  • FAILED IN WWE | Great Wrestlers that Flopped!
There are a lot of great wrestlers out there and, due to the nature of WWE being the only major league in North America for so many years, most of those wrestlers at some point passed through the doors of their promotion. But that doesn't mean all of these performers succeeded. No, for one reason or another, some failed to make the impact they should have. But what are the greatest examples of this? Well, that’s exactly what we’re going to be looking at today.

*WWE did Sting so dirty. It’s been 8 years and I’m still crossed for the way of how the company misstreated Sting just because he was a WCW legend. They made his entire run all about WWE vs. WCW which makes no sense considering the fact that WCW at that point had been dead for like 14 pissing years so what’s the point of having Sting to fight for something that’s already dead? Plus Triple H beating at ‘Mania 31 still infuriates me to this day as well. I feel like it was honestly best if Sting had never signed with WWE in the first place.*

Sting’s WWE career amounts to approximately 5% of his overall in ring career. It’s not an upset. Sting signed with Vince late in the game simply for the HOF credit.
He’s said that after wcw Vince offered him a contract many times over the years but he declined.
Had he joined any earlier Vince would have buried him anyway due to his prejudice towards wcw talent. After a successful run in TNA he had nothing left to prove.
If anything going to the wwe was merely Dan service. He was way past his prime at that point. Therefore any chance of creating genuine magic in the ring was already gone.

I will die on this hill forever, Sting should’ve beaten Triple H at WrestleMania 31. No one would’ve thought that one of the top guys in WCW would come over to WWE and the logical thing to do is to have HHH put over Sting but it was not the creative decision 🤦‍♂️

    • @davidepling724
      @davidepling724 Před 3 měsíci +4

Sting going over Triple H is simple wish fulfilment. He didn’t need the win. He was already over with the fans, past his prime athletically, already a former world champion (WCW,NWA), one of the most recognisable and accomplished pro-wrestlers in the industry.
Also one of few that made his name outside of the wwe, a unique distinction that only few can claim. The real disappointment is not facing the undertaker during the naughties. If he had signed after wcw, it could have been the biggest dream match ever. Both men in their prime. Sting’s run in the wwe at the time that it happened was merely fan service. He came to get his HOF credit that’s it.

I think WWE are copping unfair heat about Kharma.
Kharma discovered she was pregnant soon after her first match.
WWE gave her time off to have the baby (they couldn't really have her wrestle pregnant).
However, Kharma lost the baby. One story is that she was three months pregnant before she even knew, but because of her weight, it wasn't obvious, and that she wrestled while pregnant but unaware of it.
Her finisher is a splash and there was a question that this might have played a part in her miscarrying.
As a result, Kharma felt tremendous guilt that she may have inadvertently killed her own baby, a baby she had always wanted, and it caused her to have a mental health breakdown and she needed therapy.
By this stage, Kharma was on WWE's books for two years and hadn't wrestled. Plus she needed time away from wrestling to get her life back in order after a tremendous tragedy.
WWE couldn't hold her spot open forever and moved on. But they weren't unfair or ruthless like the video made out. It was just bad timing.

WWE had wanted him for years but his WWE run was short and uneventful.
He had one memorable match, a Hardcore match against Hardcore Holly when Williams was managed by the Bells Palsy suffering then heel commentator Jim Ross.
But Williams was old and out of shape at the time he joined WWE.
The WWE planned to push him big by having him win the "Brawl For All", but since it was unscripted, he was unceremoniously beaten by Bart Gunn, stalling his push.
Since Williuams got humbled, Vince lost interest in pushing him anymore.

ECW was THE Hardcore Underground wrestling promotion that you had to watch behind your parent's backs, and THAT is saying something because WWF/WWE was not PG-friendly either. I was into ECW in a different way than WWF, so I wanted Jerry Lynn to succeed just like RVD did in WWE. I remember even being disappointed that in Smackdown Just Bring It, his finisher was a typical tornado ddt and not the cradle piledriver he did in ECW. Lynn's matches with RVD are what I point to when people say that ECW was not "Real" wrestling (in particular to haters like Jim Cornette). It did have a lot of pure hardcore uncoordinated nonsense, but Pauly's ECW was certainly great wrestling.

Though it’s not a big deal to me but I think wwe should have done more than just the buff and booker match. I feel like they should’ve done it for at least a month if not longer. But doing it once is odd. You’d think they’d try to learn and do better or at least keep trying to see what happens with other people to see if it was just a bad night with book and buff.
Just have found it odd that they didn’t keep at it. To get more reactions from other matches and such but oh well.

Sting vs Taker would have been ill-fated. Both men were past their prime, the streak was already broken, the match wouldn’t live up to expectations. Sting needed to sign with the wwe during the naughties, whilst both men were in their prime. 2015 was too late. It was a blessing in disguise that the match didn’t happen.

I heard the reason why sting lost to triple h is that triple h said he wanted to go over because it was suppose to be triple h vs rock at the next wrestlemania abd triple h didnt want to go into that fued with a loss already. Terry Gordy's I think needs a big asterisk on his run in WWE
He was three year removed from a drug induced coma that caused brain damaged that forced him to have to relearn how to wrestle and even talk so his skills were hampered by more than just age.
And in fairness to WWE, reportedly, they gave him the mask to protect his identity as to protect the legends reputation on TV if his skills weren't as good as they once were which they sadly weren't.
