So first, some facts about Dragonforce:
    1. Their sound is heavily influenced by 1980's video games
    2. Their lead guitar player (the Chinese one with super long hair) always streams on Twitch (a popular video game streaming platform) before every concert.
    3. Their current drummer use to be a fan, but was noticed after doing a drum cover of this song and was invited to be their new drummer.
    My recommendations:
Avenged Sevenfold - Nightmare (Official Music Video)
Metallica - ...And Justice for All (Live Seattle 1989)
    Black Sabbath - Paranoid
    Black Sabbath - Iron Man
    Black Sabbath - War Pigs
Skillet - Awake and Alive (either the Official Music Video or the Live DVD)

Hey Grannies, fun fact: DragonForce wrote the guitar to Road of Resistance by BabyMetal. 😁 Try out Operation Ground and Pound by DragonForce.
As for history of DF. They were formed in London, England in 1999, the only two founding members that still remain are the two guitarists, Herman Li and Sam Totman. The singer in this music video is Z.P. Theart. The current singer is called Marc Hudson and has an amazing voice too.

    • @Bambuzzsprosse
      @Bambuzzsprosse Před 4 lety

And what's to add: DragonForce's real mainstream breakthrough that put them and this song at the spot where they are bathing in sunlight right now happend because Through the Fire and Flames was THE bonus song of Guitar Hero 3: Legends of Rock, its hardest song and something that blow up to more than a meme in the shortest of time.
Without Guitar Hero 3 DragonForce would just be another name in the broad Power Metal universe ; )

if you like the muppet show than you will like Marc ....
in the early days they were called "studioforce" bc the overall live experiance wasn´t that great, and they only sounded good on the CD
mosty due to alcohol and smoking, especially ZP had (he overcame it and is very successful with a band calles Skid Row) a massive alcohol problem back in the days, but he wasn´t the only one in the band who had issues.
But they had some awesome live shows as well, not every show was aweful :D
They even put out a Live album which is worth a listen
to me he was the heart and soul of he band and i lost interest in them after he left

Since you've asked, DragonForce are a British power metal band from London, England. The band was formed in 1999 by guitarists Herman Li and Sam Totman, and are known for their long and fast guitar solos, fantasy-themed lyrics and retro video game-influenced sound. It was probably 2009 or 2010 when I learned about them; "Through the Fire and Flames" was the final (boss) song of "Guitar Hero: Metallica" game, lol. Also guitarist Herman Li does live Twitch streams, I watch him time to time.

Got to see these guys last year - they played at a local roller disco rink, and the place was packed!
A Japanese all girl group called Lovebites was in support, and they were pretty awesome too.
Dragonforce did a cover of Celine Dions "My Heart Will Go on" - well worth checking that out :)

Dragonforce toured the UK last year, and they handpicked a band called Lovebites to support them. Lovebites are an all-female Japanese band who sing in English, dress in cute white outfits and blow you away with their speed, power and melody. I'd recommend that to start with you check out one of their official videos, one of either Rising, Shadowmaker or Where Destinies Align would be best.

    Some more facts :
-Their bassist is french, till few months, he left to go on his own with a new band.
-The current singer is no more this one
    - most of people thought they all were speeding their notes up in studio (at the genesis of band) and to be fair, seeing them live was a bit too dispointing.
Nevertheless, since they changed their singer, their lives are aweeeeesome.
You better watch Fury of The Storm and Three Hammers from their live in japan ! 👌
