While I agree, a criticism can be made that to continue "voting blue no matter who" also hurts any hope of change. Mind you this is not a black and white issue but a power distribution issue. Having the current system is faulty at best, and a clear power grab by the political class at worst.
Biden is just plain center-right and he won't do anything that shows any attempt to be slightly progressive, so will most of the standard rank and file democrats. There's such a low effort from the political class to change/adapt to the times that they keep most population engaged by stating the other guys are "evil" so vote for us, and we'll get you what we tell you you need but not really.
As long as there's no fundamental change in how the parties are run or how the election system is, the US will remain between choosing a moderate democrat and whatever flavor of the month republican where it leads to stagnation or going back on advances (like Roe v Wade). Even if the democrats have an unchallenged majority they are not likely to push the reforms that the US needs to come into the 21st century as a developed nation.

You really can't give any credence to what the right-wing says about CA, the vast majority are lies. My ex works full time as a nurse, if not for the state of CA, she could not afford health care coverage for our children. She gets an earned income tax credit from the state. She works very hard, but she can barely get by because Republicans have made it so that only the wealthy benefit in our system of capitalism. Sure, there are exceptions to this, but they are rare exceptions. Every tax cut for the last 40 years that Republicans have given to the walthy, they added to our deficits. Those tax cuts created 2/3rds of what our national debt is now. They still totally refuse to tax the wealthy, they just want to cut programs for the American people and give more tax cuts to the obscenely wealthy. Newsom is a true populist, he wants to improve the majority of the people's lives, not a fake populist like trump, who only cares for the well to do, that they fund Republican campaigns and fascist tendencies.
