I feel like someone could just make a mod to do this, and be totally random so you could just keep building while they keep falling.
If you're playing with disasters, one of the vanilla maps has a giant lake in the middle. When you put a meteor right in the center of it, you also get a tsunami from the displaced water.
I got used to the more serious cities skylines players and now it hurts to see a city being built like this lmao

I’m so used to watching actual Cities Skylines CZcamsrs who do beautiful cities I forgot this was RCE… the house directly at the motorway ending u-turn reminded me real quick though

Actually, I like the idea of a random disaster every 10 minutes and the starting land is on a peninsula (as I don't think there are islands in the game, are there?).

@2:32 the pocket cars are whats happening. CS people can just pull a car out of their pocket start driving as if every sidewalk is a parking lot. Its one of my least favorite things about this game, and the pedestrian zones only made this pocket car thing even worse. I've spent all this time making a nice route to the tourist beach with plenty of transportation, and it was all completely useless because the whole area instantly gridlocked because POCKET CARS and there is like 1000 people pulling our their pocket cars at once all getting onto the road at once, instead of using the parking lot 10 feet down the road, or the free public transportation 10 feet down the road right next to the free parking.

With a location choice based on a clock, you should build the most crucial parts of town in the middle of the square, so... every meteor would miss it.
Then make the city dump, grave yard and stuff like that out in the edges where the meteors will strike!

I have a very good video idea
Gather all your editors and make them all have 3 chances to make the cheapest,best and most efficient bridge, or the best score on any motorway game(e.g AQR, that one train game, ect...), or who make the longest and most efficient shapes.And see who is the best editor and is worthy of the rank of a classified engineering. From me.
Should start the timer after unlocking landscaping. Gives you a bit more time to prep, and doesnt make so many start, like having two meteors from the start

you are a Engineer but went with a clockwise target, thats such a architect way
a true Engineer would go with a 3x3 or 4x3 grid in the map, so it wouldnt leave the middle empty

What mod are you using for painting districts? Random disasters would be amazing. Really force you to adapt.
If you're talking about painting the zoning, that's a vanilla feature.
now do a meteor every 10 second and you pick the destination by closing your eyes and wiggling your mouse and clicking blindly
both gives you more of a chance to not be hit while also allowing you to be it anywhere

Randomized disasters, definitely. And turn the city into a grid instead so you don't actually need to build in a circle! I'd expect an engineer to favour a grid over a circle. Circles are architect shapes.

The best way to get rid of dumps is to use the building collapse on them and then bulldoze it, which will only destroy the landfill and not the roads or nearby buildings or anything

You don't need a meteor to get rid of dumps and cemetaries. Just use a collapse and you can demolish the ruin.

So is it just me, or is it possible that dropping a meteor into a crater previously formed by another meteor actually helps to mitigate the damage? Haven't played enough Skylines to know if the damage radius is constant or if it's really affected by terrain enough to matter.

You should get a mod that does that for you so you can set how often the disasters are and then it is just a random disaster every 10 min with out you needing to spin a wheel or whatever.

Instead of a clock position decider, use a grid system with a random number generator to determine the appropriate grid to even things out.

matt, my friend if you design the areas where the meteors are gonna hit like a clock, wouldn´t it be easier to build everything in the middle? the chances of getting hit would be slim, and you would always have the core of your city. just saying

There's a surprising amount of demand in your world for dying in a massive explosion.
What i learned from this video is, if you have to much garbage on a planet, throw a meteor at it.

I got natural disaster pack about a month ago and nothing happened in my main city but suddenly at one point today I got four disasters in the span of like probably half an hour and I did not make them happen I’m seriously not kidding
