help as well. Hope that helps.

    I got one as a retirement gift and took it out on a hilly course with some rough terrain between one green and the next tee, etc. It tipped over backwards several times going up hills and the 4th wheel could not save it. And my stand bag did not fare well. I'll invest in a new cart bag before taking it back out. I've read that people put 2-3 pounds of lead weights in the bottom pocket of their bags to counterbalance the top heaviness created by the club heads combined with the location of the battery. Anyone have experience wirh this?

    • @NewNineGolf
      @NewNineGolf  Před rokem

      I’ve heard of that as well. I play a very hilly course as well and I have to be mindful on where I need to hold the cart. They can’t outsmart gravity. That being said o only have to hold it for 5% of my round or less.

    This is not B.S…. My new MGI Navigator Zip A.T. buggy rec’d water damage after running into a drainage ditch. MGI warranty does not cover this. My repair bill was in excess of 50% of the original purchase price! Additional insurance may help you? But be sure to read the fine print.

    How small is the boot of your SUV that you couldn't fit the bag in the back with the MGI? I've seen people with small hatchbacks get one in the back with their clubs no problem.
    Also, going up the hill when the front wheel were off the ground you mentioned it was easy to control.... were you still able to steer it without the front wheels touching?

      @NewNineGolf  Před 2 lety +1

      It's a Midsize SUV. Its the shape of it more than anything. You may be able to put it on top of the unit on the angle?
      Ya the front wheels come up because the bag I had on it was super light. Ya you can still steer it but not ideal because jt would turn really quickly so it needs that front wheel to regain traction. But if you have a heavier bag, preferably a cart bag. The front wheels do not come off the ground as easily. Hope that helps.

You better read the warranty very closely, 2, to replace the battery it`s going to cost you $430.00 3, other replacement are expensive, 4, you have to send to a service center once a year for service. 5, and if you roll it in a pond your well , they tell you to buy another one. 5 ?, 6, Well with all that said.
