    should I do reviews ?

    • @SaberFTW
      @SaberFTW Před 7 lety +5

      I'd say reviews are cool if you gave honest ones (not afraid to crap on a product if it does indeed suck) as well as giving out stuff to subs.
      Cool with other tutorials on another channel.
      Not cool with vloggy stuff.
      keep up the good work. love all your vids.

      So long as you do the reviews honestly and with the same style and humor as your regular videos, I'd see them pretty much the same as your regular videos.

    • @milos1380
      @milos1380 Před 7 lety +1

      I think you should make a few reviews (maybe 4-5) as a trial and then decide if you want to continue.
      Also, doing reviews in exchange for free stuff isn't selling out; giving praise in exchange for free stuff is selling out.

      Keep this channel purely for repairs and serious educational content. You don't want to have silly stuff on this channel so a second channel for the reviews, Q&A, outtakes & funny stuff etc would be great Mr Ichiban Moto.

    and no on a second channel. you'll create a schism. there will be dilution of time, attention and thus end result. focus on one thing. do it well. the only time to split is when you've got something so automated, it runs itself and you have nothing but time on your hands.

  • @JanAndHenk
    @JanAndHenk Před 7 lety

    Hi Ichiban, great that you ask and many thanks for the hours of amusement you provide worldwide. I would not object to any product reviews as long as you keep true to yourself: amazing and educational Ichiban reviews discussing alternative usage, corrosion resistance, combined usage, personal mods, value for money, redundance or even scrap value of the products you are offered - with some rigorous testing. That is not selling out in my book and what else would these manufacturers expect? Just go with the flow and milk 'm dry. I cannot comment on the multiple channel issue, would not know if that is good or bad. You will figure it out.

  • @floflospeed24

    As I am sure many have said, do the reviews honestly. I like the ideas of giving away one of each rewiew (pick me! pick me!), but not totally required.
    The whole honesty thing works 2 ways. It keeps you free and clear of "Selling Out", and if you are not really into it, maybe companies will see you aren't going to give them a Hummer (marketing term) every time they send you something, and stop bugging you to do the reviews.
    As for the second channel, yes. I could use more content to fill up my boring, non creative life.

    yo ichiban, this is just my opinion. I really dislike that idea about doing reviews on stuff(basically selling out) because then mostly this channel will be spam. instead do it another channel. also i like the idea of q&a. get questions from forums or from us. and i dont like how you give shout outs to people just because they gave you stuff. i really like to say more but thats basically the main idea of mine.

Don't make reviews of bad ass products only, be sure to review crap stuff too. Otherwise I'm going to skip all your review vids (like I do with ETCG). If second channel is full of positive review vids (and generally lower average quality content vids), I will probably skip that entire channel. Like mcmtv2. Only so much I can watch! Keep it real. Honest reviews would be nice and hell, who doesn't like free stuff? If a company wants to give you free stuff to make an honest video on your thoughts about the product then go for it! Should there be a separate channel? I think not. I don't look at the additional content as diluting your current channel but rather, I see it as pumping new blood into your existing channel.

    I'd say that if you do the reviews in the same manor as you demonstrate your custom tools and shop tips, than put the reviews on this channel. If you intend to do honest reviews or sell out reviews than I would say go with a second channel. Any company that sends you stuff for review has probably watched your videos and appreciate your sense of humor and are just hoping to get their name recognized through your channel.

    If you are able to maintain the level of information and humor that you currently produce, I will be happy to follow.
