vapor blasting, or vapour honing, is my new favorite alloy finish. the blasting process gently peens the surface as it cleans and leaves a badass luster satin finish. Unlike bead , sand or other abrasive dry blasting processes, this wet vapor blasting media is surrounded in a cushion of water leaving a clean, dust free surface prep and looks like new die case alloy as is. badass awesome for engine cases, heads and covers.

My heart warms at the mention of the use of blasting grade PSI. So many other lesser DIY-ers neglect to use the proper flavour of air. The one from external storage may be a bit stale when it is released, but will still do the job!

BADASS!! I visited my local vapor shop and got the liquid it was expensive but it smells nice, now i just need to buy another blast cabinet and convert it.
Camaro Rick you can actually do this with an old Chicken incubator. My uncle used to convert a few of those. If you know how to handle a screwdriver, shouldn’t take you longer than an afternoon.
I haven't been up that way in years. Still looks exactly the same! Here's a fun fact about me. Sometime around 1976, I went flying down that pedestrian bridge on my bike, lost control and hit the guard pole at the bottom.

Once I built a 3 story building with assembly tape, always use the GREEN ties to hang the doors and windows, the other colors won't pass Code.

You could mount the pressure tank on a washing machine and set to spin cycle for improved agitation.
Ditto - this really works. When I need auxilliary agitation I have a sandbag that I launder. (a) I'm very particular about keeping my sandbag/sand clean and hygienic and (b) it creates a perfectly unbalanced washing machine drum.
I laid a patio last summer and used my debalanced washing machine (bolted to an old concrete paving slab) as a compactor for the gravel/aggregate sub-layer.

Green zip ties are way to strong for that application, yellow ones will be plenty for external psi pressure
No! They need to be pressure-rated zip ties and according the International Zip Type Specification Consortium (IZTSC), green are the only pressure rated ones.

Hi Mr Badass, love the video, can you please be more specific about converting the narrow to wide blast.... you use tool putty to attach a blast shield . ?? what is a blast shield its not really shown in your video and what tool putty should be used ?? cheers in advance

BADASS! What sort of wiper fluid mix do you use to make sure that you don't get streaking from the media? I've installed an intermittent wiper setting which allows a little mystery and excitement between wipes!

Hey ichi, I’ve been following u for awhile now, but ive been having trouble on achieving the results that you’ve had, such as the soda blaster. And other projects. I’m sure my zip ties are good, as the color coordination is spot on, but my assembly tape is a source of many leaks. I am using 3m r4400 ultra, which my service specialist says is the best psi rated tape allowed for my state. Do I need to move?
I’m only subscribed to a few Channels and I ONLY subscribe to the best of the best.
This was an easy decision.

Hello sir. I have some questions about vapor blasting aftercare. Question 1. How to protect aluminum and cast iron engine parts after vapor honing what is the after care like water soluble rust inhibitor or aerosol spray. Question 2. How to safe media like glass bead and sodium bicarbonate after vapor honing process into the hopper will it be rest and stayed like a stone or should be use another protection for it. Question 3. How to remove glass beads from thin spaces after vapor blasting.

What if you made the slurry hot? When Cleaning engine parts, hot water solution along with the pressure breaks down git and grime a lot quicker.

Have you ever tried walnut shells in this system? Also maybe a material recollection basin.
Sounds a lot safer than fine particles of glass flying everywhere. And the walnut shells (which which are actually tiny pieces similar to sand) you can just let fall onto the ground, even your lawn. It's environmentally friendly-just don't inhale the stuff LOL.
