@@bobsmith3291 I'm sure he had offers, but I'm guessing he wanted it to be close to home, chance of playing, and at a good combination of level and wages. He's had a decent career, has enough money, and training must be painful at his age which he has to do even if he's not #1. Again, I'm sure he would have had offers, but nothing suitable that he was up for (could be arsed with), which is fair enough. Don't think MLS would've been a go'er, especially with the channel taking off and everything. I'd say he was still good enough to be a #2 at a bottom half PL team or maybe a #1 in the Championship for a season.

Hey Ben, love the podcast! An idea for an episode or a small series of episodes could be legends of the game. For instance one episode you could talk about 5 or 6 legends of football and their career and then the next one another 5 or 6

Love the podcast boys! 18.36 Tubes asks a good question " has a player told a manager, you have got to sign him ". Ironically it was Everton to Norwich, Russel Martin told Alex Neil to sign Steven Naismith, We ( Norwich ) signed him for a club record of 9 million pounds. Then poor old Naismith who thought he was being brought in to help the club and use his experience, was hardly ever played! This information was given by Naismith himself in an interview after being asked what went wrong at Norwich

Ben and guys can you talk about should james tavernier get an England call up, look at the stats, especially Europe, I think he deserves one no matter how bad you think Scottish football is, we got to a euro final spending buttons compared to youz lot and gave West Ham a doing
He fully deserves one....even if he gets played out of position,he's bin mad good for rangers
Hevent seen a lot of Tavernier but his stats are pretty awesome. His main issue is that if thereâs one position England are really strong right now itâs right back/RWB. Walker Trippier TAA, James are all established KWP, Spence, Lamptey (unless he does to Ghana) Livramento all waiting in the wings AWB will come back into it now he has a decent coach. I think he is just playing at the worst possible time.

You should have a look at Victor Boniface, he played at BodĂž/glimt (i work security there every match) he just got a move to Union Saint-gilloise , he is a guy with insane work ethic of the pitch but gives me lukaku type vibes on his playing style and as long as he can stay injury free, he will be a beast, lovely bloke as well btw,

Fozzy dying out for a move to Arsenal
The big draw in going to Spurs and not Everton, is playing Champions League football, challenging for the league/ top 4, playing under Conte - dont think money and living in London were the main reasons you would pick Spurs over Everton
The laces being undone in training is so that in a game they have the advantage of being fully locked into their boots compared to in training. Itâs a competitive edge in their head. (From previous interviews Iâve read from players). Itâs like players who train in moulds but then play in studs because they have more grip.
I've never once heard this.
They donât strap their own ankles etc because itâs too complicated and precise, one of the many reasons why clubs will hire top class physios and back room staff. Great watch, hurry up and find a prem club so I can get you in my fantasy leagueđ€Ł

There are three teams in the league who spend ÂŁ50-ÂŁ60m on players just to make their squad better. Chelsea, City and Liverpool. Spurs have designs on joining that club. They need to start buying big players for big money so Kane, Son and Kulu donât have to play every game. Conte wants a first 18. We spent ÂŁ42m on Davinson and then ÂŁ47m on Romero in the same position.

Everything tubes said about lukaku was a bunch of salty nonsense. It is well known tuchel really wanted lukaku. Do you think Chelsea sanction a 90m+ transfer if the coach doesnât like the player? He was one of the best strikers in the world serie a or not and was a great fit for Chelsea. A bunch of factors, including bad management from tuchel, caused it to fail
Lukaku was only good in that game vs Arsenal because he was up against Pablo Mari
Arsenal had Cedric, Holding and Mari in that back 4!
Of course Lukaku had a good game against arsenal they are Santa Claus FC any player or team underperforming always get given a good game against them đ€Ł
Pep is isn't making singings, nobody gonna convince me he wanted Grealish. Grealish'es biggest strength is bringing the ball up the pitch on his own, MC have literarily no use for it, 1) team against them drop off anyway, 2) even if they didn't, MC want the ball to pop, not for one guy to hold on to it and slow the game down. Second best thing Grealish can do is overhold the ball, bait in the help and slip the ball through to open space, Villa had great triangle system set up in the corners and they manage to get high quality open crosses out of it. Again MC doesn't need that, they need the ball to pop, and just use the spaces that open up as a result of much more complex movements.
To be fair Mahriz also wasn't direct fit, but Pep used him perfectly as an option when they needed something different. Also Mahriz'es strengths are much more directly related to scoring, so it easy for him to be useful in any team. Mahriz can actually score the ball over a defender or produce high quality cross by himself and Pep taught him not to slow the game down and pick his moments.
Grealish just lacks the real effectivity in the f3rd, even though Aston Villa played everything trough him, he can't score consistently.

Paul Pogba has been average at best for more than 3 seasons. He might shine in a pub league like Serie A, but heÂŽs NOT a PL player, simply overrated!
