Been considering changing the stance a little on my new GMC Canyon duramax diesel. So far a sweet middle size truck.. Thanks for the video and your opinion of the dreaded spacers. I'm like you, done properly I don't see a problem. I have leveled out some of the rake with an 1/1/2 in level kit. Thanks again guys, have a good one.
Miss watching the videos ... The Computer Lab, as well as the barn build, have kept me soooo busy .... ordered the tie rod end grease caps the other day ... thank for the tip!
Dear Paul and Kathy, Went for that special test yesterday. Dr. did 4 little biopsies will have results in 2 weeks, when Dr checked me he said everything looked good did did biopsy to make sure their definitely is no cancer. I am exhausted from yesterday. Have a Great Weekend with Kathy. Can't wait to see Your Next Show. Hugs Donna
Well that's good to hear. I know it's stressful just dealing with that issue but it looks positive so far and it's great to hear. I've got issues too but nothing serious that I'm aware of. Had to get X-rays on my heel yesterday. Been getting a lot of pain in it and I was working for a local doctor and she noticed me limping in the shop so she said to get to her office. I'm getting well cared for so that good. It's a beautiful day here so kathy and I are heading out on the motorcycle for a few hours. Hope you have a great day. Thanks for the update. Get well soon. :)
This is a really good mod, I have them on my Land Rover Defender and they give so much better steering lock, with the narrower spacers the excess stud sticking out usually fits into recesses on the alloy wheels, so will not be a problem, but the 1 1/4" are better!
Hi Paul and Kathy! I've been waiting on this one. I've been thinking about putting spacers on my tractor. Thing that is holding me up is I don't know if it would interfere with the mower deck. Some have made it work but I'm still not convinced. Not much room to work with. Glad you're having great weather there. It's brutal down here. High 90°'s, low 100°'s. Yesterday it was 104° and today so far 99°. Enjoy you week and God Bless! Levi~~
HI Paul, the truck is looking good and the wheels now fill the wheel arch much better. Apparently, wheel spacers are actually illegal here in Australia.
I agree. I guess every place has their own set of rules. Kathy and I had the truck out on the highway the other day and it ran perfectly. Happy with the end result.
i like the wider stance it makes the bush wackers look better and im glad you bought the wider ones cuz grinding off some of the lug nut makes me feel uncomfortable about their strength with the heat caused by grinding them
Thanks. It's the look I was after and that brings this series to a close now all I have to do is drive the thing. Locally it's getting plenty of looks and positive compliments. The real problem I have now is I just ran out of video content. Time for an extended break I guess. Thanks for watching.
I was kinda concerned because I like the more traditional tall skinny tire look with the wheel in a little bit(I know it's your truck so it doesn't really matter what I like LOL) but they look great. The mud flaps line up nicely as well. Good job!
Exactly. I understand. I did the truck with the way I wanted it. No point in doing it the way someone else wanted it if they are never going to drive it lol.
Be sure to re-check your camber and toe. Offsetting the front wheels with the spacers and taller tires may have altered your front end geometry enough to make the truck twitchy on crowned roads and broken pavement.
Nice look to the truck! My grandpa always used to say the 5th stud was for torque testing. "Torque one till it breaks, then torque the others a little less. You only need 4.'"
One of the first mods I did on the BX was add 1.5" adapters up front and 2" in the rear. What a difference. Man it's to hot everywhere my friend. Come on snow lol.
the spacers make that look right it looks like it would run me over in my little fiero i'm wanting to put some oem pontiac grand-am wheels on but the lug pattern is bigger the fiero has 5x100 and the "new" wheels are 5x115 from what i read so i was wondering if you would do an adapter to make the new lug pattern work on the car i'm also going from 13" oem to a 16 oem now some of the 85's came with 14" wheels so i think it should work size wise on the car i've heard of people doing similar let me know what your thoughts are

Man if I could we'd send you half the heat. When it gets to 20c with the humidity I'm done. Hope it improves for you soon but I think your ini winter there?
Omg. Nothing will stop her now. She never liked Ol Blue. Said he was to big but now with the upgrades she's starting to warm up to him. Good god. That truck could hold a lot of boots and purses 😳
Hey guys, Supper Cool, Ol Blue looking great, & great video, thanks for sharing it. You guys try to stay cool up there, it's been 92°F to 93°F here for the last few days, and feels hotter then that. I think they said 98°F with the humidity. Then having rain pours in the evenings. But any who, thanks guys, you all stay safe, and take care.
The torque values you used are for dry threads. You should have reduced the torque settings 25% for anti-seize on the threads. You can prove this for yourself by measuring the length of a stud with a mic before torqing, then when torqued dry, and then when torqued with anti-seize. You will find the stud stretched more when torqued with anti-seize than when torqued dry. You may have torqued your studs beyond the yield point with the anti-seize which means you need to replace them before they break.
Hey Paul...What are your thoughts on using wheel adaptors on the BX or a tractor of comparable size...I had a friend that was trying to tell me that it would change the angle of roll over on the tractor. I do about a hundred feet of "ditch " on my property and there is a point where I won't go on down into the ditch for the simple fact that I don't know where my trust point is when quartering a slope. Great video by the way. Keep em coming...!!!
Nope. Never had any time. It's been crazy busy in the shop these last few weeks. I'm hoping I'll get back to detailing the truck this long weekend. I intend to use the clay bar and wax the old fellow. It's funny you asked because someone came in the shop the other day and thought it had already been detailed. I just think Ol Blue is feeling better and prouder these days lo.
Great video, just ordered the same adapters for my 2013 f150...any issues with them? Oem torque specs on my truck is 150 ft lbs, should I be torquing the adapter at 150?? Any idea how heavy I should go? Thanks Paul ...great video !!
I would think 150 ft lbs is a tad bit high but if that's the specs then go for it. I'd use the same torque of the adapter as the wheels. I've had no issues what's so ever with mine. I pull a welding unit and a dump trailer with the truck. If you use an anti seize on your hubs you might want to subtract about 20% from the torque specs. Good luck.
Hi Paul...Ole Blue looks great with the wider stance. I see you purchased your adapters from rdcobra91 on eBay. I am considering purchasing some 1.25" spacers for my Tundra. Have you been using their products for a while? Any problems? Thanks in advance and keep on trucking!
Hi Mitch. I've not had one issue with the adapters. They have never come loose and the ride of the truck is as good as it's ever been. I'm sure you'll be happy with a set from him. Keep well.
Nice. Came out very nice looking truck. For how long now that spacer is in your truck? Did it show any problem lately, specially cracks on the spacers?

The GL1500's have never had a frame issue that I am aware of because they have a steel frame whereas the GL1800's are aluminum frames and Honda in Marysville, Ohio where they were built at the time didn't weld them properly so if I were you I wouldn't worry about that bike of yours. What is the new toe-in measurement needed for the adapted wheels, or is it close enough not to count?
Shouldn't matter with the 1.25" adapters.
I have a ford F250 light duty, 1998, 7 lugs and want to change it to six lugs. Where did you purchase the adapters?
Hi,so does your link do wide 6hole adapters to narrow 6 hole
Quick question buddy, does fitting spacers exert more leverage onto the wheel bearings and reduce their life span ? Or is it negligable ?
Yes a slight bit but not enough for me to be worried about.
Where did you get the wheel spacers. I need a set for my cub cadet 7305.
The link is in the videos description.

Very welcome. Cheers 🍻
So what is the difference between the adapter and the factory preset torque.

Great. That's what it's all about.

Does Newfoundland have laws on how high you can lift your truck?
i believe theres a maximum bumper height allowed. its not strictly enforced though.
As a licensed provincial motor vehicle inspector there is nothing in the guidelines even referring too a lifted truck.
