    Hardness, hardness, hardness.
Most divisions have 200, 300, or 400 plus soft attack but unless they're a strong tank division or they have lots of AT most divisions have less than 100 hard attack or maybe even less than 50.
If a division had 50% hardness and the enemy has 400 SA and 50 HA, then they'll hit with 200 SA and 25 HA for a total of 225 attack. This plus the armor bonus symbol (which can cut org loss and damage by up to 50%) and the strong breakthrough and often speed of tank divisions are what sets these apart.
I try to only attack with units with decent hardness whenever possible. Infantry is good but mostly only on the defense or in areas where you can't get fuel or supply.
I've made my entire army with light tanks focused on soft attack and breakthrough instead of using artillery. For say Estonia when fighting the USSR (I hold them off alone for a year and get half the war score). I focus on 8 to 10 IC tanks with 30 SA (assault gun plus canon and a light machine gun). Can't have much armor or speed with tanks like these but that's not the point.
Using tanks as SPG artillery and then also having field hospitals gets units into veteran status fast.
It's just very hard to learn how to maximize when to research x, y, and z and how to master production efficiency to make an army like this.
I like extending the enemy's supply lines as far as possible, picking advantageous weak spots to attack then hitting those and rushing to the next supply hub and encircling any enemy soldiers I can.

Usually i only use grand battle plan if im playing as a minor nation. As majors with jacked industry i use superior firepower and a lot of arty on every division template, because the soft attack bonus happens all the time, no matter what, while entrenchment and planning depends on more combat conditions. Am i right doing that way?

Grand battleplan has its uses even for major nations, you can do some fun stuff with the supplyconsumtion and breakthrough and night-attack can also be really good. But i agree with you, having a lot of attack is key and i usually go for high attack och high speed to kill my enemies.
