once praying tahajjud during ramadan i have had the experience of being surrounded by light and a warmth, it was really overwhelming brought tears to my eyes may Allah (SWT) guide all to the right path.

Brilliant. I started mediating after isha prayers for few minutes.I blend dhikir and remembrance of Allah.knowing that Allah is watching me all the time and I have to do good deeds.

I meditate sometimes when I finish my regular prayers that I begin to talk to God from my heart to his heart in my own words and then I keep silent and I meditate I find it very nourishing Ahamdumiliah
but don't ever meditate like hindo. like they say omm and make a circle from hand.
So do I and have for years. For me, meditation brings me closer to Allah and is a natural extension of prayer.

Interesting. But no mention of Jewish or Christian roots at the time of Prophet Mohammad. There is reference to he and companions visiting the monks at St Catherine Monastery. There were no Hindus or Buddhists in Arabia in the 7th century right?

meditation is natural just like hibernation and nature is great. Islam means surrender to peace or god the peace because salaam means peace and ish means god in Arabic. That is why Mohammed taught namaz to make person at peace and laid stress on justice for peace in society. Sufis has right idea about meditation because it is natural. Thinking reciting imagining memorizing are not natural because languages and concepts or ideas are artificial creation of human society. they may help to calm down and peace but they can be hypnotic in beneficial or not beneficial way. meditation is to be at salaam and find Allah through deep deep salaam.

I like Dr. Ally's explanations and lectures. Hindu tradition of meditation begins from purifying one's body and mind and culminates into ending or merging our identity or soul into God. It has 8 stages and the last stage is Samadhi in which a devotee disconnects from this mundane world and fully connects to Godly consciousness. He can remain in this state for several hours or days or months depending on one's practice and depth of devotion. Islamic Namaz is also a nice path for laymen to reach God step by step everyday. I really like it as a Hindu. I just shared. Thank you.

@@user-et2mq6ic9d Well as a Hindu, I would say that whichever path you choose to reach the Almighty God is good for you as long as you sincerely desire to reach the Almighty. The very purpose of a prayer is lose one's ego, the devilish quality in oneself. As long as you have anger, a feeling of superiority over others in this world, and the attitude "my-way-is-the-only-correct-way" , the true prayer for God is impossible. Sanatan Hindu dharma is the oldest path in this world (older than 40000 years) to reach the Almighty but we never say that it is the "only" path or other "should" accept it. Only God knows the different paths that He created and delivreed to different people in this universe. We never insist on others our way of prayers and our idealogy of life, and that is the beauty of our way of life. When we force other to accept just a certain way, we possibly end up creating difficulties in our and others lives. Let there be any path, but the aim should be to reach the Almighty.

Islam introduced meditation later by following Hinduism. Search 'Adiyogi'the supreme god in Hinduism.
If you don't know it Islam is the oldest religion ofc you won't believe it as you are not Muslim and Prophet Muhammed(PBUH) meditate in Cave Hira too there were no Hindus in Arab at that time and Muslims don't follow it to open up their chakra and get supernatural power we won't believe in fairytales we just do dikhr for hours and hours to get connected to God

I'm new to meditation I try meditation after morning prayer however I feel it's more peaceful in my surroundings at work to meditate after my final prayer I just need to know if I'm supposed to be saying words to Allah or keep quiet and just focus on clearing my mind

Our Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was meditating in a cave on Mount Hira when he saw the Angel Jibril . The angel commanded him to recite the words before him. Muhammad (PBUH) had never been taught to read or write but he was able to recite the words. In this way, Allah's message continued to be revealed to Muhammad over the next 23 years.

Different dialects of the same arabic language, with the same meanings and the same number of chapters (114), doesn't mean that the Quran has changed. Why does the Catholic Bible have 73 books, the protestant Bible have 66 books, the Greek orthodox 79 books and the Ethiopian Bible have 81 books?.
This is why u need to meditate, so your mind will be only focus on the positive things. Not talking negatively about Islam.
