Really appreciate all of you! I am going to clip that first part and show my Son who is 11 and in grassroots in Scotland. He is massive, plays midfield and defence/midfield, scores, assists, has an insane penalty scoring record and was considering chucking it in a few years back. I always show him clips from your podcasts with ex footballer guests and your tips. They help a lot! Also other clips like the Dan Burn story and not giving up. Glad my lad kept going, he is no where near his peak (as a youth) and is always learning and improving- he proper loves challenges man. Where does your lad play? My lad is 10, plays at a top Scottish team. I find that keeping the level of enjoyment coupled with the hard work seems to work...ie we were asked not to allow him to have a kick about with his pals....I said no. Firmly believe he’ll progress if it’s seen as a hobby...not a chore. I’m sure you get what I mean.

Sorry its like that where you are man. Maybe the teams where you are need a better coaching system? Or better coaches or something? I was just pointing out in my comment that my lad wanted to quit a few years ago after some horrid results etc, I showed him some of Bens vids, Dan Burn vids and he kept going and now he is loving it. Soon, the effect of snus wears off. You become adjusted to it, and then go up to a higher dose to get some more effect from it. Eventually, you've been using the 4 strengths and finally decide you need to come off it. But the four-strength snus (One snus = same as full pack of cigarettes in nicotine value) is so addictive and powerful that it will be almost impossible to withstand the withdrawals.
If you are going to try snus, start at a One strength and do not bypass the two strengths.

I know nicotine, makes you feel Concentration and Mood so the player is probs more engaged with the game and maybe the mood boost gives them the confidence which I'm guessing them helps with whatever postilion they play and like in the clip snus decreases anger and stress, relaxes muscles and reduces appetite so probs it probably is a benefit on match days and training

The game is far too tactical and nuanced now for players to reach the top level from a grassroots pedigree. The amount of positional and tactical work done from a young age puts any player going in from grassroots at a massive disadvantage vs those who have been schooled in academies. Elite coaching demands players take onboard more information that ever before, academy bred players are used to this and so are able to implement what is demanded from coaches. There is a reason why the number of grassroots bred players playing at an elite level is so low as much as we fantasise about building 'real men' from grassroots. Food for thought

Spot on mate. Was just about to post something similar. My fave era growing up was mid 80s to mid 90s when a mercurial genius but sometime passengers could be accommodated to an extent. Not a chance of that at elite level now. The margins are so slim that any weakness in the system will be identified quickly and picked apart in no time. These elite academy lads are virtually machines. The pressing in packs, covering, positioning etc is so ingrained. There’s also the conditioning aspect, if they don’t get that in the critical formative years, as an academy outsider it’s a helluva task to catch that up. Then there’s the nutritional and recovery stuff as well. Ok I’ll stop now … 😩😂

Nicotine isn’t harmful to you and is on the same level as caffeine, also doesn’t hurt your lungs the way smoking does. Top level athletes go through a great deal of stress so anything that takes the edge off doesn’t seem so bad to me.

The start of this video I don’t agree with, players who haven’t had that academy experience never make it to these professional clubs if they’re over 18, once u hit 18 it don’t matter how good you are if u don’t know anyone at an academy you’re not making it as a pro

Jamie Vardy. Ivan Toney. Callum Wilson. Chris Smalling. Joe Hart. Jarrod Bowen. Danny Ings. Ashley Barnes. Troy Deeney. Yannick Bolasie. List goes on. All not from academies and a lot played as men in non league.

@@WatchMagicHappen yeah but have they had any academy experience? And if they haven’t they were playing national league level which kinda proves my point as they were all young when they were picked up from that level, Jamie vardy was 22 or something I think so you’re right with him

To claim 50% is an absolute load of shit. At Leicester for example there is 1 player in the first team squad. So less than 10%. Liverpool there are 0 in the first team squad. They are the only clubs I can personally speak on. But yeah he’s chatting absolute shit claiming 50% or higher
