Dude, you deserve so much credit. The highlights for me are the coordinates of the landscape into the UVs to scale the material. Absolutely brilliant. Also, painting was super easy to follow. The segways from start to finish made it easy to learn and play along. Thank you!
I am currently working on a landscape that I really wanted to showcase with different textures/materials. None of my professors had explained how to do this in the past 2 years, you literally explained it in 20 mins. So easy to follow and easy to understand, thank you!
I absolutely love the way you teach. There is so much to learn regarding to UE5 and for someone like me who generally use iclone and daz for all of my animattions, Unreal and your teaching has open a whole new world. Thank you very much.
omg thank you so much i just spent hours watching other videos trying to figure it out and yours was so straightforward, finally got it. thanks!
Thank you for the understandable and slow explanation!❤🔥👍
Fantastic tutorial, very clear and concise. Really useful for a project I was working on, thanks for making this !
You're very welcome!
Absolutely stellar video, man!
Thank you so much, this has really helped with improving my horror games landscape significantly!
Thank you so much for this tutorial
Thank you so, SO MUCH for this video. I was having problems trying to solve the tiling problem while keeping the landscaping paint blueprint together for DAYS. Other videos didn't work for landscape painting textures. You have saved my project. A like on this video all the way!
This is amazing, I'm currently working with TrainSim World 4 beta version of their game editor and this has helped a lot with painting my scenery. Thankyou very much 👍
Great SIMPLE tutorial, exactly what I was looking for! Many Thanks!!!!! :O)
Thank you so much for this amazing series!!! My game is looking so much better with a landscape and the texturing made possible by this tutorial! THANKS!!!!
Literally saved me! I can't believe you don't have over 1 Million views! Hope you get it someday! Much love!
thank you man, God bless you
Thank you!!!
Thanks champ very good
8:17 This is where I get stuck. "We have our various different layers". Nope. No layers.
I had to keep making random changes to the material, saving it, then going back to the paint tool. Took a few times then eventually it would update
This tutorial seems to be broken at 8:20. I do not see the layers. I see only Heightmap in that section. Did something change in a newer version or did I miss a detail?
Thanks
Great vid. The only slightly confusing part is adding the 'mask' texture to all these textures (ORD). I think you do a split RGB, I'm not sure. It gets a little hairier when adding this.
hello, I watched your water tutorial previous to this one and started poking around in unreal 5.3 however I can't seem to get the landscape to blend into the water like your example. Basically, there seems to be a radius around the spline that only allows for a "flat beach" and I can't shape the landscape into say crags or small mountains that go straight into the water. This is a little vague, but I hope someone can point me at the settings I need to look at. Thanks
thx
What a legend.
B-)
nice
a 3rd person course next pls. with battle system included.
We are taking on suggestions, I'd definitely recommend the FPS course in the mean time!
I've followed everything correctly step by step, but all my layers appear black. I've created layer the info, and have done everything by the video, but they all appear black.
Ensure there's a light source in the project. I battled this for an hour yesterday, just to realize there was zero light bouncing off the textures, keeping them black.
Add light!
I've started a new 3rd person project. Then removed everything, added new landscape and then set the material for the whole landscape. Now, when I want to paint additional types of material. There's no material in the Layer at all. Do you know what could cause this issue? I mean, I can't even add any new materials to paint with them.
Make sure you have a properly set up landscape material with layer blending. Assign this material to your landscape, create layer info objects for each layer, and then paint the landscape using the Landscape Editor's Paint Mode. Double-check that the layer names match between the material and the Landscape Editor and that the landscape material has been correctly assigned to your landscape. If you need more help with this problem, our team will be able to help on 1 on 1 in our discord :)
Im probably dumb for this but I'm trying to set the entire landscape as One Square of a single texture since I mapped it all out and wanna sculpt it off the map
Don't Worry, it's not a dumb idea! 🙂
The issue with doing it that way is that you need a REALLY high resolution texture so it doesn't look blurry on the map, but if it works, then I don't see any reason to change it!
Good luck!

Tilling not enough
I couldn't follow this at all. You never showed how to get to the places you were in and assumed everyone already knows where all the menu crap is.
loser
This was extremely easy to follow. You should learn the basics about the engine first and foremost.
