In China, a few years ago, the plastic surgery to reduce the calf of the legs that involved cutting a muscle was legal. After some women loose their ability to walk, The Chinese Goverment finally forbid it.

Any plastic surgery that removes muscles is weird in my book.
Actually, they're not cutting or removing the muscles.. They're having the nerves that control the flexing of the calf muscles cut to prevent flexing. So the muscles look slimmer. The problem is many end up with muscular atrophy and lose their ability to walk long-term. The surgery worked too well. Without the ability to fully use the muscles, they end up losing the needed muscles to support themselves. Like what happens to the legs of people who suffer spinal injuries. They end up permanently disabled and there's nothing they can do to fix it. No physical therapy, no surgery, nothing.. It's horrible they even do this surgery still. With so many patients left disabled you'd think they'd stop offering or performing this surgery. No money is worth leaving perfectly healthy women in wheelchairs, completely unable to walk.😢

Well it's not the doctor flexing money. If you understand the language the video is showing from the customer's POV. So those videos are literally showing that "I saved up money to do plastic surgery" and that scene is suppose to be the customer paying. So tbf no this is not about the doctors flexing the money they got from customer. I'm not defending the doctor though just stating the reason why the money is shown.

But still my point is a lot of east countries take it to far with being unhealthily skinny while the west countries have to opposite problem with obesity.
@AnnabethOwl exactly, It's as extreme as obesity. Honestly, SK people, the bodies they have, the height to weight to age ratio is absolutely horrible. They may look good in certain clothes but it has nothing to do with being healthy. Those skinny bodies are nowhere near healthy.
What does one mean when they say bone? Collar bones? Ribs? Hip bones? Because if you can see these on a person, they're not emaciated. People are way too fat, and we have really lost sight on what healthy is. What people think is healthy, is actually overweight. In the East it is a bit insane though, they either wanna look like a starving Ethiopian or a child.
@@plumpydayz true- the bottoms line is it comes down to weight. The east has people often underweight and that’s unhealthy while the west has people overweight also unhealthy for different reason, some people seem to forget theirs a middle ground an healthy weight.

10:21 believe it or not, there's an actual surgery that involves cutting the nerves controlling the calves to make them look slimmer. The problem is that it works a bit too well for some women. It's causing long term issues. These girls (aka guinea pigs) are left in wheelchairs, with walkers and crutches, and permanently disabled. Problems that can't be cured. Imo it's really messed up they still do this surgery overseas. Like, duh! You're severing the vital nerves controlling your calf muscles to prevent them from flexing! This makes them appear thinner and smaller over time! They're paying money for surgery to atrophy (aka kill) their calf muscles!! Once it's gone you can't get it back. So by the time they realize there's a problem, it's already way too late. No physical therapy will fix it either.😢

I’d like to know how long after surgery these photos were taken. My mum had a face lift, which was totally unnecessary, and she looked like an alien for a long time. The younger woman’s earlobes would be sticking out because that’s where they shove the excess skin.
