Shibatron, that's awesome! My grandmom's are long gone now but my one grandmom was a professional musician in her youth. Back in the 90s I played Primus Sailing The Seas of Cheese album for her and she went nuts. She loved it! Then again, she was a Zappa fan so it wasn't that far of a leap to Primus. My mom, who has been gone for 7 years and would be 73 if she were still alive, was a huge metalhead. When she died I got her CD and album collection and I was blown away by her diverse taste in music. There was Barbra Streisand next to Rage Against The Machine and Metallica. ;)

One thought: check out the lyrics of some of the songs you listen to. Not always, but a lot of the times, metal bands put a lot of work and thoughts into the lyrics, but it may be difficult to hear them, especially if they use screams. Sometimes, there are videos with the lyrics displayed with the music. Just a tip.
Also, I really think you would like the band Opeth. Jinjer are big fans of them. Maybe Ghost of Perdition?

This is such a great song. Each of them are incredible musicians. I'm looking forward to seeing Perennial live at Wacken. I've seen them twice and they are masters of on-stage performance. Who Is Gonna Be The One official live would be a great follow-up after that.
The way Pisces was put together is interesting and whoever was responsible for that video is really impressive. There are a ton of subtle details that are so easy to overlook, and every time I watch it I'm blown away. It looks yeah like someone's basement or some spare room but everything is so deliberately crafted.

You lovely ladies make me miss my Grandma even more. She was the only one in my family that understood my love for this type of music. She would sit down with me and listen to every new album I would buy, those are some of my fondest memories of her. We even had matching tour shirts we would wear when we went somewhere together.

Jinjer are an amazing band, and I totally agree that Tatiana is amazing, but what makes Jinjer (apart from their singer) is their bassist. Their bass lines are amazing and combines with the drums and the guitar they create an amazing and distinguishable sound even before she starts singing!

You two Grannies are awesome. I'm a 49 year old man, and basically have been listening to metal for over 40 years. I remember when I first discovered Jinjer, I was blown away, they are just a phenomenal band. Tatiana gets alot of the attention, and rightfully so, but Eugene (bass), Roman (guitar), and Vlad (drums) are out of this world talented. Here's a funny side note, I was talking to my Mom (she's 75 years old) when I told her, Mom, I want to show you this girl I have a crush on, her name is Tatiana. My Mom was like Ok. I showed her the "Perennial" video Live at Wacken open Air 2019. I'll never forget the look on her face. After the video was over she said, what in the heck was that? She sounds like a Demon!! She sounds like she's possessed!!!! But she is really pretty.. LOL 😄😄😄😄 My mom is the best. You two Grannies continue to do your thing, and stay Metal 🤘🤘🤘🎶🎶🎶 If you choose to continue to react to some more Jinjer songs, you will not be disappointed, each of their songs are different and completely unique, none of their songs sound the same, but each one of them is fantastic. 😊😊

A recommendation is Rainbow - "Stargazer" with the late Ronnie James Dio on vocals. He later replaces Ozzy in Black Sabbath (Check War Pigs for a great early Black Sabbath Ozzy song.) Side note, Dio's first single as a lead singer was "An Angel Is Missing" by Ronnie and the Redcaps back in 1961! Not remotely metal as it was pre-Beatles Dion and the Belmonts type music. Other side note, Dio brought the horns to metal. \m/ \m/

Here's a little info for you lovely, young, rockin' ladies! She actually sings with a "growl technique" also known as using your false folds. With enough practice and the proper technique, you can switch between the two without damaging your true vocal folds, which is what is used in traditional, melodic singing! Tatiana (the lead singer), I've found, has been second to none in having such control in her false folds. Hope that helps! Keep amazing, you two!

Excellent reaction ladies. I love this band and I've seen them live. To see Jinjer and Tatiana at their best you've got to watch 'I Speak Astronomy.' Cheers from Australia.

Damn! NANA’S GOTTA GROWL! I know everyone else heard that fiery pits of hell growl emanating from her, "TEACHER TEACHER!"
Now, please ladies, have a look at PANTERA, Domination , Live in Moscow. I bet we get some f-bombs out of ya. I’m 50! And so loving seeing y’all here!

    Hello from Calgary, Alberta, Canada,
Please find a few minutes to experience Opeth. Their music has had the most lasting impact on my life of anything I've listened to.
I would say "Ghost of Perdition" is the happy medium you should start with.
All the best to you ladies, we love what you have going on!

For English not being her first language, she has AMAZING diction and control of her vowels. Her vowel shapes are a big factor in the quality of her screams.

One thing that I love about tatiana is that I can understand most of her growling, so I’m really able to focus on the whole band instead of just tying to figure out what they’re saying

Jinjer is amazing, INSANE amount of talent from the Ukraine. Sound just as good live as they are on the tracks. My suggestion is Judgment (& Punishment) By them. No rules in Metal.

2:55 - That's why people are suggesting Perennial, so that you can witness Tatiana doing those switches in a blink of an eye live.
    3:20 - That wasn't a basement, it was a recording studio! :D

Thank you so much for the videos! Would love to hear what you two ladies think of the band Rush. A great prog rock band who performed from the 70s all the way until 2015 ─ only three people! Their drummer died recently; he was often called one of the greatest rock drummers in history. I definitely recommend the songs Natural Science, The Spirit of Radio, and Anthem. Many thanks and much love from England!
