Usually when a wrestler wins a World Title it’s a moment which signifies that they’ve made it to the top of the industry, and going forward on they’ll remain at the top of the card. Sadly though, as history has shown us, this is not always the case. No, sometimes a performer reaches the mountaintop only to fall back down again after their title reign is over. But who are the biggest examples of this in wrestling history? Well, that’s exactly what we’re going to be looking at today.

Guys like Big E, Kofi, Dolph and Rey never went back to the main event scene after losing their titles really sucks because they’ve work so hard at getting the championship and never got a chance to get it back

Dolph Ziggler is probably the most screwed wrestler of the 2000s & 2010s. He proved that he has the ability to be a main event talent. Even after winning the world heavyweight title, I felt like they should have done more with the reign. After he lost it, He never got the opportunity to win it again.

The problem with swagger as whc is that he was not ready for the main event/ he was booked 50/50 and worst all he lost his iconic entrance no more push ups nor pyro

I mean he's still pretty sick he was just booked in a "modern" "socially acceptable" way for kids in a way bunch of rich online coastal elites think India would like. The way Vince and wwe treated Kofi was disgusting. All that build up to win the wwe championship and all the hard work Kofi put y into his reign and Vince still treated him as a mid card loser. Kofi deserved better.

Not really. It’s not like his title reign was just the usual. His lasted for 666 days. It would idiotic to demote him after that accomplishment. He’s pretty much ready to challenge for the World Heavyweight Championship, whoever gets it.
They are setting him up to fued with Cody for the next two months while Roman takes some Time off.
The ic title reign was just a warmup. It just shows how much a workhorse champion he is and he can be a dominant champ like roman. The world heavyweight championship gladly waits for him 😈😈

And since sheamus lost to Gunther in SummerSlam, winning that IC championship at WrestleMania with a singles match with him and Gunther would have been perfect.

We can also blame FOX for Kofi getting demolished. They thought that Kofi getting wrecked would bring added 'shock value' which would translate to good ratings.
Added shock value would be Kofi rolling up Brock and pinning him in 5 seconds.

I've always loved guys like Rey, Miz, Ziggler, kofi, Sheamus and Finn they can move up to the main event when you need them or back down for a mid card title or wherever and they always put on a good match, doesn't even matter who it's against

*While there’s no denying that The Miz has come along way for over the past decade or so but let’s be real, he had no business being WWE champion let alone being in the main event of WrestleMania in 2011. It was too early for him at that time. People had such a difficult time of taking him seriously because was never treated like a verbal threat and more like a fluky champion. Not to mention the fact that Michael Cole the biggest factor of his world title run sucked. Those were very rough times.*

Rey's character/persona always worked way better as an underdog, making him world champion (he deserved it ofc) made his character hard to work as the ultimate underdog

I don't know if it's completely fair to put Big E in here. He was injured so soon after he lost the championship. Granted he was another victim of Brock Lesnar taking the championship off a black man(literally everytime! Kofi, Lashley, and Big E.), but the injury kind of derails any theory that he would have stayed in the mid card. We just don't truly know what they would have done with him.

There are only a handful of titles in WWE. Not everyone can be a champion. Being on screen every week is more important. Look at AEW. They have 8,000 belts and none matter. Those championships are not helping the wrestler's who have them.
