Joe just moving out of the way will always be iconic
Ratio
@@lion9743 shut up.
@@lion9743 Just No just dont
@@lion9743 It's past your bedtime.
@@lion9743 what're you getting at? I'm genuinely curious 🤨
Somoa Joe is just an incredible genius for what he did, by simply walking out of the way. One of the most intelligent things we have seen. Very quick-witted.
And a power move 😂
It’s so simple yet so genius
FACTS.
Yet he’s not the 1st one to do it
Yep
For me Eddie who slams a chair to the ground, throws it to the opponent and plays death is one of the genuis moves.
But Samoa Joe's walking away is just hilerious but also brilliant
Agree, Eddie's fake out chairshot is so comedically genius that others have made it a signature tribute to him, like Ricochet also adding levels of hilarity with his sell...
Didn't ricochet do that exact thing with his feud between the hurt business?
this spot is nothing new but its good its used rarely
I was wrestling an amateur wrestling match against the kid who was considered the embarrassment of the team. I was losing so I bit myself let him take me to my back and screamed.
First time I saw Eddie do the fake chair shot spot and then win by dq, I literally spit my beer out and forgot what I watched for about the next 20 minutes after it where i was laughing 😂😂
A tag partner pinning a tag partner to win has been done before. They call it the "Outlaw Rule" since Road Dogg pinned Billy Gunn for the New Age Outlaws to win the tag titles back in the Attitude Era.
Exactly, I was just saying that in my comment before I saw yours! They stole it in brilliant fashion.
Yeah, was just about to point that out myself.
4 Real bruh I just put that in my comment that was a trip when they did that.
I remembered that when I saw that New Day match. Apparently they forgot about the rule.
If i recall right the was in som kind off 4 team tornado match
Joe was honestly really underrated. If he wasn’t injury proned he definitely would of beaten AJ at Summerslam 18
I think it was just Vince hating.
@@reesexkillua Probably that. But it was mostly the injuries Joe had during his main roster run that screwed his pushes as Vince sees stars that are injury prone as a lost cause (which was why he was at one point reduced as a commentator) and it kinda did made sense why he was injury proned as he isn’t in his prime anymore like he once was in TNA. Aside from the injuries, he was a very underrated technical grappler, submission specialist, and was also really good on promos.
But he wasn’t the only one that got screwed by injury prone as Wade Barrett kinda suffered the same fate.
@@GojiBoiEarth1964 True.
Joe and AJ had the longest chemestry with each other. They had great matches in TNA
@@reesexkillua I really think that Vince liked Joe but if you invest in a character only for the wrestler to be injured you have lost a lot of time on nothing.
The one thing that Vince loved on their champs more than anything was consistency.
He doesn´t want a guy that can give him a 5 star match a lot of the time.
He wants someone that can always give him a 3.5 match no matter what.
Orton and Christian's feud is so underrated and they could've gone far if it wasn't for Vince being super bias against Christian.
Why does Vince dislike christian tho? He's never used steroids, great attitude, loved by the lockeroom, great promos and more
@@alexmax3826 I think I remember hearing compared to Edge, Vince found Christian "boring." Yeah sounds petty but this is Vince we're talking about. The same man that throws a tantrum if someone says "wrestler" instead of "superstar"
@@alexmax3826 also, apparently he hated his face. Yes, you read that correctly. His FACE!
@@thegreenpianist7683 same guy who pushed guys like Khali and Jinder depsite them being boring as hell?
@@alexmax3826 That's Vince McMahon for ya
The New Day spot is actually an old spot performed in similar manner by the New Age Outlaws, the only difference is the Outlaws made it work and ran to the back after the cheap win.
Was looking for a comment stating this before I mentioned it 😁
Couldn’t they have just done a submission and submitted right away?
NWO also pulled it off lol
After the Outlaws won, they made a rule that teammates couldn't pin each other. It was referred to as The Outlaw Rule for years after that match, and the commentators would say that"The Outlaw Rule was in effect" for a tag match where you could tag in anyone.
Love how Batista looks genuinely amused at Cena taping his feet 😂
He its like you have to be kidding me 😂
Randy slapping the refree to get a dq finish against cena was worth mentioning
That ref deserved that. Wasted 10 seconds before counting Cena out. If the ref started counting when he should've Cena would've been counted out
Randy Orton turning a finisher or signature move into the RKO stood out as the smartest move that I've ever seen.
Orton even countered a chokeslam from a veteran in the business, Undertaker, at Wrestlemania 21.
@@Letthat bro do you have a link I wanna see the rvd rko
I'm still amazed by bournes. He hot him while Evan was in mid air
How about when Randy countered Seth's Curb Stomp into RKO at wrestlemania?
Not only did Randy Orton steal the RKO from DDP, he also stole that reversal from the chokeslam. Page did it first at Starrcade 2000 to the big show who was known as the giant at the time.
@@TheRobbieCorbett Didn't Randy Orton stole it from John Laurnatius?
Joe's walk away is the most basic yet genius move out there. Just walking away when the opponent is jumping from the top rope or turnbuckle and allowing them to hurt themselves is just funny as hell 🤣 Also, Brock being on here doesn't surprise me because this is the same guy who has perfected the close call kick out at 2 and a half.
Actually road dog and billy gun pinned each other so the new day were second
Joe always gets a laugh out of me when he walks away when people try to jump onto him because it's just so hilarious.
Samoa Joe’s walk away move is still one of my favorite things he’s done in the ring. Absolute legend.
There's also the triple threat for the IC title between Zayn, Style and Jeff Hardy. The ending was pure genius with Zayn using handcuffs.
That was amazing
Samoa Joe walking away always makes me laugh😂😂😂😂😂
Dude is smart af🧠🔥
Kofi and xavier was actually a call back to billy gunn and road dogg doing the same thing.
Nash vs Hogan as well
wait what the fu-
Mick Foley is one of the few guys that are able to withstand enough pain to wrap themselves in barbed wire and let their opponent hit them.
Eddie Guererro was the master of trick after all of how to steal the win . RIP
I think the smartest move a wrestler ever did was Shawn Michaels throwing a cameraman in the way of Undertaker’s over the top rope dive 😂.
Even among other wrestlers in interviews whenever he’s brought up Christian is always mentioned as an in ring genius with a great mind for the business.
I was so shocked when Lesnar jumped over Goldberg. It was such a cool moment and I didn't expect it at all. I loved it 😀
3.57- The new Age Outlaws did this during the attitude era and it worked. A new rule was drawn up afterwards that stated that members of the same team couldn't pin each other during a match, which apparently that New Day referee forgot about.
Thank you for bringing this up. I remember it happened either in 99 or 00.
Came to write this. Video stopped there for me 😂
@@almandot np, i believe the rule was literally called 'The Outlaw rule'.
Actually New age outlaws did the spot before the new day
Just came here to see of someone remembered this. (For me it was via Wrestling Bios)
Edge vs Mick Foley @ Wrestlemania 22 was an amazing match Joey Styles on Commentary was a nice touch and the iron match between Brock Lesnar Vs Kurt Angle was awesome smackdown in 2003 is iconic especially the Torrie Wilson Vs Dawn Marie Feud which is iconic IMO
Not only is Joe’s walk away funny and iconic, it’s super meta and smart. Bc typically, a wrestler (in kayfabe) is just hunched over for not doing anything and then “oops” gets hit with a big move off the top. Joe walking off is like “why don’t I just move before I get hit”
Edge in his triple threat match against Batista and Undertaker at Armageddon 2007. Not only did he ring the bell causing Taker to falsely believe the match was over and release Batista from a triangle choke, but he also featured the recharacterizing of Hawkins and Rider as his new allies disguising themselves as him to run interference.
Should have included when AJ faked the Phenomenal Forearm and Randy flopped the RKO
Joe's famous walk away is such a screw you to the efforts of his opponent. Savage with minimal effort.
The New Age Outlaws successfully pinned eachother in a Fatal 4 Way, or maybe it was a Triple Threat.
Yup. Which is why typically those matches have the "Outlaw Rule" named after them.
Triple Tag team match with LOD and DOA.
Samoa Joe is a straight savage 😂
Ok, this list is great. But the number one spot HAS to go to Eddie Guerrero with his chair segment. Banging the chair on the mat and handing it over to the opponent to get an easy dq win. Simple but genius.
3:33 im i the only one who remembers the Outlaw rule
Samoa joe just getting out of the way is hilarious and always fits in the match
Whenever I see Joe and his moments like these....i feel sad that he didn't get to reach his full potential due to constant injuries. He could've been a main eventer for years. He was like an anti-face for me. A heelish face version of John Cena.
The matches between Randy and Christian were so technical now i was there live for the match at SummerSlam a shame Christian was treated as a mere enhancement talent to push Randy even further
Randy Orton slapping the ref during a match with cena will forever be hilarious and genius
yea
I liked both of Cena's sports in this video. BTW since, John Cena is my boi I'm always up for watching one of his matches
Duct tape, woo hoo! (Tune: DuckTales theme)
Banger ✨️ 🔥 amazing
I freaking love Joe, he’s flawless in everything he does
I guess you can say that...
He's just a walkaway Joe.
the new age outlaws pinned each other in the 90s
Orton disqualifying himself by slapping the ref was funny as hell
Great video Samoa Joe walk off is perfect bruh New Day when they tried to pin each other in the Attitude Era New Age Outlaws did that they kept the titles lol.
John Cena duct tape Batista's legs is more intelligent move for Cena
Joe being Joe. Hilariously good move.
I believe the new age outlaws won a fatal four way pinning each other
William Regal was walking away from Arial attacks years before anyone had ever heard of Samoa Joe
The new day pinning each other was one of those moments you asked yourself why didn't I just think of that.
I remember one of GoldDust's trademarks was when his opponent tries a backdrop, GoldDust dops down in front of them and smacks them in the face. I liked it due to the fact when the backdrop (back body drop) has been done so many times, you would think someone or anyone would have a counter to it.
I need to see a clip of this
@@PinkishToon Type in "Samoa Joe nope" into the CZcams search engine. You will find a compilation of the Samoa Joe walkaways.
New day did that pin scenario at SummerSlam 2015 in the fatal four way tag match.
Mankind pining the Rock with a forklift at halftime Heat 1999 should be on here. Pure genius on Foley's part.
Kurt Angle vs Brock Lesnar is one of the greatest Iron Man match
The moments are most likely scripted but they look awesome especially Joe being like "I'm outta here see ya"
Samoa Joe just walking out of the way of an aerial move awesome and hilarious.
Brock Lesnar leaped over Goldberg from getting speered is a clever move
My man 👌
Yes. Samoa Joe's walk away is iconic 😉❤️
Truly gave him a " not even worried " kind of vibe.
The Bret Hart spot was definitely iconic we were all hoping for a major push after that but WCW fell through
Should have had when roddy piper had a “shock proof” vest when the Mountie shocked him with his shock stick.
Amazing
I always wondered why wrestler rolled around in pain after landing on the mat (because usually when I land on my gut after a decent fall I get the wind knocked out of me but I get right up with a little soreness on my ribs) but then I learned that the ring is made out of metal and wood... I have one word..... OUCH! I am honestly surprised nobody has ever broken a rib (at least that I know of)
People have definitely broken ribs, they just don't say it every time.
Also, they learn how to fall so it's less likely.
Probably because they have so much muscle and meat protecting their bones. Breaking bones happens usually when a move is botched.
It literally called “The Outlaw Rule” Because the New Age Outlaws did that spot and retained their titles against LOD and DOA in 1998
Another good WCW one was Chavo Guerrero Jr vs Stevie Ray. I can't remember the exact PPV or date, but the story was that Chavo had a match against Eddie Guerrero right after his match with Stevie Ray. Eddie kept saying how he was going to just pick Chavo's bones after Stevie Ray was finished with him. As soon as the bell rang, Chavo kept offering his hand to Stevie for a handshake. The bewildered Stevie Ray finally accepted....and Chavo immediately tapped out to it! And thus he was fresh as a daisy for Uncle Eddie!
Another good example of on the fly smart moves was after Mankind fell through the cage during Hell in a Cell. Undertaker spoon fed a few moves to Mankind that he could capitalize on in order to get a little time to clear his head after the fall and go on to finish the match with the planned thumbtack finale.
Samoa joe.🔥
The New Age Outlaws did the New Day spot during the Attitude Era!! WWF (at the time) brought in The Outlaw rule to stop that situation happening again, but they seem to have forgotten about it!!!
People didn't hate the John Cena duct tape finish because it was bad, they hated it because it's 100% a heel move, and Cena was 100% a babyface.
Honorable mention should be Kane vs Stone Cold in a first blood match. Austin wore his normal ring gear, Kame wore a version of his gear that covered an arm that was normally exposed.
never been this early for a post and i'm still late lmao
3:50 i believe this was an homage to when new age outlaws pulled this trick in 1998 june 8 vs lod and doa 3 way match
Special shoutout to Roddy Piper who wore a shockproof vest under his shirt against The Mountie who liked to use that shock stick to win matches.
Legend
ya i love the walk away lol makes so much sense
One definitely worth noting is AJ Styles and Randy Orton. Styles always managed to read Orton like a book. The powerslam is one and the RKO where he was gonna springboard to bait him and then they just started pointed at each other like: 'Ah I see what you did there'
Another I can think of is Punk and Cena when John was gonna do his signature shoulder tackle then Punk was one of the first few people to actually move out of the way and Cena went flying out of the ring
The New Day strategy is easily one of my favorite moments of 2022.
Genius mode 1000
Eddie holding the title and his boot after the match will always be my favourite image
Before The New Day, New Age Outlows did it bro!!!
Eddie Guerrero slamming a chair on the mat and then throwing it to his opponent before hitting the deck and playing dead is another one.
I actually have the lesnar v angle on a dvd set, the match is an absolute banger and I have watched it over and over.
Mick Foley vs Edge feud is legendary
Roddy Piper's shock proof vest against the Mountie was great also.
There's a compilation of Joe's walk away spot floating around YT. It's magnificent.
I'd love to see Samoa Joa vs PAC in AEW...PAC would need to rethink his top rope attacks...
Road Dogg and Billy Gunn were in a fatal 4 way tag team match in 1998 and Billy Gunn laid down and let Road Dogg pin him. And it worked.
you need to do one on charity champions like Rey Mysterious, Christian, etc.
Great that John Cena fall in a same trap of getting Rock Bottom from The Rock
The New Day were not the first to do that. The New Age Outlaws were in the same situation, only they actually got the three count to win the match. I think it was on a RAW.
I always had a gimmick in mind of a wrestler who literally made these smart decisions like moving out of the way or tagging someone without doing that silly jump
One spot I love to think of is when the Bar faked a tag in against the new day so that when New day tried to pin they were pinning the wrong guy, putting an end to their reign as tag champs
Joe's walk away is awesome. It's so funny and clever but also really simple since yeah, why not just move out of the way?
It's called the outlaw rule. The New Age Outlaws pinned each other to retain the tag titles during a fatal 4 way tag match with the exacts same rules in the 90s. So, someone had done it before, a rule was just put in place so it couldn't happen again.
Hall & Nash tried that similarly in a WCW multi tag team match.
Lesnar took that leapfrog spot from Booker T, it was rad as hell when Booker did it and rad as hell when Brock did it
I was dying when Woods laid down for Kofi 😂😂😂
When Shawn caught Shelton Benjamin with a super kick off of Benjamin's flying across the ring spot
Christian should've been a decent World Champion
I remember the Intercontinental title match at Royal Rumble 1998 between The Rock and Ken Shamrock . Rock hit Shamrock with brass knuckles and hid them in Shamrock's tights and went for the pin Shamrock kicked out and hit Rock with a belly to belly suplex and got the pin or so he thought . Rock complained that Shamrock used the knuckles the ref searched Shamrock and reversed the decision .
the foley/edge match is one of my favorite matches of all time
"...Stoop that low! Duct tape? Are you serious!? DUCT TAPE!?!?! That's something Hornswoggle would do!"
