    The Faceting can't happen in Venice because of "Murano Glass", Venice is historically known for its glass so it can't change the trade good

    • @IndependentObserver
      @IndependentObserver Před 10 měsíci

      @@hhhhhh-vi6sq Clicking the button costs 50 piety points, if you're already about to get +25 legalism from an event you only lose 5% tax 5% manpower and 2.5% tech cost... It's not like you're taking techs every other year so there's no need to bother with calculating that but let's entertain the notion that not clicking that button could theoretically actually be better (XD).
      At 1000 dev your loan size is 530 (assuming we're between tech 10 and tech 13, after that it becomes 540) and your tax income about 30-40, unless you're playing some ultimate tax meta theocratic muslim or you're in a high base tax area like lowlands and so you spam churches everywhere- which you aren't, we're talking muslims so you're in a desert with a median of 7 base tax income per 3 provinces. That 500 ducats will be much more than about 3% of your tax income for... until you get a next event. Yes you lose 5% tax modifier but you're not sitting at 100% so losing 5% modifier won't equal to losing 5% of tax *income,* considering standard tax modifiers like stability, the remaining 75% of legalism, Iqta government and bonus from clergy on average you'd already have about 155% tax income (10 from +2 stab, 20 from legalism, 5 from Iqta, and 20 from Clergy) and go down to 150% tax income, which equals to about -3% tax income, and as you can see those aren't some special hard to get bonuses, you get all of that by just playing efficiently as a muslim, I'm not even counting +15% from Iqta big button, so that 155% vs 150% is very much realistic. That 3% lost is about slightly over A DUCAT per month, and that's assuming you're earning 40 from tax per month at 155% global tax bonus and going down to 150%... you'd need, over 33 YEARS of not increasing legalism for that trade to become EVEN.
      Your manpower on the other hand shouldn't be sitting at max anyway so losing 5% of your max manpower only hurts you by slightly decreasing your manpower regen by like 20 a month, and again- you're not losing that permanently, just until another positive legalism event rolls.

      You can also do that if you're planning on releasing conquered territory as a vassal or transferring it to a vassal. So, say you're playing Dai Viet and you conquer those inland Cham states. One of them has Copper (or Iron, can't remember which), which is the only one you'll have in your territory, so you can give the privilege to the Nobles and then release it to give it the other inland Chams or whatever and you get your free mercantilism (you're not going to get much money since its autonomy is so high though).

    The one-way trade note trick is only applicable if no one is collecting there. So it can be very good in Bordeaux for example but stealing the trade out of other nodes can be worth it.

      @@BlurbFishputting a merchant & a giant fleet (+20) of trade ships in Lubeck will allow you to push the trade OUT from those trying to collect in the node... it's not a technically wrong tip but it's very basic and not really applicable to anyone who is actually collecting in the English Channel. You should have a merchant in Lubeck & you should have a massive trade fleet there to steer all the money out of the node even while not controlling any of it.

    • @BlurbFish
      @BlurbFish Před 6 měsíci

      How much extra share of the trade value does that come around to in a node where you have 250 power out of 500? Try opening a random save and just testing this, it only takes a few months of ingame time.

    Here's a tip: You can bypass the huge Loyalty penalties from Force Religion and Place Relative On Throne by releasing them from vassalage. They'll often end up in a situation where they'll immediately agree to be vassalized again due to the same religion and dynasty, and their likely being much weaker than you. Once they're re-vassalized they don't have the Loyalty penalty any more.
    Another tip (that I often use in conjunction with the first as Muscovy) is that a nation's starting visibility of provinces is based on their culture (or is it tech group? I'm not sure), so you can get maps from newly-released nations in some places. When I play Muscovy, I usually conquer the Bashkir provinces from Kazan, release Bashkiria as a subject, use the above trick, then ask them for maps of Asia after they're released from subjugation (must do it before re-vassalization, because you can't trade for maps from your own subjects) because they have maps of north and east Asia due to being a Tatar culture nation (or Nomadic tech group).

If you are playing the HRE game and don't control great land or trade nodes to support the emperor's force limit, you can kind of float your economy on war taxes and reparations into the age of reformation by spending that 1 mil a month, and depending on leader you can end up with a lot of extra mil points you really don't have a good alternative means to spend otherwise.

    5:23 Correction to the one here. There is an exception to this when you have high trade power and it is a very valuable trade note. Putting a trader in the node increases the trade vale by 5% (iirc, might be more).
    it can thus be very useful to put a trader in a node that only flows into 1 direction.
    Also note that in the example there is another nation (East Fresia here) that is steering trade. If they were not the trade power you have there would not be used in this manner and no trade value would flow out.

    I thought that a merchant was essential to move your trade value and otherwise it stays as retained trade value in the node and isn't pushed forward. Was I wrong?

    • @theeu4guy
      @theeu4guy  Před 3 měsíci

      It will move even without a merchant, especially if it’s a one-way node. However, you can get more out with a merchant. Just try to experiment and see what works best for you.

    • @SereglothIV
      @SereglothIV Před 3 měsíci

      @@theeu4guy That's what I usually do, I shuffle the merchants around and see if my trade income goes up or down. Never thought about leaving a trade node in my chain empty though.
      So let me get it straight - trade always flows forward by default and a merchant or trade capital can stop it, not the other way around. And all a merchant does is directing the flow in one direction, rather than dispersing it among all exits? (apart from adding some trade power)

    the first tip may not always apply
    and the trade node mastery only applies when you own all of it, you don´t get lübeck trade without a merchant if the hansa trade leage is still there
    ps i don´t get what the age of reformation one is about, wasting money to save mana was better before and is still better after reformation

    So to spawn gems I need to have glass province, it should be at least 15 dev and have at least 50 prestige, then when I embrace renaissance I'll get the gem province? You didn't let it clear, the way you phrased it it didn't matter if we embraced renaissance before or after the requirements.

    • @theeu4guy
      @theeu4guy  Před 6 měsíci +1

      Yep, I don’t think it matters if you complete the requirements before or after embracing renaissance. If you already have such province, it will automatically get gems when you embrace renaissance (if no one else got it, that is)

  • @pko6596
    @pko6596 Před 11 měsíci

    2 things
    first of all regarding the second tip best choice is to usually not have any cav as cavalry cost more then its worth and unless you are a really small nations the cavalry wont make much of a diffrence
    and for the trade tip remember that what you said applies only if you dont have any trade power in this node or there isnt a single country with trade capital in that node otherwise all your trade power is just split between countries with merchants

    • @battlez9577
      @battlez9577 Před 8 měsíci

      Best to always have 2 or 4 cav in a stack with just how much power they have early game when force limit is tight

    • @BlurbFish
      @BlurbFish Před 6 měsíci

      @@battlez9577 Force limit is just a cost multiplier. If you can afford a mixed force at force limit, then you can afford a pure infantry force above force limit. 2 Cavalry in an army is worse than having none at all, seeing as you're still paying extra for cav, but you're not even getting any extra effective combat width.
