- I was in the city and was able to get a ticket to a preview performance of the new Andrew Lloyd Webber musical Bad Cinderella. Going into this show, I heard a lot of mixed reviews and my expectations were very low. So, Join me for a night in the theatre to see if this show is any good. I hope you enjoy!

I love your love for seeing an understudy/alternate kill it. Love how you shouted him out. I saw 3 alternates on the Six tour and they were AMAZING. It was so exciting to see them shine.
Saw it over the week with my teenage son. We had low expectations as well, but it ended up being very enjoyable. The scenery was very well done. The Queen and Step-Mother were fantastic. The script was choppy, and I didn’t like Cinderella’s punk costume.
But it was a lot of fun, and so I really liked it.
I happy you did. I really want to give that show another shot now knowing what to expect.
in spite of all the "negative" reviews....I AM STILL LOOKING FORWARD TO SEEING THIS SHOW

Thanks for the review, Jeff! I have to many shows to see on my list, and while curious about Bad Cinderella, I think I'll only see it if I win a ticket lottery. The cast looked awesome in the clip you showed though. I do love their merch and stage design! I'm gonna look up that understudy now!
I am an off Broadway reviewer. I was offered free tickets for Bad Cinderella. Turned them down 👎 didn't want to spend the can fare based on comments from others

Yeah, when I make it back to NYC, I don't think this will be on my list.

Some Like it Hot is the best show on Broadway right now.
I have no respect for ALW after the west end run of this show. I hope he treats the cast better this go around. I hate saying it, but I hope this is a short run.

But… if you hope he treats this cast better than he did West End then why in the world would you also hope that this is a short run?
I for one, hope that this amazing cast and crew that worked so incredibly hard to put on the show have a Long and fulfilling run.
It was shockingly bad. The costumes were gorgeous but the music, lyrics and choreography were atrocious. What the hell was the dance in the gym from west side story doing in this show? The queen and stepmother duet I Know You was two pros but the rest of the show was derivative and the book made no sense. Cinderella kept dropping in and out out Latina character and she was far too glam when she is in her unbeautiful clothes. I would kill for her 18th century coat. And why did she have to be blonde? Leslie Warren did just fine at the ball as a brunette. I was ready to walk out after the opening number but we stayed to see just how bad it could get. Agree 2nd act was better than first but that was a very low bar. Standing ovations and cheering are automatic now. When was the last show that did not get that?
So many talented people working so hard for it to be this bad. Tragedy. The director was sitting in my row and I felt badly for him because all of us including the two men sitting in front of me , we rolling with laughter as to how bad the show was.
I’d love to see Disney try and produce the animated version and release it in Florida. Or Tennessee.
Sebastian understudy did do a hell of a job.
The entire production team was in the theatre congratulating each other and I was doing my best to keep my shocked face away from them. I know how hard they worked on this. And Julio Rey (Prince Sebastian's understudy) was the best part of the production!
Woke story. Bad lead= will end run soon. lol
