- The @skysportspremierleague & @socceram legend ‘Tubes’ was our next guest at our Mill St studios HQ in Leamington Spa. Tubes has had a remarkable career which has seen him as a hilarious and integral part of the Sky & Soccer AM team. Interviewing Hollywood’s A-Listers working with footballs elite and now, he is a golfing CZcamsr with his brother ‘Big Ange’.
We discussed the funny story of how he became known as Tubes, battling alcoholism and his near fatal heart attack! Not only is Tubes one of the funniest guys you are ever likely to meet, but a thoroughly decent human being who we now call our friend.

Great shout
I can identify with everything he says. What happens with alcoholism is it goes from binge drinking at the weekend to drinking every night, all the way to not being able to function without it in your system. Shaking, depression, nobody wants to be around you other than people that don't know you or other alcoholics. You plan your whole life around it. You buy for the morning. To an alcoholic being sober is a novelty as you spend your life in an altered state. After you get over the misery, sickness and facing up to the reality (what you can remember) of everything you have done while drunk. I can't even imagine what it's like being somebody football fans would recognise. Respect to Tubes and Ben has such a naturally positive outlook on life. 👍
PS: alcoholism comes in many forms but it's progressive. I'm glad he didn't reach that point but that's where he would have likely ended.
Tubes is a great guy. He obviously went through a really tough time and a near death experience but it's so great that he's sharing his experiences so candidly which due to his reach, will definitely help people out there who are struggling and helping them to realise that there is light at the end of the tunnel
Such a genuine guy and so strong for coming through all he has had to. Thanks for getting Tubes on Ben... Loved his story. Can't wait to see who you get on next.
Amazing channel guys, if this is ‘winging it’ I can’t wait to see what happens when you know what you’re doing!? I think Ben and Tubes are massive CZcams talents, despite being so humble. Massive respect to Tubes, he’s clearly been through hell, and most of it in the public eye. Huge set on the lad to overcome all that, and still produce all this great stuff for TV 👏👏👏

It’s a scary experience, I was diagnosed with a heart issue and was rushed to hospital and had to be shocked, I’m only 38. I’m glad Tubes is good now he’s a legend 👍🏻

I don't like footy and I've never watched Soccer AM. But I love snooker and saw Ben with Stephen Hendry and saw Tubes talking on some other podcast about things familiar to me. What a great podcast: I didn't plan to listen to the whole thing but these guys are completely on the level.

i'm going through similar to what tubes has gone through my dad died of covid 5 months ago, i'm working but all i can think of is when i can have a good drink next without my family knowing, but this has helped a lot, touched base a little this one x

Just want to say. Watching this for the second time. Truly identify with the epiphany of realization of compulsive behavior. I am of the same mind set and watching you all with the CZcams world, podcast setting and getting as fully immersed in it is exactly the same attachments I make with things.
