Mom doesn't like violence so I guess she'll be one of those max level Crafters/Gatherers that has no combat jobs at max and spend all day on her island sanctuary.

We crafters and gatherers are greatest monsters.
You kill that raid boss 1 time for mount.
We kill that boss 50 times and take everything usable to make chairs from it's remains.
Lots and lots of chairs.
Also, you can't get your island sanctuary until you max level one of your combat classes.

It's probably a good thing she doesn't know about THAT scene in Shadowbringers, the one that drives home the point as to why too much Light is a bad thing. The one that basically says "Welcome to Shadowbringers".
It must be weird for parents to first see their kid's vtuber character. 😆 And then to see strangers pay them money for making videos.

The best way to explain what we do in the game is this....

As a mexican I gotta say, at that dawntrail trailer... yeah, pretty much our reaction. Tropical, some mayan like temples and BIG FAT TACO. I need a house there.

The trailers for this game are absolutely legendary. Nothing comes close. Closest any company can get to Square Enix is Larian Studios and CDPR.

Your mom was right about the greek mythology. While it grabs from many different mythologies, each final fantasy game centers on a specific mythology. 14 is heavily influenced by greek. The ancients represent the greek golden age. Humans were immortal and lived in paradise, but their arrogance lead to their undoing. Meteon is kind of like the pandoras box story. She let dispair out into the world. And finally hope. I could write a thesis on this if i wanted to but I'll leave it at that

A Realm Reborn. An empire named Garlemald threatens all of Eorzea, the alliance went out to an all out war. However, the empire's pet project to crash Dalamud (the moon) into Eorzea backfired big time: it brought Bahamut back, and it nearly wiped the whole world out. Needless to say, the war stopped and found an uneasy peace.
Heavensward. Caught in a conspiracy, you are accused of Regicide. Ul'dah influence is too much for the alliance to ignore, so they turned their backs on you. You escaped up North to Ishgard, an isolationist nation caught in a deadly 1000 year old war with dragons. As repayment for keeping you safe, you set out to end it for good.
Stormblood. The war with Garlemald reignites after some renegades tried to fuck Garleans over by summoning Bahamut in their borders. Needless to say, they didn't take that too kindly. In the West, you have Ala Mhigo, and the East Doma, both lands controlled by the Garleand with an iron fist. To give them a crushing blow, you set out to liberate both lands.
Shadowbringers. The war with Garlemald still wages on, but your friends one by one fell into an unexplained coma. Turns out, it was a desparate cry for help in another world, and they were unfortunately dragged into it trying to get you. This world is threatened by the light, the flood of it sucking out all lifeforce down to the very core. As the harbinger of light, you set out to return the night to this god forsaken land by consuming the light, nearly falling in the process.
Endwalker. In the final moments of the masterminds behind both Bahamut and the flood of light, it was revealed to you that a race of godly beings once existed... And was brought to ruin by monstrousities appearing out of thin air. This godly race referred to the event as the End of Days. And now, it has reared it's ugly head in the form of a suicidal madman, destroying the barrier that was supposed to keep the godly race safe.... And despair floods the very world you live in. Just dying would be a greater mercy than being subjected to those monsters. It is up to you to conquer the same threat that brought the godly race to ruin.
Dawntrail. The star is finally safe. No immediate threat to sever the peace you fought so hard to achieve. But still, you thirst to explore what all the world offers... and set out to the far, far West to a whole new land, one unscarred by all the warrings the game suffered. It is finally time to get back to what drives you as an adventurer!
