Sadly the biggest spectacle for the Healer LB3s comes with witnessing 7 unconscious people being fully revived at the dame time as the lb.
Seeing the animation wothout the save itself always reduces the charm.

@@Blitzwaffen Very true. When used generally you are in a rocky situation and trying to save the fight. It could be more dramatic but as said it looks more impressive when everyone is rezzing.
It should be noted that Sage’s LB is absolutely colossal and the video doesn’t fully show it because of camera limitations. The entire thing is supposed to look like a giant golden tree.

Fun fact, the mages (Summoner, Black Mage and Red Mage) LB's are the one people hate the most, because you can kill your mate with it :) (If they can't see, they can't dodge mecanics) and they're the weakest for single monster (Aoe type) but mage love to use them.
@@TheDevildusty it’s honestly super unfair that mages get less damage when using an AoE LB3 as it is quite literally pointless. they’re only relevant (or even available) in scenarios where there’s one enemy to target. The exceptions prove the rule as you can probably count the number of fights that have two or more relevant targets for an LB3
the thing in the middle of the White Mage LB3 is Aerith's Staff from FF7.
Several of the LB animations have homages to FF7 limit breaks, like melee LB1 and LB2 being Cloud's Braver and Omnislash limits (and even giving the melee a Buster Sword).
The monk LB3 is Tifa's Final Heaven limit break also from FF7.

@@LaccreVT Everyone loves a good blind reaction to the original FF7, might be a good idea for a 2 day twitch stream and a video or two for your youtube channel edited down to "best moments".
Also gives you an excuse to play the remake later and the second part of the remake when it comes out soon so you can get the algorithm's attention.
Melee LB2 is Cross-slash not omnislash.

Bladedance appears to be a shortened version of Omnislash with 6 strikes, the final one being and overhead cleave EXACTLY like in the original omnislash. In fact, it bears a VERY close resemblance to how his Omnislash attack looks in Dissidia NT with 6 strikes finished with that overhead cleave.

Redmage LB deserves it's S+ ranking, but at the same time it's paradoxically the purest F tier LB. What this doesn't show is the real time application. Normally if you use a damage LB at the wrong time, you get yourself killed. The red mage LB is so blinding that it can wipe a whole alliance raid if used at the worst/best time.
Totally not guilty of doing that once...

Look it takes true skill *fuck-uppery* to murder the entire party with it. Also keep in mind you'd have to beat out the Melee's on the big boom, all they have to do is click a button, you've gotta drop a proper ground AOE.

Fun fact, unique LB3 animations came out with Heavensward. Prior to that in ARR, both tanks at the time (paladin & warrior) shared what's now the paladin LB3, the three melee at the time (dragoon, monk & later ninja) shared the monk LB3, both casters at the time (summoner & black mage) shared the black mage LB3, and both healers at the time (white mage & scholar) along with bard all shared the white mage LB3. Yes, bard had a healer LB3 back then.
I suspect this list might get updated during the summer when we'll have two more jobs to play with as well.

About the reaper LB yeah , the first hit , you and your "summon" both hit one time then you fuse in the shroud form for the big swing ( you do that without the LB too , it's the main gimmick of the burst phase in reaper )

For the WHM LB, the staff youre looking at actually belongs to a former FF charcter by the name of Aerith. Its ny only her staff but is also her iconic prayer pose.

Probably one of the best Limit Break videos is Square Enix's own Break the Limit trailer - while it does have gameplay spoilers, they are all out of context - but it does give you some idea of what a lot of the limit breaks look like in context, and all of the healer limit breaks have additional effects that only show up during play when you are rezzing other players. WHM's LB3 animation is a homage to Aerith's iconic prayer in FF7, with her staff and everything.
Dragoon is uniquely positioned in that although like WHM and MNK it *is* a reference, it's actually kinda self-contained? Because it's a homage to FF14 itself and a certain Dragon's unique bond with the Warrior of Light.
MNK's LB3 finally is another homage to FF7, specifically it's a reference to Tifa's ultimate Limit Break called "Seventh Heaven." which shares it's name with her bar.
i havent played ff7all the way through, although i feel like i should. I loved so many of the LB3 they were visually appealing lol
I also feel that at the heat of battle and u pop these LBs which could well make the difference of life and death - can be exhilarating 🎉🎉
While the Tank LB can shield everyone from a heavy hit (eg if ur healers are down / about to fail a body check mechanic), and Heal LB resurrects everyone in an instant ✨✨
DPS big deeps in an instant is neat too🔥

As a reaper main, doing lb3 is bittersweet. It is my favourite LB, although that's probably my bias, but sometimes it needs to be done during burst, and most of reapers dps comes during that time. I know that's not just a reaper issue, but my deeps man lol

I'm a SAM main. I don't blame you. Our LB3 lacks oomph, and the best part--the meditative sheathing--we just skip because we could be hitting buttons again during that animation. But it's okay. Our burst windows do more damage than our LB3, and we often are pushing doing half the damage in any dungeon, so this is a very fair trade.
When I first saw the Summoner limit break I knew I’d be a caster main and I haven’t regretted it sense. Cheers Laccre

For ninja, the arms moving around is how ninja's make hand seals, these hand seals represent elements and combined they'll become different techniques they use in battle. If you've seen Naruto they do the same thing.

Whoever did this video on LBs, I don't think understood they could use gpose to show all of Sage's by reducing the FOV.
I will say this, long long ago the limit breaks were shared among roles, Paladin was the tank one, I forget which melee was it (or if the melee even shared theirs), black mage was all the caster dps, white mage was the one for healers, and bard used the healer limit break 3.
Mind you this was long time ago they just left Paladin, white mage, and black mage with the og as homage (and they make the most sense on those specifically)

@@LaccreVT ARR, I can’t remember if it was heavensward or stormblood that gave every class their own lb. I want to say it was a heavensward patch that did it because I started the game roughly a month before stormblood released and by the time I got to a point to see a limitbreak (after stormblood’s release) it was the dragoon one on a certain dragon boss in the 3.x patch trials (heavensward post story)
Happy for you that you like so many close range DPS limit breaks because that is the ones you will see the most often 😅

Basically, melee DPS lbs are single target and have the highest damage, mage lb are giant AOE and are second, and ranged are a line that hits the most, potentially of course, but does the least damage. But that's only really for min max things, a damage lb is gonna wreck regardless. All four healers full heal and ress without ress weakness debuff, it can clutch a fight if one healer can live only enough to save the team. Tank lb is like a 80% damage mit, and outside of a couple fights outside of savages, you'll almost never get to use it on tank, sorry.
Funny detail, Blue Mages don't have any Limit Breaks. It actually makes doing certain fights in full BLU parties harder or trickier because there'll be damage checks they just have to do the hard way.

My favorite LBs per role are:
Gunbreaker, White mage, Ninja, Dancer, Black mage.

A tad bit of history. ARR , all tanks shared the same Limit Break Last Basion, all healer, bard and machinist shared Pulse of Life (yes phys range used to cast healer LB3), casters all shared Meteor and melee shared Final Haven.
Pulse of Life and Final Haven are FF7 refrences.
People lost their complete shit when Heavensward announced class limit breaks. However all of them do the same thing, tanks LB 3 gives a 50% damage reduction for 8 seconds, healer LB 3 instant resurrections without res enfeeblements, caster AoE, phys range line aoe and melee your single target damage.
Limit Breaks also have a nasty habit of animation lock, so if a healer LB is being used its because 5 or more people are down. If a Tank is using limit break 3 its because either everyone royally screwed up and the only way to live is by eating the mechanic or the boss is doing a giant charge up and no amount of mitigation outside of limit break will save you. If you're using Caster its dependent but primary LB users are melee dps.

The one aspect to judging LB3 that you may come to appreciate later is 'which ones are going to get someone killed' because they literally do blind you from seeing telegraphs or the floor. On that front I think Red Mage, Astrologian and Sage are the worst offenders with the remaining caster dps getting an honorable mention. I've never actually seen it but I think some of the melee LBs can also get them killed if the movement portion of the attack puts them over the edge of the arena, which would probably mostly affect MNK and DRG.
Another thing that might factor in is the difference between different roles. The tank LB can be flashy if it wants because everyone's taking 80% reduced damage and you can even cheese difficult savage raid mechanics. You will also notice that tank LBs tend to put a visual effect on each party member which I think is neat. The healer LB is mostly used to full revive a party with multiple deaths. Caster and melee are straightforward area or single target attacks. The physical ranged is a line area attack, which makes it uniquely good for very specific situations where two or more enemies are far apart from eachother.

@@LaccreVT It is a shared party action, so yeah for your 4 or 8 people, if anyone uses it the entire LB bar empties out. In general, a melee should use it for raid/trial bosses (IE when fighting only one enemy). For dungeons or other multi-target situations, a ranged/caster should use it whenever they can maximize the number of enemies hit (like trash pulls).
Support have more niche cases when they use their LBs. Tanks only ever use it when the fight requires the tank lb3, or as part of a raid strat. Healers use theirs strictly for lb3 to try and recover when multiple people die or you NEED 8 people alive for a raid mechanic.
I hesitate for this bit as it's optimization and shouldn't be your priority as a new player. But if there are multiple people who meet the role criteria for which LB you want, then the priority is whichever person will have their damage or healing output least impacted by being stuck in the LB animation. Similarly is the timing: a melee dps isn't going to want to use LB3 right when they are about to start their 2 minute burst.
Lastly, regardless of which role or LB is being used, the person will want to plan to be stuck in place for a short while, so they may want to focus on the timing and positioning to ensure they don't get wrecked by a mechanic while they're casting LB.
AST and SGE blinding people isn't that big a deal since most of them are already dead anyways if you have to resort to an LB3 to salvage the situation.

@@LaccreVT not as hard as it used to be but I am shotty at best because I do many hiatuses if I play the game nonstop but it's not like other melee classes where the combos are set you can use the weapon skills interchangeably depending on your form like a martial arts stance so like one weapon skill will put you in opo opo form then another combo it into another that would put you in raptor and another skill to put you in coerul form but becareful though only certain skills put you in certain forms and I might have the order of the forms mixed up
I'm a summoner main, level 90. But I love Reaper too, it even has a skill where you can transform for a bit for burst damage. And on female characters you have a deep V exposing the inner side boobs just for that little touch of sexy to go with being badass

The correct way to say Astro's full name is contested, no matter how you say it someone will complain. I've always felt that SAM needs a final cut animation when they do the slow sheath at the end.

@@LaccreVTIts not so much they can move 'while' doing the LB, its that you visually see your character move :D they physically do that criss-cross pattern jumping/dashing along the line of flowers they leave behind, befor backflipping back to the start to 'set off' the attack :D
@@Gwydion_WolfMNK does actually move, there are videos of the latest raid tier where MNK LB3 can actually kill you because it pulls you off the edge

I only go into FFXIV for Gunbreaker and it is my favorite class by far... but the LB3 is the worst in the game imo. It gets better the more you pull back, but I'd love to see them do something else with it

White mage isn't the flashiest, but the staff and the pose INSTANTLY transport me back to seeing Aerith, and it makes me choke up with emotions. It's an S-tier for me for that reason alone

mmm I personally find this video kinda meh, at least for showcasing the Healer LB3's. White Mage's just doesn't hit right unless you also see the whole party's bodies lighting up with feathers as they're recovered from 0 to full. but that's fine, this IS a good place to see all the LB3s in one video

You'll be able to shoot off Megaflares once you've unlocked your first piece of 8 man content. You just have to steal the LB from the melee while they aren't looking.
Also, props for putting the Machinist LB in S+ where it belongs.
Most of the time melee dont look at the LB, we are too focused on the burst Windows >>
Actually, there is one place where you get to use lb3 before you get to 8 man content. Spoiler warning:
In the Ultima Weapon trial. Even though it's a 4 man duty, once it starts the enrage cast of ultima, the limit bar is filled and a third segment is added, making it the first time LB3 is available in the story.

Glad you like the Summoner one! Why not make ours basically the Tetraflare attack that Bahamut uses? And give us wings to boot? I don't get to use it often but when I do, MAN it feels satisfying and not as blinding at Red Mage's LB3! (I still have to blink a few times after that gets used by either me or one of the randos...I have RDM on the side and I keep feeling bad using the LB3.)

Absolutely nothing wrong with the occasional verflashbang. With how often red mage becomes rez mage it is sometimes deserved.

Also, if you've seen Naruto when they're launching a really big attack and going through all the hand signs, that's pretty much what the Ninja is doing. At one point I saw someone macro it with "Ninja Art: You F'd around Now you Find out Jutsu"

Paladin and Gunbreaker LBs really lack the oomph and they look more like normal skills. I was hoping for Paladin to have like wings or a giant shield thing but the wall thing aint for me. Dark Knight LB is just so badass roflmao. For DPS, they have better animations compared to other roles.

SAM and MNK need to have their LB3's swapped with each other. I feel like it makes more sense to have a SAM charge up one massive SAM slash to charge through the enemy leaving an explosion behind them and for monk have them do a series of kicks and punches ending in one massive kick or punch causing the ground in front of that strike to erupt.
And as a SAM main I agree with yoru ranking, it really could be better and I wish it was lol.
