  • In this video, I share with you a few meal examples of what I ate to help heal my acne! I also talk about the emotional issues that may have been causing excess stress and anxiety, which in turn have been aggravating my acne. I also picked up a new healthy habit which I've integrated into my daily routine. I talk about the new skincare products I've been using which I later realized have caused a "purging effect", The Ordinary Products made me break out!

      Yay I’m so happy you like the music!! It’s so important to me to convey a certain feeling and energy through these videos even if they’re simple :) you’re right it’s so hard, especially at that price and with pretty pure ingredients. They’re not THE most natural products I’ve used, but they’re certainly extremely effective and my wallet is also thankful haha! I’m so glad I found The ordinary even though I got a rough start!

    The Ordinary made me breakout too! I was trying to find a brand that was more affordable than the one I usually used. I gave it a chance for a few weeks but it just wouldn't get better, just worse... The only one I still use is the Squalane. Maybe I should give it a chance again though ( because I also tried it while I was in a "blue" period... which makes me breakout too.) Bonne chance Maya ❀

      Bonjour Eve!! Merci pour ton commentaire :) Yeah I was really spending a lot of money on more "luxurious" organic brands, like 25-75$ per product, and as soon as I saw the prices of the Ordinary (5-15$ per product), I was so intrigued because the reviews are so positive! I think you could definitely try it again but make sure your digestion, hormones and emotional health are taken care of the best you can :) So much love xoxox

Trying not to touch them 😅 I use the niacinamid on the morning and alternate the Granactive serum and the salycilic acide on evenings. And I use a cerave cleanser with salycilic acide. Ahh I am so happy to hear this update. You look gorgeous btw dude - like a Disney princess! I am definitely having a purge then. I’ve been using a Korean face wash, then rose water, buffet serum and caffeine serum + HA moisturising factors in the morning. Then in the evening I’ve got same face wash and toner, then granactive retinoid and then caffeine + HA factors again. I’ve struggled with the glycolic acid but I dig the idea of using it a few times a week only, I might avoid the forehead too and just put it on my cheeks where my scars are!! My skin itself has been looking really smooth and it has been a reeeeeallly even tone and well moisturised. But I’m DEFINITELY broken out on my cheeks, but it really feels like what they described the purge to be.
    Anyway I’m rambling so much now GOD!! 😂 oh I also used the AHA + BHA acid peel, the red one and it felt wonderful.... it’s really fun.. you should try it! 😁 ok I’m shutting up and going to bed now I shouldn’t be this hyper so late 😂 love you Maya!!

      holisticmaya oh I can’t believe I’ve taken so long to reply dude sorry!!! I’ve been meaning to! I’ve had to cut my routine right back because one of the products got in my eyes (I suspect a mix of niacinamide and retinol). That was just under two weeks ago and my eyes are still puffy (although it’s definitely healing) and they were soooooo dry. So I’ve been barely using anything at all. So my acne is back 😂 it makes me appreciate that when I was doing a consistent twice a day routine it really did curb my breakouts.

    Hey! This is the first video that I watched of yours and I must say that you are great and I enjoyed watching it a lot. I got The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% +1% Zinc. I started with one drop on my forehead for 4 days and there was no reaction. I later started applying one drop each on my cheek and forehead each night for the next 4 days. I now have 5-6 new postules on my cheeks a few of which were visibly trapped under my skin. However all of these are at the places where I usually get acne. I watched a few videos online of dermatologists which said that Niacinamide should not cause purging as they don't cause cell turnover and I'm now worried as my acne results PIH once they have faded away. Please help me decide on whether or not should I continue using it. I do moisturize and use SPF during the day. It's been 7 days now since started using it. Hope to hear from and you.

    I need help if my skin is purging or not. So I started using the ordinary skin care product along with niacinamide Nd lactic acid. My skin was looking AMAZING I was using it for about almost a month but then I couldn’t find my squalane cleanser for 2 weeks so I ended up using my old facial cleanser which is Tea Tree Oil by the Body Shop and I realized how horrible it felt on my skin and my acne started coming back and then after 2 weeks I found my cleanser , it’s been about almost a week starting tomorrow and my skin is going CRAZY I’m getting so many red bumps and pimples on my jawline filled with pus. I’m putting spit treatments like I usually do and the pus comes back and my chin has small red bumps too and so does my forehead . Can someone explain what’s happening ? Idk if it’s purging but if it’s purging why didn’t it purge when I started the using it the first time

      Hello darling! I am so sorry it took me so long to get back to you. • @holisticmaya
      @holisticmaya  Pƙed 4 lety

      Hello! My skin is pretty "normal/combination". It's not too oily or too dry. It's kind of sensitive but it has never been the typical sensitive skin type. For the niacinamide, don't use more than 2-3 drops on your entire face! Using more than that is just too much and not necessary at all :) Give yourself some time. It took me about 1 month before the acne started going away... But if your skin is red in reaction, maybe it's really too much for your skin, and perhaps you shouldn't use it!

    • @holisticmaya
      @holisticmaya  Pƙed 4 lety +2

      Hello Josephine! Yes it's normal because it's accelerating your cell turnover, which means that any breakouts that were going to come out from deep in your skin, are all coming out at the same time! It might take a few weeks even a month before it stops, and of course you must make sure that other factors like stress and food are taken care of :) because you can apply the niacinamide for several months but it will not be a "miracle product" if there are still hormonal and digestive acne breakouts... If you really feel like it's not helping, I think you should stop using it! So much love to you and thank you for your comment! xoxox
