Smart #3 Brabus review | Can a little magic from Brabus liven up the Smart #3's driver appeal?

- You're going to have to work hard to spot the new Smart #3 Brabus and tell it apart from its lesser brethren. The exterior differences are tiny in the extreme, but there is one giveaway - at the front, the Brabus version gets an extra little air intake in the edge of the bonnet, almost a size-zero tribute to the honking great air intakes of Subaru Imprezas and Mitsubishi Evos of old. And make no mistake, that's the kind of performance that we're talking about here.

What a terrible negative review. For the price it is a very good car. What are you actually wanting from a car? Looks better than the EX30, £15,000 cheaper than the Hyundai with same spec. £9,000 cheaper than than ID4 or 5. Not sure you know what you are looking for. I spent less than 1 hour driving it (#3 Premium) and completely understood the infotainment system in that time. As lots of others have said the overwhelming reviews have been very positive. Of course every car has issue or quirks, but come on what do you want? Maybe drive the non Brabus and review that. For your info I drive a Porsche (under 1 year old), BMW (3 years old) and a VW (2 years old). All top spec cars and this car was great, easy to drive, practical and fun. I think it looks so much better than lots of others and very well made. I for one am going to order the #3 25th Anniversary model now.
It’s funny you see all these brands in the design. Me what I see is the mercedes EQ design but made for younger audiences. So they’ve “pop-ified” the mercedes EQ design. This looks like an EQA back. Not a cupra formentor back. Cupra has all sharp angles, and this car has none. And not sure which BYD you talk about, but none look like that
It is funny that you say that the car is fine but you do not really like the design.
I honesty like a lot the design I think is probably the best EV in terms of design! I would buy one if the car had a better range.
Is the first time I watch your review I do not know if you are always so negative. Maybe you are.
It's our job to critique cars when needed. We drive hundreds of cars each year, not all are going to be positive.

I don’t feel I was being overly negative. The #3 is a perfectly decent car, but it’s struggling to stand out from the crowd, something which the Smart brand used to do more than almost any other. I’m hopeful, though, that future models might be more distinctive. ^Neil
What exactly are you basing that on?

@@CompletecarIe If the #3 is not standing out, then no eletric car in this price range does. What do you expect from smart? There is no innovation any longer, it has become the servant of Geeyl, nothing more.
I know right, search any other Smart #3 review on CZcams and the reviews are overwhelmingly POSITIVE, yet in this review I heard "annoying" more than any other words.
I don't find the Smart 3# annoying at all, but the reviewer certainly is.
You call this bland, yet it offers RWD with almost 300hp or AWD with 428. Most competitors have much less power and/or FWD. Equipment is great, you don’t mention things like 3d camera or matrix lights (which Tesla doesn’t have). And for the price it actually has plenty of character, the only thing slightly lacking is range but it’s not bad either and up to personal priorities and car usage.
Just because a car has a high power output doesn't make it instantly interesting or exciting. Most buyers don't actually need so much performance.

That's ok with us. Shows we have a different perspective/opinion.
You can put a cloth in the door pockets to stop any rattling. The lane warnings are a pain and are there because of EU directives. I am seriously thinking of buying one to replace my BMW I4 M50.
That is true, you can do that, but you shouldn't have to. How do you like the BMW?

One of the most boring and negative reviews I've seen for a while. It won't drive like a sports car when you're driving like my gran, you crapped yourself when you put your foot down
