  • In this video I'll be showing you my process of creating a weird toad-looking mech in Adobe Medium and using a bit of Zbrush and Blender materials, bringing it to a nice 3D finish. Using Adobe Medium absolutely awesome for concept artists who essentially want to draw in 3D space!
I'll show some timelapse of Adobe Medium and a whole bunch more tips and tricks!

Thank you for this process showcase! I'll make sure to check out this texturing tutorial for Blender. The texturing capabilities of 3D coat seem really awesome as well.
Also, isn't it funny how we use about 6 different softwares for just a super specific thing we want to have in a final image?

ha, well in this case it was 3 (excluding Photoshop): Med, Z and Blend. But I am perfectly capable of making it six XD

whats amazing to me is i checked out substance modeler and it seems like its not as full featured as medium which adobe owns as well. why they didnt just develop medium instead of starting from scratch is silly. substance modelers smooth isnt really great imho not like 3dcoats. i really want to try vr sculpting but i start to research what headset and i kind of get confused about which would be the best experience and quality. idk ramble over. thanks for sharing your workflow.

Hey man, ah see this was something I forgot to put in the video - I was going to just show a video of me browsing ebay for a used old Rift. There isn't many but you can get the whole set up for about 100 euros or thereabouts. It's not great compared to like the Quest 3, but my wife has the Quest 2 and quite likes the Rift for comfort. So it's still not bad. Fine for Medium and a few games.
And yeah, once Adobe bought Medium everyone just wept for its future. I have zero hope they'll even get close to the Medium experience. All graphics software peaks and then gets worse over time. It doesn't continue to progress.

i was super excited about medium, played with it a couple of hours on monday and now it keeps crashing after a few seconds using the tools. Did you experience any freeze while using it ?

gosh, no I never had a crash. Definitely using Adobe medium and no an old version like oculus medium? and what VR hardware? not that I'm an expert. All I can say is on a rift it works fine, but maybe it's not so happy with quests?

@@AndyWalsh adobe yes, i downloaded it yesterday and it's already broken. I'm on quest 3, i will try with the old rift s to see if it does the same.
